We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Good on Ireland for rejecting the hateful hate legislation. But don't waste anytime congratulating yourselves. When the bylaws for the EU were written it was not intended to be a trading agreement it was intended to consolidate power to an untouchable dictatorship so that they could spend the next 50 years destroying European states. While England, Ireland, Scotland, etc. citizens daydreamed through life the dictatorship put EU favorable officials in charge and stole your lands, rights and citizenship. No! Don't celebrate. This fight has just begun and now that your eyes are open and your mind is just beginning to focus your local, state and EU leaders will be at their most dangerous to your life and welfare. It's going to get bad, tyrant level bad. They took your guns for a reason and now you will find out how they will use that advantage.

Canada, Australia, America! Are you watching? The new world order is coming for you too and they are already entrenched in your ruling class. When you hear the Democrats lie to your face on TV they are self identifying as communist leaning new world order anti-constitutional tyrants. They intend to win even if that means assassinating anyone who seems to interfere with their master plan. This is war, they are using your own systems and media to steal your countries. They will create chaos, that is what all the illegal immigration is for and in the chaos they will take power. The ONLY thing good about what they are doing is they are so confident that they aren't hiding their intent or their identity. The only Democrat that is not part of the conspiracy is Fetterman. I wouldn't give you two cents for Fetterman's chance of living to collect his SS. They, the Democrats, are all pro-communist/anti-Americans and they are unashamed.

As the world continues to develop, it's inevitable that the economic position of the US will decline in relative terms, even as the US becomes more prosperous. However, the US can remain competitive and remain a world leader; but that will require engaging in rational decision-making, maintaining strong alliances with other countries, and making prudent investments.

The US has always prospered and built strong alliances in part by exporting new technology. At this point, China is the leader in green energy, and they are already making inroads into other technologies. The future is coming on strong.

Maybe you can explain that. But I doubt it. If China's oil consumption has declined, that is a reflection of their economic and demographic decline. Not evidence of a successful "green economy."

Please stop pretending wind and solar, along with EVs are a viable plan. They aren't.

They have, and yet carbon intensity has decreased and overall emissions are beginning to fall. The concept is called bootstrapping. China intends to use fossil fuels to power the current economy and to power the transition—just like the West has done. Coal generation has declined to about half of total generation capacity in 2024. Green energy expansion is several times coal energy expansion.

James: If China's oil consumption has declined, that is a reflection of their economic and demographic decline.

China's economy has grown by nearly a fourth from 2020 through 2024, considerably faster than the United States.

James: Please stop pretending wind and solar, along with EVs are a viable plan.

Meanwhile, China's Changji Hui Prefecture has 5 GW wind and 10 GW photovoltaic generation. This is combined with a new power storage system capable of stabilizing the system with annual generation of 2.1 billion kWh at 1.2 million kW, transmitted over 2,000 miles on an advanced UHVDC system, from Changj to Guquan.

Of course, we can’t expect backward countries such as the US to match China’s technological prowess. But the Americans might learn from others, as China has done. Wonder what China will come up with next!
