We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Color coding

Color-coding in schools? I am agin' it. Nowadays, who cares?

Plus it's getting harder to tell what color anyone is, anyway: everybody is getting mixed skin DNA. For example, what color is Derek Jeter? And do you really care?

In our offices, they are all sorts of Indians, Asians, who knows what? You don't even think about it - they are all humans.

Heck, our own Editor Bird Dog is part Iroquois. Do you care? He is part dog, also (which has helped him get into the best dog schools).

Let's arrange folks by character, energy, brains, talent, discipline, interest, etc. This skin thing has got to go. It is just too stupid.

But I see some libs are still trying to count their Crayolas. Eliott Spitzer, for one. NY Sun. Supreme Court. Good case.

Are you going to use color coding as a tip off to your first noted feature of a Muslim on the same flight you're boarding? Of course you are. Admittedly it would be, in a perfect world, that skin tone doesn't matter, but it does.
It's function is to discriminate between those of various backgrounds as a first discriminator. We then move to social adjustment, attitude with groups, deportment, and a host of other "discriminators" before we "pass" our own (usually silent) judgement of the individuals capacities and worth.
It would be folly nad against human nature not to "see" the color fisrt and proceeed from there. It is a wish upon a star whose light still reaches us long after the stars death.

It is not just about a well intentioned effort at balancing the colors in the classroom, or equalizing the quality of education--it is about something much more deliberately directed at demeaning the European/American in this culture, and therefore reducing their ability to stand firm in the body politic. After all, how can you argue strongly against illegal immigration, when you are clearly a member of a group marked forever from early childhood on that you and your mother/daddy were racists, and you will continue to be a racist no matter what you do. That has a very debilitating effect. That law was written into the WA state law by the same people, who took over the Episcopal Church during the last five years. How will Anglo/Americans stand up to poor quality of education in their schools--without being called racist?

I stood up to these women, and they destroyed my husband's career. They tried to destroy his reputation among his peers, but he is too good a man for them to be able to accomplish that! Too many people know him for his integrity and kindness, and grace. He is a true officer and a gentleman. He came from poor, but good people on a small little farm. His credentials in his field are of the highest order. Yup--they destroyed the career--but, not the man!
I am a lucky woman--even if I do have to watch my country come apart in this lifetime.

Perhaps "think" was the wrong choice of words. It is however cognatively impossible to not see (visually) what a persons skin color is.
Most of us run through that with an unspoken (ok, big deal) not an oh boy here's a black,yellow, or red I can hate, but the hue is there to be absorbed.
Unfortunately we now match Middle Eastern features in out cognition. Or perhaps that's a good thing given the aggressive nature of Islam and their religious order to subdue all infidels.
