Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Local woodpeckers seem to love our streetlights in east central Florida. Perching on the metal head and hammering away enthusiastically!

We have multiple daily visits from a pair of Pileateds. Fashioned them a suet feeder out of a 2 foot long piece of log which I holed out in 5 different spots about 2 inches deep each. I pack those holes with suet and the Pileateds love it, not to mention the Hairy, Downy and Red-bellied woodpeckers, Brown Creepers and Red and Whited-breasted Nuthatches.

We seldom had Pileateds in NH until recently. I heard a few but didn't see any this summer.

Don't erase the music lovers complimenting you, please. I thought the first one was a spoof of art critics while referring to the woodpecker pattern.
