We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
In 1959 a friend and i camped at a lake in Maine for the Summer. One day we felt a little restless and walked three miles into a tiny town and bought two lobsters for $0.50. We carried them back to camp and cooked them over coals. I love lobster.
Living in the Midwest it is more difficult to get fresh lobster. All are frozen but we eat them anyway. We used to travel to New England for business and eat lobster every time we could get it as the prices are so much more affordable. Here in the Midwest a sea food place may charge $75 for a couple of small tails and they chew like a rubber hose. Will now make my own by poaching in butter or better yet deep fried tails with butter.
