Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Supermodels in my Maserati Syndrome

You know about PEBD, right? (h/t, Jules C):

"I could tell--foggily--that my Maserati teetered on the edge of a mountain road in Tuscany," he recalled, "but if the supermodels in my back seat had been an ounce lighter, I wouldn't be here today."

Whole heart-breaking article here. I think we need a Federal program to help these people. Teams of counselors and social workers, ready to go at a moment's notice. Maybe involve FEMA, too.

Sunday night, just prior to visiting with Huck I thought this thread deserved some attention. Having overlooked it earlier today the topic is not without merit. PEBD can strike any of us. So stay alert, if it srikes you ,a family member, or friend seek immediate help. I could change someone's life for the worst,which could be for the better.

yes, it's the heartbreak of PEBD. Only socialized medicine could offer these poor folks the help they need and deserve.
