Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

I do not like to begin the links with something somewhat political, but this shows what Trump can do: Donald Trump's Remarkably Normal Press Conference

"Trump Wants to Fire Federal Employees Who Refuse to Return to Working in Offices" If your boss tells you you have to show up for work in your office and you don't want to, you shouldn't be employed there anymore. After covid began to fade out a family member said that the company was having a lot of trouble getting it's employees to get back in the office. The only way to show them who is the boss is to fire them. A company that lets their employees run rough shod over them won't stay in business very long.
What a simple way to "smoke out" sketchy employees. Next step, update job descriptions to require a minimum number of "on site" days as a condition of employment. Compliance will be rewarded. Non-compliance will be made redundant. Coming to a bureaucracy near you in January, God willing.
Re: Depraved Young People
Hindraker wrote in the article "Presumably the 41% who say that cold-blooded murder is A-OK don’t go to church." Funnily enough, I recently read an article about the results of a study. The conclusions were that people who regularly attended church were significanly less likely to commit violent crime. Talk about the "D'uh Department of Psience." re Biden Admin Sent $300M to Reuters to 'Look Into' Musk and His Companies?
I sent this to my lefty wife yesterday. She didn't understand it and asked me to explain it. So I did. Her reply was that I see conspiracies behind every tree. I believe this is a typical lefty viewpoint. re Our Depraved Young People
A poll found 41 percent of adults under 30 consider the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson acceptable, more than the 40 percent in that demographic who consider it unacceptable. I don't know what to make of this as there is no context here, and that is the problem with snapshot statistics. Have young people always thought this way or is this a new development? Do their views moderate with age? However, while viewing these stats at face value is concerning, the overall percentage is still low. I am not going to lose any sleep over it. "Liz Cheney Referred For Criminal Investigation"
We have experienced two massive criminal enterprises in 2021-2023. The most serious one was the covid scam that was so badly mishandled for political purposes that it unnecessarily killed hundreds of thousands of Americans and wasted trillions of dollars and every, I repeat EVERY federal department lied and conspired to commit this fraud and tyranny on America. An equally serious politically but less harmful to life and limb was the J6 conspiracy by Democrats. This was an attack by Democrats on America and only half a dozen Federal departments participated in this crime against the constitution. Liz Cheney knowingly and intentionally played a major part in this anti-American insurrectional crime. She did it for the classic reasons; money and power and it backfired on her. Partly because of her zeal and over reach but ironically partly because her Democrat co-conspirators threw her under the bus. Everyone on the J6 committee deserves jail time. All of the patriots that the Democrats sacrificed in their quest of power deserve pardons. Trump should appoint a special prosecutor, like judge Jeanine Pirro to investigate and prosecute the Democrats in congress. Nearly 8 Million Illegals Living in Sanctuary Cities Across U.S.
1. End all federal aid to illegals. No housing, no food stamps, no heath care, nothing. 2. Fine anyone hiring a person not legally in this country $1000 a day per illegal employee. 3. Require that every illegal caught must be deported within 24 hours or remain in jail no exceptions. QUOTE: Donald Trump's Remarkably Normal Press Conference ... I think {RFK Jr. is} going to be much less radical than you would think. Fluff. There is ample evidence Kennedy has radical views, including on vaccination and medical conspiracy theories. QUOTE: We don't do as well as a lot of other nations, and those nations use nothing. "Use nothing" is usual Trump blather. Does he mean no vaccines, or no pharmaceuticals, or no modern medicine? Each would be wildly incorrect. What other developed countries do have is universal or near universal health coverage. QUOTE: We're paying far too much, 'cause we are paying much more than other countries (for pharmaceuticals). True enough. QUOTE: We're going to knock out the middle man. Knocking out the middle man means reining in markets and probably means a larger role for government. QUOTE: I don't know who these middle men are, but they are rich as hell. He has concepts of a plan. "...has radical views,..." Just give me an operational definition of "radical" without reference to JFK, or at least with reference to people you would obviously support. So we can see that your comment is offered in good faith.
James4HJ: Just give me an operational definition of "radical" without reference to JFK
Merriam-Webster: radical, a : very different from the usual or traditional : EXTREME; b : favoring extreme changes in existing views, habits, conditions, or institutions Kennedy’ stated belief that “There is no vaccine that is, you know, safe and effective,” is far outside the mainstream and would mean extreme changes in existing policies. You are well on your way to describing Fauci. Safe and effective vaxx, 6 foot spacing for vaxx, cloth masks for vaxx and funding China for research that could not legally be done in the US. THAT IS RADICAL.
There is a video on YouTube that show the crime and chaos in most European cities because of unfettered illegal immigration from shithole countries. Then it shows video in Polish cities where even at night women can walk through the city, stores don't have to have guards and children are safe. Europe is being destroyed by illegal immigration. The Democrats are trying to destroy the U.S. through illegal immigration. Trump will try to reverse this and deport millions but watch as Democrat politicians and left wing judges use their power to stop him.
