Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

re Why Cities Go Socialist
There is a description of what is happening in LA,DC, and NYC, but I see no mention of why it is happening. The article is also just about LA, DC, and NYC, not "cities" in a general sense as the lede implies. I am reading more and more stories where the headline has nothing to do with the content. This looks to be yet another one in that vein. Or maybe my reading comprehension is in terminal decline. Re: Flaws in the Wellness Movement
Anyone who quotes, no less admires Ezekiel Emanuel is suspect. Not to say there aren't charlatans in the WM, but to call out EM as a voice of reason ... child, please ! Save me from the Bioethicists. England's Labour Party is "center left" the media would have you believe. In truth they are far left, they are hard core socialist and closet communists. Kier Starmer has resigned effective... eventually. But the Labour Party will pick the replacement not the voters. Interestingly the job has been offered to the half dozen or so leading Labour party socialist/communist leaders and they have all declined. Why? Because Keir Starmer's reign of terror has been a cluster fuck. No one wants to inherit his administration and become the next Prime Minister to be thrown under the bus. Oh, someone will step forward, someone either too stupid to know better or to eager for power and a believer in socialism/communism and willing to sacrifice himself for it. But no intelligent person wants to assume power under the Labour party banner.
But the job isn't done yet. England, and indeed all of Great Britian is in the crapper of history on it's way to complete collapse but the fear is that someone, from the right, will step up and save the country. The left has worked so hard to destroy it and it has taken years and trillions of wasted pounds and Euros it would be a shame to save it just before the destruction is complete. So the Labour party will find the stupidest Labour politician in existence and "place" him in power and ride this dead horse into the ground. Long live the King! Elbows up! Into the Valley of death rode the 600! Stiff upper lip... OneGuy: But the Labour Party will pick the replacement not the voters.
The Prime Minister is never elected by popular vote. The Labour Party has a majority in parliament, so the new leader of the Labour Party will be presumptive Prime Minister. However, if enough members of parliament oppose the new leader, then the government could lose a vote of confidence, and that would probably lead to new parliamentary elections. But not to the election of a new Prime Minister—because the Prime Ministry is not an elected office. (Support in the Labour Party is coalescing on Andy Burnham.) That's how it works in Britain. That's how it has worked for centuries. The Rothschilds own Europe (including the UK) and Europe will do whatever their owners want done. They yearn for the "good old days" of their Messiahs - Lenin and Stalin - and intend to get there BAMN.
Zach-GPT: "The Prime Minister is never elected by popular vote. "
Oneguy never claimed differently. In fact, he affirmed explicitly that the voters will not pick the new prime minister. He did not make any claim as to why that was the case. But thank you for your completely unnecessary pedantic explanation of Britain's system. /sarcasm Zach is right but that electoral system exits in all parliamentary democracies, not just the UK. One votes for a party; one does not vote directly for the Prime Minister. The head of the party which wins the most parliamentary seats becomes - de facto - the Prime Minister.
Movie "Citizen Vigilante" Exposes Migrant Crime Issue And Triggers Outrage
Produced and directed by Uwe Boll, Citizen Vigilante stars Armie Hammer as Sanders, an American businessman and former US Army officer living in Europe. He becomes incensed by vicious migrant crimes and the corrupt two-tier legal system that consistently helps migrants escape punishment. He sets out on a mission to target criminals who avoid justice, along with the political officials who enable the crime. https://www.zerohedge.com/political/movie-citizen-vigilante-exposes-migrant-crime-issue-and-triggers-outrage Just made a quick run to COSTCO. Of course the first thing you notice in COSTCO is no one knows how to push a cart. They do indeed "push" it but slowly or in the middle of the aisle or cross ways to traffic or my all time favorite abandoned in the main aisle while they go shopping or wait for a cup of free stuff. What is disconcerting is they all drove there and will drive away from there and be on the same roads with innocent people trying to stay alive. How can you know how to drive a car safely and courteously and not know how to push a shopping cart around? And yet there they are, cart in the center of the aisle, one hand on the cart and looking at something on the shelf as though it is intentional to block everyone from passing. I'm sure it's not intentional... which is what makes it all so disconcerting, it is mass ignorance.
Asian drivers, man.
You leave it like that? Oh, so you want to play passive-aggressive? Great. What I do is highjack the cart and push it a good ways away from where it was parked, then tuck it around a corner so it's not easily seen. Why Cities Go Socialist:
Because people without job skills want other people to give them free stuff. There is very little accountability in large cities. Fraud is a way of life and rich and poor are attracted to it. As it becomes worse, city spending is aimed at personal consumption and the city infrastructure decays. More federal programs are demanded as local tax structure continues to decay. The producers continue to leave and what is left is a shithole with people complaining that life is just not fair.
Hell, I'll take care of the climate scandal for $700K per year plus expenses and my own jet. I need a nice jet, the kind that John Fonda-Kerry would take to Davos or maybe the Malives for windsurfing. Yeah, and my plane needs to have a bar that would give Pelosi the shakes just being near it.
Can I get a small nuclear launching device on a small jet, a little something to make Iran feel more unified with the "force". Some UC Berkeley law students exploiting ‘disability’ status
Though I feel for those who desire a fair test process, I believe they have mistaken a feature for a bug. Remember, these are law students working towards a career in law. By taking advantage of a legal option that affords them a greater chance of success, they demonstrate for their suitability to the practice of law. Failing to make use of this legal option likely makes The graduate less attractive to potential employers. There was little evidence that pereonal integrity is highly regarded in the practice of law. Even those in need of a lawyer generally look for lawyers with fewer, rather than more scruples. U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres Demands $1.3 Trillion a Year to Fight ‘Climate Chaos’
"The $300 billion pledged to developing countries must be delivered with concrete steps to mobilize the $1.3 trillion a year by 2035,” Guterres said." Current debt spending for the climate grift is about 2.5 Trillion per year, which still falls short of the stated goal of 7.8 Trillion per year, which is also approximately the current global budget deficit. Read "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" for a glimpse of what is going on here. This is just one segment of the biggest theft in history. It's all about propping up the climate dreamers with cash to keep them in the climate grift, otherwise, unemployment line.
