Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Tucker Carlson is making bank. It’s all an act. He’s neither dumb nor naïve. His show lives off the concept that no publicity is bad publicity. Who knows what he truly believes, which in a sense makes him a good actor.
While I am glad that democrats are moving out of America, why don’t they ever move to actual communist countries? They move to Mexico because it is cheap, and close to home. I guess they are too stupid to realize that Mexico has immigration laws that American republicans have envied. Other places they move to are lily-white. Democrats don’t actually want to live their convictions, they just want to force those convictions on to others. As a reminder to conservatives thinking of jumping ship to Elon’s new American party: Elon doesn’t support the second amendment. And he believes in man caused climate change. He may pretend to be a fiscal conservative, but Tesla was built on subsidies from the US taxpayer. He may have a strong affinity for free speech, and I am glad for that, I don’t think I could join his new party with enthusiasm. The Republican Party has lots of issues, the core issue being the candidates themselves, not the planks. Name one TV, Internet and podcast correspondent who has been in the belly of the beast (DC, New York City) who is better, more honest than Tucker! Look at his last 20-30 interviews, going right at the heart of the deep state, who else has done that? Almost every conservative reporter intentionally splits his criticism and reporting between left and right for one reason; so that they don't get cancelled/fired/suicided. No one is better than Tucker... And THAT is why the hit piece was published.
Tucker is getting too close to telling all. He will either end up in jail or dead. OneGuy, I don’t know much about what Tucker has to say. I’ve rarely listened to him. I have heard a full speech, from two or so years ago, I forget the venue. One of the guys from Powerline introduced Tucker. It was probably Hinderaker and in Minneapolis. Anyway, I was impressed with the speech. I watched a few of his videos on YouTube; same time period. And then the next time I paid any attention to him was when he interviewed the ‘historian’ making claims that Churchill was worse than Hitler. Tucker described the guy as Americas premier historian, or some such language. And for whatever reason, while working on a retaining wall drainage project a few weeks ago, I tuned into Mark Levin. Good grief.
I have rarely ever listened to Mark Levin. I can’t stand the yelling and over the top emotionalism. It’s an act. A bad act. Mark was very upset about Tucker Carlson. It was Chatsworth Carlson nonstop. “Rush, first called Tucker, Chatsworth, you know?” Old yeller was very upset because Tucker Carlson was not 110% pro-Israel. For days, weeks this went on. I didn’t listen every day, just out of morbid curiosity a few times over the next ten days. My long winded point is that I don’t put much stock in what either Levin or Carlson has to say, or who they interview. Freedom. Both have their passions and are making good money espousing those passions. There has been and are many that go at the deep state; the 4th branch of government; the bureaucracy. If it weren’t so, where would all the conspiracy theories come from? It’s just that rarely does the person, taking it the heart of the deep state, come along that scares the deep state. re The Incredulous Tucker Carlson Act is Tiresome -
I liked Tucker's commentary a lot better when he worked for Fox. His shtick must work, though it has caused his stock to depreciate dramatically with me. I don't pay any attention to him anymore. Anything on television is incredulous. Hollywood, polling, and the media were completely dismissive of Trump running against Hillary and even him running against Kamala. They were nearly shocked into silence with Hillary's loss. Even Hillary was shocked. It is the nature of television which is little more than another acting venue similar to Broadway. Including a patent medicine show.
Restoring trust in healthcare. I quit trusting the healthcare conglomerate decades ago. It has mimicked the education establishment by welcoming government into the tent. There is no such thing as free money going to institutions without ever growing compliance with the government controllers, also known as the permanent administrative state. Everything the admin state touches eventually turns to shit which is the natural state of government 'help.' In case you didn't know, John C. "Chris" Zander passed away on June 26th, 2025. Many knew him through his blog TheZman.

"French Left-Wing MPs Introduce Amendment To "Reduce" Coverage Of Migrant Crime Stories"
Pretty sure this has been policy in Sweden for over a decade. Was one of my first tip-offs that immigrant crime could hockey-stick and "native" citizens be gaslit and shamed for noticing. "The experience is emblematic of the tyranny of optimization."
I've had courses in optimal control and I never realized it was about tyranny. |
