Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

The Guardian coverage of the US election would have been hilarious if it weren't so pathetic.
Poor things. I cannot write any more on this for fear of slipping into schadenfreude for all the clever talking heads, especially Reich. Why do you feel sorry for MN? As a political and economic refugee from my former home of the Soviet Socialist State of Minnesota, I can only say that they will get exactly what they deserve, since that's what they vote for. Our old neighborhood in SW Minneapolis (the Heart of the Hive™) routinely votes 75% for the Marxist lunatics, even including Ilhan "Marry Your Brother" Omar, who was given her House seat by Keith Muhammed X. Ellison when he made his way into the MN AG's office, where he has implemented de facto sharia law in parts of the state.
We voted with our feet since we retired because even a blind man could see this coming. Have fun burning down your state, former fellow Minnesnowtans. I'm a Minnesota refugee as well. Thought I might even retire back there but it has been going downhill for a long time. The crap started with HH Humphrey and continues through Waltz. Tax, tax, tax, spend, spend, spend, race, race, race. No Thanks.
I've been to the Twin Cities once many years ago; it was enjoyable. I agree with you 100%. I don't feel sorry for those who live and vote there now; they got exactly what they voted for and deserve Tim Walz, since the cities swamp the rural swath of MN populated by "normies" (who I do feel sorry for).
Colleges ignoring courts decisions... I suspect the colleges will find they lose access to student loan funds, grants, and any other financial aid. And, just as all the lawsuits were filed against Trumps association with for profit education, look for education to be held liable for providing worthless credentials for useless majors and specialty classes with little future value. Those old, unpaid student loans could be an albatross around the neck of the universities that fail to see the light.
Following the links is SO educational. Today I learned about calm jars. Apparently a large fraction of our university students are mildly retarded developmentally challenged.
Minnesota has not yet hit rock bottom, but they are fast approaching. The state is run by the Twin Cities and wealthy suburbs…all woke and all victims and apologizing for every hurt feeling. The party is the DFL—Democrat Farm Labor—party. Long ago they forgot about the farmers and the laborers. My best day was MN in the rear view mirror.
Reich resistance... is that measured in Ohms or OMG now what.
Remember that Robert Reich was in favor of vaccine mandates during covid-19. So much for his "resistance" to government violation of bodily autonomy.
Praise the Lord! What a glorious day. The republic lives. I pray that Trump governs wisely.
I was wrong about Kamala getting 90 million votes. Which makes me really wonder about Biden getting 81 million. Robert Reiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicha (in remembrance of El Rushbo) What a lunatic. He sounds similar to our communist friend who shows up here regularly. Show me one woman that has been denied health care because of a miscarriage? What a fantastic lie. I couldn’t read much further. I heartily support deportations of all troublesome illegals. Especially gang bangers and pro-hamas terrorists. They should be scared. I hope they are. I wonder, will the states that entered the popular vote compact, tell their electors to vote for Trump? He did win the popular vote. Or will they show themselves to be the ultimate hypocrites that we all know they are? Stand for your convictions losers. We have entered back to the days of dissent being the highest form of patriotism. Hers’s hoping Trump cleans house in the government. Start with the Department of Justice and Department of Defense. Reinstate: Duty, Honor, Country at West Point. It’s past time to reinstitute love of America and the ideals she was founded upon at our service academies. Fire flag officer that ever supported the woke, anti-American agenda. General Milley should be made an example of, a court-martial should be convened. Gut the FBI and CIA. Get rid of all the trash that has become the lawfare arm of the democrat party. There are 51 of them that need their security clearances revoked. And please, please, please pass a federal budget and cut spending. The list of cuts is huge! B. Hammer: Show me one woman that has been denied health care because of a miscarriage?
A Woman Died After Being Told It Would Be a “Crime” to Intervene in Her Miscarriage at a Texas Hospital. You’re welcome. It's called medical malpractice., dumbass.
Learn the difference Quibble-DickZ . Now STFU and go away. You're annoying the adults. The Texas law has a health of the mother exception.
“The patient must have a life-threatening condition and be at risk of death or "substantial impairment of a major bodily function" if the abortion is not performed.” Which was obviously the case here. There’s more to the story here than ProPublica is reporting. Anon_: The Texas law has a health of the mother exception.
The medical team would not know for sure if there was a risk of death or impairment until sepsis actually set in. If they act preemptively, the doctor and anyone who assists can be charged and then they have to defend themselves with a very uncertain outcome. In any case, B. Hammer's question was asked and answered.

QUOTE: The medical team would not know for sure if there was a risk of death or impairment until sepsis actually set in. That's incorrect, dumbass. Again Quibble-DickZ you have absolutely no clue about medical matters or legal interpretations so just STFU and go away.

We had friends who managed the Penske truck yard here in my little university town. Starting in mid June and going until October there used to be about three trucks a week arrive from other states. When Minnesota and Wisconsin started to riot the number of trucks increased to approximately 10/week. If I recall correctly it may have been about 17 trucks one week. ALL of those trucks were bringing in middle aged/older couples who were escaping from Minnesota and Wisconsin, Michigan. So Blackwing and Indyjones, if you are among those --welcome! I know Bull Dog came out for a look around before he got sick. Too rural for him and his wife.
BTW how is Bull Dog doing? I've said it before, Obama made a serious miscalculation when he decided to change the format of the White House Correspondent Dinner those many years ago. Instead of roasting the candidates, he decided to re-position the spotlight and roast Donald Trump instead, in an ambush of sorts. His 'Birth Certificate' controversy was a dirty trick from Hillary Clinton, but Trump had repeated it, in public. And now, he was the subject to be humiliated. If you look at the old videos, you can see him sitting there, taking it, and getting madder and madder. He subsequently made himself a candidate and ran, in 2016.
Obama is all done now. The lawfare will evaporate together with Obama's dream of a proxied fourth term. He'll sell the DC mansion soon, I would think, since there's no reason to keep it. Obama was the biggest loser last night. It was HIS party that he wrestled away from the Clintons. Now it is a party without any kind of anchor or future. And Obamacare... soon to be gone. Trump/Kennedy will retool provider care and the costs of insurance.
Ever since that 1968 Time Magazine cover, we have been blessed with his presence in the spotlight. [sarc]
QUOTE: Taking our country back … The answer is simply that they want to distract everyone away from the definition of fascism that eviscerates all their facile attacks using the word. Fascism is defined as a far-right, authoritarian, ultranationalist ideology. See Britannica. QUOTE: The word Fascism is defined as: As an economic system, fascism is socialism with a capitalist veneer. The author of the definition was trained as a commercial artist, a libertarian, and does not accurately represent historical opinion. Fascists advocated for a strictly hierarchical society, which puts them on the political right. Consider that neo-fascists and white supremacists are almost universally considered to be on the far right. QUOTE: Note that it is closely associated with socialism and thus the far-left side of the political spectrum. Again, no. Fascists explicitly redefined socialism to suit their propaganda needs. Fascism is “socialism” like a military hierarchy is “socialism”, but it has little in common with socialism proper which is egalitarian in nature. QUOTE: But again they carefully lie and leave out the fact that the Original Social Justice Warrior and his manure-colored mob were socialists. In no way was Hitler’s use of the term “social justice”, entailing the extermination of Jews and Romani and the military subjugation of Europe, the same as the modern usage. You are simply redefining fascism per the European Brits. It entered the lexicon as a French parliament definition. Fascists sitting on the right side and communists on the left side. All were socialists/progressives and proud of it. Vichy French vs Mitterrand communists. Only American academics are blind to the "Enlightenment" believers and their body count. Never forget the Vendee as even the French look away from their own treachery and GOD.
Mock the troll, make fun of the troll, but to engage the troll in an 'honest discussion' is fruitless.
I see this forum as a bunch of people that like each other, sitting around a table and having fun discussions. Zach-GPT is just that annoying outsider that tries to bring the high-school debate vibe to a bar table discussion. Super annoying and socially unaware. This is an excellent explainer for those who don’t understand how Trump won – and sort of a liberal Western anti-woke manifesto. Long but worth it, and excerptable:

https://americanmind.org/features/what-trump-should-do-if-he-wins/a-trump-agenda-for-day-one/ Reich comes across as a serious paranoiac. Either that or he’s calculating how much scratch he can generate from his anti-Trump screeds.
Robert Reich is in no position to claim resistance to anything. He was fully on-board with the restrictions democrats wanted to impose on those of us who refused the clot shots:
