Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Embarrassment for Woke Late Night Hosts...If They Could Be Embarrassed, I Mean
The only time I watch any of these (purported) clowns it to find more comedians to not watch, usually on Netflix. A small investment of time with great returns. Funny that the first article shows those slow human thoughts INVENTING the computers etc etc,
Later articles show some humans don't think at all. Thanks for all you do at Maggie's Farm, very enjoyable. Happy New Year and Best Wishes. We don't need H1B workers we need our colleges to prioritize American students. Companies do not hire H1B workers because there aren't any American workers to do the job they hire them because they will work long hours for slave wages. They typically aren't smarter or better workers and in fact have to learn the job and are typically trained by the American workers the company fires. End it! End H1B and send them all home.
Pass a law requiring hiring Americans and fine employers that hire non-citizens. Make it mandatory until there are zero people on welfare. Why would American students choose to go into STEM when the H1B programs are depressing wages for those jobs? When corporations are outsourcing and offshoring the jobs?
STEM degrees are difficult and arduous and there needs to be a comparable reward at the end of those degree programs. And universities degree programs are expensive. Many foreign students are not paying their own way, but are being sponsored by their home countries. I knew of several foreign grad students who were really nothing more than intelligence agents for their home countries. I have three STEM degrees, and have been in three different university STEM graduate programs. I've seen first hand the influx of foreign graduate students, many who are extremely talented, but are willing to take H1B jobs for a few years in order to get their green cards, undercutting the entry level wages for all STEM graduates. I have no issue with there being an H1B program, so long as it is properly limited and managed to only admit the brightest, and at a true market wage. And those admitted need to be vetted for cultural assimilation potential. I have spent my entire career of over thirty years in the world of high tech engineering, working both in-house and on projects as an outside consultant for global technology companies that are household names and that hire large numbers of H1-B visa employees. I really wish I could say that you are correct and that we don't need H1-B visa employees, but you are not. Yes, virtually all of these companies abuse the H1-B program to cut costs, but the fact remains that there is a chronic shortage of engineers and other STEM graduates.
The problem is multi-faceted, but it begins with collapsing birth rates, particularly among white, college-educated parents who have traditionally been the source of engineering-oriented students. Add to that the anti-male bias in our primary and secondary school systems and colleges that drives many young men away from college. And then stack on top of that the systemic discrimination in hiring and promotion against white men in the technology sector in the name of diversity. Against this backdrop, it's not surprising that nearly 90 percent of engineering students from MIT go to work for hedge funds or on Wall Street, where they will easily earn 10-20x the money they can make in a conventional engineering role. Addressing these issues is a Herculean task that will face massive opposition from entrenched, powerful political forces. I have little confidence that our systems can effect the changes necessary to correct our course. H1B is anti-American, anti-MAGA. Worse it brings in hundreds of thousands of unvetted possible spies and saboteurs into critical positions within the homeland. The fraud and abuse is huge and politicians are getting kickbacks so don't look to them to stop this travesty. Boycott companies who hire H1B's. Boycott their products/services, their stocks and actively lobby against them. Refuse to vote for politicians who "approve" of H1B and ask them their position on this issue before election and vote accordingly.
We are being invaded. Ironically our intelligence agencies, whose job is to keep us safe LOL, knows this, they know that spies are fraudulently using the H1B program. They know it is putting our critical systems in danger. They know that there is a H1B cartel run by foreign interests to invade and weaken the U.S. But did you see 100 former intel leaders write a letter warning us about it??? And you won't either because the corruption and payoffs run deep. H1B is the iceberg to our Titanic. It will destroy us, it is intended to destroy us, and if you speak up they will silence you. 'How Bird Flu Spread Unchecked, Posing a Pandemic Risk'
We heard that song and dance a few years ago. Maybe, maybe not. I think this guy has a case against the Jacksonville cops.
Was he shot by a DEI hire? Cop Shoots Florida Man with His Own Gun QUOTE: Arrington, who thought he was doing everything correctly, informed the officer that he had a gun on his person — a gun that he owned legally — and he was asked to step out of his vehicle and put his hands on his truck. Back-up arrived on the scene, and, according to Arrington, the back-up officer began to search him and attempted to remove the gun. "She tugged on the gun the first time, then she tugged again," Arrington said in a statement on Friday. "That's when I told her, 'Hey, let me unloosen my belt because it's tight.' I don't know, she might have got nervous or whatever and she pulled harder two more times and that's when it discharged and it shot me in my upper thigh, hip and came out on my right side." Arrington also said that didn't even understand why the officers wanted to remove the gun anyway. He said he posed no threat, and did everything they asked him to do, even keeping his hands on his vehicle after getting shot. While a request has been made to release the bodycam footage, the JSO said it could take six to eight months. https://pjmedia.com/sarah-anderson/2024/12/28/cops-shoot-florida-man-with-his-own-gun-n4935488 re There were 21 campus hate crime hoaxes uncovered in 2024
One wonders how many were not uncovered? These facts on CO2 that are discussed, have always been known. The history of atmospheric CO2 concentration is also well documented, well known. That the majority of greenhouse-related temperature shifting is already in place, with a lesser effect at increasing concentrations, also well known (i.e. CO2-related greenhouse temperature increase effect is non-linear).
The key is for these scientific facts to be recognized and incorporated by the IPCC, which is essentially a social and political construct used to effect policy changes for reasons that are likely not related to climate change. Aggie: The history of atmospheric CO2 concentration is also well documented, well known.
Carbon Dioxide vs Temperature: Last 400,000 years Aggie: That the majority of greenhouse-related temperature shifting is already in place, with a lesser effect at increasing concentrations, also well known You are correct. The natural greenhouse effect warms the Earth by about 33°C. Additional warming will be about 2-4°C per doubling of atmospheric CO2. Aggie: (i.e. CO2-related greenhouse temperature increase effect is non-linear) First-order, the relationship is logarithmic, which is why it is expressed per doubling of atmospheric CO2. How many times do I have to post the graph showing absolutely NO correlation between CO2 and temperature? Do you want it posted once again just for your benefit?

OPT was not legislated, just mandated. The UN and Clinton Foundation occupy an old US base in Panama to help supply illegal alies on their way to America.
