We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I agree. I am starting to look around for a new retriever to try and prolong the life of my beloved 12 1/2 year old Golden who is failing gracefully. A multitude of ailments that the vet would like to spend thousands treating (wouldn't prolong his life, would hurt and sicken him and enrich the vet). A fuzzy pup attacking his tail with needleshsharp teeth and climbing all over him might be just the ticket to liven him up...
Sierra Trading Post is the greatest, I agree. Shoes and boots are the best deal. Froggie and English wellington boots of such beauty I flinch getting mud on them! All those cool hiking things and gear, etc. Their site and the glossy brochures for the Harvard and Yale tours of interesting exotic spots give me itchy feet.
If your shopping for a new Lab pup. Stay away from TLC labradors in Nebraska. Though I have a wonerful pup now 1.5 yrs old he is limited severely by hip and joint issue that keeps him from hunting for any lenth of time. Oh he's cute awlright... but upon learning he had panosteitis the breeder basically said they would give me a discount on yet another dog... now let me get this right... the first one is ailing and you want me to trust you AGAIN ????
