We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Morbid curiosity, I clicked on the Bluesky link. Oh brother. I barely could get past the first paragraph. Typical of the Left, they use their own reporting to prove their ‘facts’. Seven links in the first paragraph: three of them go to msnow, one to cnn, one to nbcnews, one to axios, and one to Forbes.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't have any cards but I do have hand written simple patterns written down on the back of family letters of the 19th century. Various marks put in a pattern as the weavers would know what it meant. When I'm gone some family member will probably throw the papers away and that bit of history will be lost. What a shame. You have to admit the Chinese have developed many early things for humanity. Many people don't realize they made the best porcelain way before the English and Germans. The manufacturers learned from the export Chinese makers.

Whether by intent or chance Going after the Somali fraud, the narco terrorists ad the USAID and all their NGO's is seriously cutting into the funding of the left. Money flowed from these criminal activities into Democrat politicians pockets. Some of it by contributions to election campaigns and some of it as dark money never accounted for. This is why the left is so angry that Trump removed the narco terrorist Maduro from his illegitimate position as head of Venezuela. This is why the left is so angry that the Somali fraud was exposed. The left are domestic enemies of the state.

Before dealing w Mexico, there is a LOT to do in Venezuela.

1) Elections: Make sure that Chavistas no longer have a monopoly in the Electoral Council. Had the Electoral Council followed the rules in the 2024 elections, it would have officially released the Actas---the paper printouts of the results from each precinct. Oppo people had enough Acta printouts to document fraud, but the Electoral Council didn't officially release any of them.

2) Get the Armed Forces out of the drug running business. This will be difficult, as the higher ups do not want to lose drug bribe income.

3) Get rid of the Cubans. The Cubans run intelligence in Venezuela.


I don't know why the US didn't also snatch Diosdado Cabello, who probably had and has more to do with day-to-day running of Venezuela than Maduro ever did.

The article about chiropractors paints with too broad a brush, I believe. There ARE bad chiropractors (probably a higher percentage than bad physicians) but a good chiropractor has skills that no physician or physical therapist can match. Getting the body in alignment, addressing nervous system issues, and healing from within with nutrition instead of powerful drugs, are things the medical community should embrace.

Mamdani's Threat to Landlords

It's hard to tell who is more despicable in this mud-wrestle.

Most of the landlords are limousine liberals who talk exactly like Mamdani - probably voted for him - but (and?) have repeatedly blocked reforms that would introduce free-market competition and expand the housing base.
