Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Easy solution: No welfare or federal aid for illegal aliens and non-citizens period. Enforce the laws that prevent them from working in the U.S.

Wrong tense, at least for most. They "were" but "are" not.
Clear up for me how Trump lied. You can't prove he lied and can't even prove he was wrong. Which raises the question, are you lying or just wrong? As I pointed out to you, Haitians do eat cats and dogs in Hati. As is historically the case in most very poor urban environments all over the world. The fact that you keep repeating your propaganda after having that pointed out to you suggest you're lying.

Odd to have a "progressive" echo the talking points of the C of C and big business. Whose concerns are naturally about keeping labor costs as low as possible. Sounds like an admission by you that illegal immigration lowers the pay of US citizens.

Trump changed the Temporary Protected Status to end in August 2025, rather than in February 2026; so they are legally resident in the United States.

The evidence strongly supports that it was a falsehood. A lady lost her cat and blamed her neighbor. It was distorted and amplified by trolls, including Trump. The cat was found in her basement.

James: Only about 90% for males between 25-44.

The highest rate for ages 25 to 54 was 84.6% in 1999. The balance are disabled, in school, on sabbatical, or not worth hiring. The labor market is tight. If you remove millions of workers, some jobs will not be filled.

Now do small appliances. My wife has a 60-year-old steel case waffle iron* that has had ONE cord repair, ever. I could use it to pulverize every other small appliance in my kitchen.

*...and it's got reversible plates, so I can make quesadillas and redneck panini.

Dishwashers absolutley do not last as long. It's very dificult to find a new oven without a circuit board, which is what goes bad in them. An oven that is just plumbing will last until the steel rusts away. Lawnmowers are not built to last. They're built to underperform and extend MPH.

Most of the appliance problems are a result of regulated changes forced by the Green Zealots. Man Made Climate Change is a religion of conquest.

The death of (gas-powered) lawnmowers is directly correlated with the regulation that required gas cans have a spout that would not allow you to pour fuel into your lawnmower gas tank.
