Why kids should read obituaries" I agree with the author about kids reading obits. I have an old family book where ancestors pasted obits in the pages of a book they no longer read. The information in those old obits, even more than those of today, give historical information about the family member that has not been noted anywhere else in letters or other papers. One even told of a family member that was thought to be a murderer walking down the sidewalk with the rope he later hanged himself with in a barn up the street. They list family information that has long been lost over time.

In the article about flu it said "Each flu season, about 8% of people in the United States get sick with influenza." But don't be mislead into thinking that only 8% get the flu. It is closer to 80% or 90% who get the flu. But most healthy people show few or no symptoms. same with the common cold. If you go out in public you get colds and flu. If you're healthy or your body tends to exhibit few symptoms you will barely notice that you are ill. Masks and 6 feet won't prevent it. You can catch the flu by merely walking down an empty aisle in a grocery store that moments before someone with the flu had walked down it. The more likely way to catch the flu is to touch something and at some point after that touch your eyes or nose. Nurses and doctors catch colds and flu from patients all the time but few of them even notice it. Children catch flues and colds all the time and usually present symptoms but rarely debilitating symptoms that would require hospitalization. We all know that person who claims to never catch a cold but in fact they do catch the cold but their immune system doesn't react much to it, the cold or flu runs it's course and they barely notice. This can be because of good health, variation in immune system, genetic, pure chance, who knows. But we all get the colds and flu that is making the rounds.

I used to teacch school many decades ago and for the first few years I seemed to catch everything going around. Once even the German measles but then for decades I never seemed to catch anything going around until we had grandkids, then their "bug" we different from the "bugs" I had built up immunity to from teaching. I then began to come down with things going around as viruses had mutated through the years.

Hmm... I don't recall saying a thing about Ukraine, so please don't waste your time trying to put words in my mouth, thanks.

I will say this: Russia's invasion - excuse me, special military operation - has been an abject failure so far. It's taken two years and nearly eight months to get nowhere much at all.

I'm a fence setter on what, if anything, we ought to be doing regarding the Russian invasion of the Ukraine. For the most part neither side of the debate has done a good job at defending their position or refuting their opponent's position. Both are prone to hyperbole and oversimplification with a helping of conspiracy on the side.

That said, anyone whose emotions and moral sympathies do not incline them towards support for Ukraine is either emotionally or morally defective. And there is far too much of that going around on the right these days for my taste.

Further, as to whether Ukraine can win, that depends on one's definition of winning. What is certain, however, is that Russia has already suffered a strategic defeat that it cannot recover from. Further, they reached that point well over two years ago. No matter how extensive an operational victory they may achieve in the future, that loss will not be redeemed. They are continuing the war at this point purely to preserve Putin's political power.

We should be telling Ukraine to draw up terms of surrender and then negotiating it with Russia for them. The ultimatum should be that we abandon them to fend for themselves.

Zelensky is not likely to survive the decisions he made for Ukraine. Will it be an insider or an outsider? He can thank the State department, Nuland, and the CIA along with a MSM assist for his delusional thinking about the final outcome.

Why don't you regale me with what you would do if you were the ruler of a country which was invaded by a country with three times your population, GDP, and military equipment? A country that had a historical record of documented atrocities against your ancestors who obviously intended to violently and permanently occupy the who of your country.

Alternatively, you could explain why you are so morally defective that you can't express an iota of condemnation for the country that is clearly the bad guy, Russia.

They have. We should not fail to credit the Ukrainians for not just their dogged persistence, but also their tactical and operational flexibility and innovation. Which they would not have had the opportunity to demonstrate without the initial gross incompetence of the Russians.

Why are there fewer boys in college? You would not believe how many resources there are for women to go to college. Not just money but there is an entire countries budget worth of money available for free if you are female. And every college in the country has created fake courses for females because they can't do math and shit. And there are a million programs and grants for people of color or uncertain sexual preference too. And classes designed just for them because they can't do math or speak and write either. But there is ZERO for white males. This is NOT accidental! Your government hates you.

The article talks about the effect on men and how they are dealing with this discrimination but it doesn't talk about the devastating effect this is having on our country. It is likely that your female or POC doctor is clueless and that her boss is also clueless that her subordinates are clueless. It used to be that your nurse was competent and had your best interests in mind but today it is more likely that they don't know what they are doing and that they actually hate you if you are white/male/not POC etc. Ditto for engineers and teachers and bureaucrats. We are graduating idiots from college simply because they are in the right group of preferred people. And we are concentrating those graduates in hate studies and basket weaving. America is becoming the largest third world country and it is not by accident. The chaos is by intent; Cloward/Pivin strategy. We are being set up to fail and collapse.

I know two people in different ends of this country who are in the military reserves who have both been notified to be ready for deployment. No further information, no date, no location, nothing. It was almost like a "get your affairs in order" rather than a planned or typical deployment. No one has seen this before and it is spooking the guard and reservists. Anyone else hearing this?

Fewer boys in college, not a problem.
When fewer girls than boys attended college, it was a major crisis caused by systemic misogyny. Layers of bureaucracy, vast sums of money and female only programs were mobilized to overcome this tyranny.

Most outlets continue to make these claims. And why wouldn't they? Every incentive at every level aligns to continue down this path.

Compared to other nations,we already have a crisis in terms of fewer men graduating in fields of science. If it ever comes to pass that our society recognizes this crisis I am certain men well once again be blamed for this outcome.
