Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

"Gentle parenting" We have seen this type of parenting in both sides of our family. Punishments like time out and kind words turn the kids into total tyrants. I won't let them in my house as I don't want them destroying the life we have made for ourselves. Latest was one uncontrollable kid that when being told to behave slapped his mother in the face. Dad said to apologize and that was it. I don't want a kid beaten but some other type of discipline needs to happen or as they grow older they will really become dangerous to others.
"University Professors Are Approaching Near Unanimity As A Democratic Lock"
In totally unrelated news University Professors Are Approaching Near Unanimity As A socialist Lock. The only subculture that thinks a stick up their a$$ is a fashion statement.
Storied Leftist News Magazine ‘The Nation’ Withdraws Endorsement of Kamala Harris
Not so. The Nation's editorial board endorses Kamala, but its interns do not. QUOTE: Just weeks later, discontented editorial interns —yes, interns—at the magazine published an open letter in a blistering article. That is, crazy Kamala wasn't crazy enough for the deranged lefty interns at The Nation.“The Biden administration’s action, and inaction, in Gaza—and her support for those policies—should have been enough to disqualify her,” according to the website. The Nation interns have penned a searing critique of Kamala, accusing her of complicity in policies that they claim “promote genocide.” QUOTE: Trump says something seemingly insane, to many people’s outrage and disbelief, only to have his supposed “lie” revealed to be wholly or at least significantly true … Trump’s exaggerations or garbling of the details. Exaggerating or garbling of the details is a significant problem. When Trump claims, without evidence, that illegal immigrants are eating cats and dogs, it undermines his credibility on the issue, while targeting a marginalized community. (The Haitians in Springfield are largely legal immigrants who were invited there to work—you know, the America dream.) QUOTE: On the one hand the Democrats conjured out of thin air the claim that Trump colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election It wasn’t out of thin air. The evidence showed that Russia was interfering in the election, that Russian agents had contacts within the Trump campaign constituting a “grave” national security threat, and worst of all, that the Trump campaign welcomed Russian interference. Correct, it wasn't out of thin air. It was a dirty trick by the Democrats and FBI, abetted by a willing press. And useful idiots like you, of course. Hell, the whole evil crew had a meeting in the Whitehouse about how the Clinton bunch were pushing the Trump/Russia narrative.
And don't forget Hilary to Perkins Coie/Marc Elias to Steele to Russian intelligence assets to FBI to FISA court. Some actual collusion you can sink your teeth into right there, Zachie-poo! Twit. SK: Correct, it wasn't out of thin air. It was a dirty trick by the Democrats and FBI, abetted by a willing press.
While you seemed to reply to our comment, you ignored the content: The evidence showed that Russia was interfering in the election, that Russian agents had contacts within the Trump campaign constituting a “grave” national security threat, and worst of all, that the Trump campaign welcomed Russian interference. And you ignored my content, that it was the CLINTON campaign who actually colluded with the Russians. But clearly you're OK with that.
Like I said, you're a useful idiot, the very sort of gullible fool targeted by disinformation campaigns. Iran's workin' on your little mind this time, ain't they? Twit. SK: CLINTON campaign who actually colluded with the Russians
Our information comes in part from the Republican-led bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee, which had access to classified sources, and which found that Russia was interfering in the election, that Russian agents had contacts within the Trump campaign constituting a “grave” national security threat, and worst of all, that the Trump campaign welcomed Russian interference. These finding have been substantiated by more evidence since then. What evidence do you have that the Clinton campaign colluded with Russia? Oh please! The only evidence that was substantiated was that HiIlary paid for the fabricated Steele Dossier and that it was a hoax that launched Operation Crossfire (another hoax).
Maybe Quibble-DickZ should STFU and go away. Stop annoying the adults with your lies. The senate intelligence committee gets its intelligence from the same corrupt IC cult that was led by Brennen with an assist from Comey. Do notice this same group of liars insisted the Biden laptop was Russian disinformation and we still haven't heard what was in the Weiner laptop. Russia, Russia, Russia, was an IC hoax that only the most gullible would fall for. Even Isikoff from Yahoo became an information 'launderer' for the IC clowns.
"When Trump claims, without evidence, that illegal immigrants are eating cats and dogs, it undermines his credibility on the issue," Hum. He didn't make up the charge out of thin air. There is video of cats being grilled in Dayton which is nearby. An inordinate number of reports have been made to officials in Springfield and other cities with large number of Haitian or African immigrants of missing pets. Eating cats and dogs is a thing in Hati in part due to the fact that it is one of the poorest countries in the world, has a large urban population, and is just about the only pace in the western hemisphere with a serious malnutrition problem. One people develop certain culinary tastes, the tend to continue them. You have no clue what evidence Trump had or didn't have, so you're lying when you claim he didn't have evidence.
Russia has run "influence" operations in every US presidential election since the 1950s. The commonality in all of those operations is that the targets they used as dupes, and the voters they sought to move were always LW and democrat. The US intelligence people you're citing were part of the operation, presumably at the behest of the Clinton campaign. You keep coming back to a claim that depends on the absurd premise that Putin would have preferred Trump as US president to Clinton. Until you can offer a plausible defense of that premise, you sound like an Idiot. It is amazing that you keep coming back to claims like this when 99%+ of voters have already made up their minds on the subject, and a large % reject your position. As demonstrated by the current polling and early votes. You're helping Trump every time you say things like that. James4HJ: He didn't make up the charge out of thin air.
Actually, it was. It started with a Facebook post that her daughter’s friend’s mother’s acquaintance had lost a pet. Then, it was bounced around the far right before finally being amplified by Vance and Trump. The police, the mayor, the governor have all stated there is no evidence to substantiate the claim. James4HJ: Russia has run "influence" operations in every US presidential election since the 1950s. The commonality in all of those operations is that the targets they used as dupes, and the voters they sought to move were always LW and democrat. The Soviet Union supported left-wing groups and propaganda. However, Russia is no longer Soviet, but a capitalist kleptocracy. James4HJ: You keep coming back to a claim that depends on the absurd premise that Putin would have preferred Trump as US president to Clinton. Of course they sought to damage Clinton to help Trump. That’s why they released the Clinton campaign emails when they did, to provide Trump the greatest advantage. As for why, Trump was an agent of chaos, fracturing the alliances that defend the peace. Trump still suggests he will leave NATO and stop giving aid to Ukraine. These are all to Russia’s strategic aims. Remember: the Left's unhinged apocalyptic rhetoric is not just the progressive fools projecting their fascist tendencies outward - it is also the hard core, ruthless Marxist warriors building the justification for violent revolution after the elections, and ginning up the crazies.
Lefties never just shrug and say "OK you won, here's the football." There will be violence after a Trump victory. Authoritarians are the reason I refuse to live in or around a city of any size. The cities are full of them along with the politicians that are happy to tolerate them.
The stand on one leg test has to be BS.
I'm right dominant and 72. I had my wife time me standing on my left leg with my right leg lifted up high. She quit at 120 seconds and declared the article bullshit and told me to sit down, stop doing knee bends, which I was, and to shut up already. I would definitely refuse to take the field sobriety test because of my age. Balance issues and peripheral neuropathy. No one should take field sobriety tests, the lawyers advise against it. It doesn't matter how good you perform it if the cop wants to decide that you failed it then you failed it.
After reading the article I just had to try it and when I did it with both legs in my slippers on the carpet I started to laugh. My wife heard me in the next room so I explained. I was 80 years old back in May.
