We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Yes. Thanks for saying so, BD. There is so much snark and sarc and the like on the interwebs, it is refreshing that someone is willing to say it. I'm glad for the election results, for a promising new direction, and that a major comeuppance has finally come for the left. But another's mental illness is nothing to crow about; there is also a fine line between a just sense of vindication and taking glee in another's misery, even if they had it coming.
Seems to me that both winners and losers alike need to "gird up," so to speak: the winners, to get busy and get some long-awaited stuff done; the losers, to take come to grips with reality.
