The Times of London is reporting in tomorrows issue that the Israeli's are prepared to strike Iran with tactical nuclear weapons at Natanz, Isfahan, and other sites.
The yields will be about 1/15th the size of the Hiroshima bomb.

You know I had to use it, even if the yields are small it will be a big event.
There's also a story in the NYT about Saddams last few days and how (my words here) prisssy the US was about doing it etc.

Ill read it but from what I hear my old outfit is unfit. I believe it's dysfunction began when Carter took office. I'm sure Clinton politisized it to the nTH degree but now that it's not top dog maybe things will change. I'm just glad I was in when it was in the shadows or I wouldn't have believed the changes I saw take place.

yeah that whole BOTNET deal and the admission by our top people that we have no defense against it is very scary.
I've known for years that the Chinese on a daily basis have been attacking our Defense and Intelligence Agency networks. I don't ever see anything about it in print but I have people that tell me. Now these rogue (or are they? ) BOTNETS...hide gold under your bed.

Plus we were launching Operation Long Reach SR-71 support for the '73 Arab Israeli War and Project Jennifer,ProjectAzorian, and Project Matador all efforts to recover A Golf class Soviet sub. using the Glomar Explorer. It was wild and wooly..I loved it.
But that entire intel world is so different than the rest of the world it can't be explained in print or movie. It's something you live everyday and it's a trip.

I read somewhere the other day that a huge volume of classified material that wasn't due to see daylight for another 10-20 years has been declassified and released. It's 60's and 70's stuff so we'll all start to find out a good deal more about everything.
I do know this. In todays world all transmissions, telephone ,sat,fax, you name it is picked up by ECHELON. Problem is we can't get to all of it.
The AQ have taken a page out of the Battle of the Bulge.
We had ULTRA, but for that operation they used only human couriers to transmit the plans etc..AQ has gone to that, knowing our capabilities. You can get a good deal of info on a read-write disk or in my day microdots abd other means. Just have an innocuous looking kid carry the news.
