We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The chasm between power and violence is a huge one. We have always had the power but we've been way short on the violence.
Less talk, more violence.
Oh the speech. I voted for the guy twice and support him but one thing I know he can't do is give a speech. Every one of the speeches I've heard him give are stiff, bordering on rigor mortis. Doesn't he have a speech coach?
I bet if we reviewed the 9-11 tapes of him reading to the kids prior to being notified about the WTC we'd see some strong evidence of taking a few kids off Ritilin and just have them listening to W's old speeches.
Believe me Books-on-Tape is not going to be knocking on his door.
