Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

They despise Musk because he's an apostate.
He took a good, solid look at the left, and realized he didn't want to be associated with them any more. He got insulted on Twitter, laughed, and bought the company to break the censorship echo chamber. You can believe something implicitly about an organization that you're loosely adhered to - then you get an epiphany and realize that you don't want a damned thing to do with them any more. For Elon, the cost of staying was higher in his estimation than leaving. And like a cartel, the Dems will attempt to destroy those who leave and can no longer be controlled. (Look at the response to Haley Stevens leaving the Democratic Party.) But ol' Elon's got FU money. He just doesn't care. He KNOWS that if they get back in power they'll do everything possible to hamstring him on SpaceX and Starlink - and I can't help but think he's got plans in the works for that which we haven't seen yet... JLawson: But ol' Elon's got FU money. He just doesn't care... and I can't help but think he's got plans in the works for that which we haven't seen yet...
You named the problem: When a single person has more power than the elected legislature, then the Republic is threatened. “We can have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we cannot have both.” — Justice Louis D. Brandeis JLawson: He got insulted on Twitter... Always a good reason for using his vast resources against those who, um, criticized him. QUOTE: You named the problem: When a single person has more power than the elected legislature, then the Republic is threatened. In what world does EM have more power than the elected legislature? He has FU money, which means he can absorb the BS that will be thrown his way by a legislature that is unlawfully (by today's standards anyway, maybe not by next month) targeting him. That's the definition of FU money. Not that he can overpower the government, but that he can take the garbage thrown at him and say F-U. The Republic is threatened. But not by who is insinuated by this strawman comment. AlCzervik: In what world does EM have more power than the elected legislature?
Granted "they" is doing a lot of work, the same problem with most such claims. But "they" apparently refers to a possible Democratic congressional majority. The claim was "I can't help but think he's got plans in the works for that which we haven't seen yet". How else would you read the claim? AlCzervik: a legislature that is unlawfully (by today's standards anyway, maybe not by next month) targeting him. Congress has the constitutional power to investigate anything which might affect the drafting of legislation. Criminal investigations remain under state and federal agencies. A lot of what Congress does is pompous posturing, but such is the nature of politics. About what one should always expect from this "learned" poster!!!
"Why Do They Despise Musk?"
Most who hate Musk hate him because they are told to hate him. It is easy they are radicalized in school to hate the rich and Musk is the epitome of the rich. The far left tells their followers who to hate and the dutifully hate them. Most "leaders" on the left hate Musk because he speaks too freely and doesn't give them money. If he would shut up or even better, push their agenda they would leave Musk alone. But there is a more insidious reason that the far left hates Musk. He is making America great, stronger, more informed and interfering with international efforts to propagandize the U.S. media. There are traitors among us and there are countries actively plotting to destroy us. They hate Musk and they are using Musk to create dissent. China, Islam, Hard lefties and even to a lesser extent the EU want to destroy the U.S. China has flooded our country with spies and saboteurs and many on the left actively embrace this effort. The DSA and other communist organizations within the U.S. align themselves with the CCP. Code Pink and Antifa align themselves with the CCP. They want to destroy our republic so it can be converted to a communist form of government. Most on the left are collaborators. re Democrat Agenda: Pack the Supreme Court,
This is a truly scary prospect. Packing the court would likely render the Constitution meaningless because the Constitution only means what the SCOTUS says it does. Want to gut constitutional ammendements? Pack the court. Want to implement unjust and discriminatory rules and regulations? Pack the court and they become legal. With the Supreme Court in your pocket you can rig the vote, and it's legal. There is really no need to make DC and PR states. Having a court packed with hardcore leftists will ensure permanent political power for Democrats, and give them a free hand to do anything they want. South Africa's biggest city... cultures do not have equal outcomes as they do not have equal inputs.

QUOTE: Among the findings of this first-of-its-kind poll: More than a third of the public (38%) and more than half of Democrats (53%) say they themselves have experienced TDS, when it’s described as “unusually intense negative emotional reactions to Donald Trump.” 70% say they observed Trump-related emotional stress, anger, or agitation among people they know. 62% say they have seen people change their behavior because of strong negative feelings toward Trump. 41% know people who refuse to socialize with friends or family who support Trump. 37% have seen obsessive attention to Trump combined with anger toward his supporters. 22% say they have seen threats or aggressive or violent behavior tied to negative feelings about Trump. . . . TDS sufferers won’t suddenly be cured when Trump leaves the White House. Their obsession will just transfer to a new tormentor. You can already see this with the left’s bloodlust toward Elon Musk. And it’s a certainty that no matter who Republicans nominate to succeed Trump, he or she will be the next target of their derangement. https://issuesinsights.com/2026/10/30/first-of-its-kind-poll-finds-tds-is-real-and-its-shockingly-widespread/ re South Africa's Biggest City Faces Total Infrastructure Collapse
So . . . . was life in South Africa better under white rule or not? You expect to hear from the UN, UK, BLM, ACLU, the AME church or the Democrat party?
South Africa's leaders have come together and decided that they just haven't killed enough Boer yet. The feel that if they want to reach "true" Zimbabwe they must kill all the whites and give the farms to the blacks and then they will have finished what we all knew was their fate.
Funny true story, totally unrelated: A missionary to young pigs to Africa and spent a few weeks in a village teaching them how to raise pigs. How to house them and feed them and care for them so that they would never go hungry ever again. When he had completed his effort the missionary went back home to his pig farm in Iowa. Six months later he revisited that little African village to see the fruits from his effort. He was surprised to find out that within hours of his leaving the villagers slaughtered all the pigs and had a feast and that now they were starving again. They asked if he had brought more pigs. |
