We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

The Democrats found they have no need for the deplorable Wal-Mart shoppers. They have found other ways to gather votes that don't require promises or commitments.

In any event, if their goal is to reduce an entire class of people to serfdom, the Dems are not going to be popular with them.

The Democrats have captured large voting blocks. Union members, gay, Indians, women and specifically single mothers, recent immigrants and children of immigrants. So they have for years felt that they could ignore and denigrate those that don't embrace them. They captured these groups by handing out free stuff. What this has done is nudged them into a Marxist/communist philosophy. Not because they are communist but simply because those "early" communist traits allow them to capture these large voting blocks. But in the last 2-3 decades they have morphed from simply espousing the economic policies of communism to embracing the enforcement policies of a communist government; jail the dissenters and your political opponents, create phony crimes, hate crimes, to ensnare anyone who doesn't agree with you or at least bow down to you. turn the government into a police state. This is where we are now. The logical progression widespread poverty, repression, shortages of food and necessities, rule by an iron fist, etc. is the next step. Again; not because they "are" or think they are communist but simply because the communist philosophy gets them what they want while each step in the evolution/revolution to the end game doesn't seem "so bad".

Just understand there is no going back. You can't vote yourself out of communism/dictatorship and you cannot argue or reason yourself out of it. IF you try you will be rewarded with a Tiananmen Square response and a much quicker transformation to full on communist rule. There is only one way out of communism and that would be full on revolt by a majority of the people. I don't think that has ever been successful, that is not only overthrowing communist rule but restoring the previous democratic system, or in our case the constitutional republic.

Just understand there is no going back. You can't vote yourself out of communism/dictatorship and you cannot argue or reason yourself out of it.

Venezuela illustrates that all too well. In 2015, the opposition won two thirds of the seats in the national Assembly- the equivalent of our Congress. No problem for Maduro: he dissolved the Assembly. In the recent election, from the paper printouts of results from 80%+ of the voter centers, Maduro lost by about 70-30, a YUUGE loss. (A difference between now and 2015 is that Maduro lost this year in the districts that Chavismo used to carry.) Similar result. Maduro stays in office.
Current proposals to have another election are pure nonsense. Maduro and the Cubans will simply do a better job of cheating.


You cannot vote yourself out of Communism.


In 1989, the ruling Commissars had lost the will to enforce their will with blood. Maduro and his Cuban assistants have no hesitation in a bloodletting to enforce the fraudulent election results. I wonder if a suicide truck filled with you-now-what that rams the Cuban Embassy would help change any minds.

Tiananmen Square was not at all what you have been led to believe. There was no massacre. The lone tank shown in the photo was actually part of a tank squadron heading away from the Square. It is always assumed the tank ran over the lone "protester". No such photo exist-why not? The rest of your comment is spot on.

They must stop Trump. They will jail him or assassinate him or steal the election or if the "worst" happens and he somehow wins they will sabotage him. Either way this election is the defining moment in our evolution to a communist style government. It has been incremental until now but they cannot afford to allow Trump to win and if he does they cannot afford to let him have power. They fear not just for their own power and political agenda but they also fear for their lives if he were to expose what they have done. The next five months and beyond are the most important time in our history since 1775.

This may all seem hyperbolic and overstated. That is just because by necessity the left has been deceitful and extremely effective purveyors of propaganda thanks to the compliant MSM. The covers will soon come off.

Except that most people do care. It's part of human nature. It's why parents nurture their children, why people help their neighbors, why Medal of Honor winners braved injury or death for the sake of their fellow soldiers or for their country. But not everyone cares: As Trump said, they're "suckers" for caring.

There has been a surprising amount of pushback to the idea that the altar stone did not come from Wales as has been believed, rather than the evidence that it comes from the Orkneys. Many of the objections do not seem to notice that the researchers have already considered those possibilities. I don't know how it's going to shake out. It could be an erratic that was nearer than Scotland. But the objections feel like people just don't want it to be true. There were sheep bones from Scotland in the Stonehenge circuit. If flocks of sheep, why not a great-looking rock?

The DOJ was already weaponized by Obama and Holder by the time Trump made that statement. Hillary already had a 'leaking' illegal server and Obama/Brennen/Clapper and 17 intelligence agencies along with Christopher Steele and British Intelligence had been spying on him and other Republican candidates for at least 2 years. Harris is just the latest recipient of spying by the corrupted admin state. It was Admiral Rogers that let that cat out of the bag.

But by all means... keep pretending. And send Jack Smith back to the B leagues. He wasn't even legally appointed... just another source of lawfare by the admin state.

The satellite image found in her unclassified email would have sent me to jail. I signed paperwork every year acknowledging that. And before you ask, it didn't matter whether she or someone else loaded it. Failure to report IS a felony.

There were no classified satellite images in Clinton emails.

If Clinton broke the law, she should be held to account like any other citizen, but there was no prosecutable crime uncovered. Notably, Trump and Trump-appointed Attorneys General were in power for four years, so there was ample opportunity. Leading mobs in chanting “Lock her up!” undermines the rule of law.

Did you know that the government conspires with companies to hire illegals. In that process they provide a SSN for the illegals. And of course the company withholds employment taxes and withholding for income taxes and gives that money to the federal government. But that money never makes it to the proper coffers. It goes into a secret slush fund that as of today is valued at $1.7 trillion dollars. How much is left in this slush fund and what was spent out of this fund and on what? We don't know and may never know. Nancy Pelosi and Obama know.
