Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

re Brits Are Being Arrested for Social Media Posts Now
You can run but you can't hide . . . QUOTE: Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is threatening to prosecute a resident for “spread[ing]” what has been labeled as “misleading or false” election-related information, according to a “cease and desist” letter reported Tuesday. This comes just days after The Federalist revealed Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson is urging residents to report their neighbors for so-called “election misinformation.” https://thefederalist.com/2024/08/07/letter-from-michigan-ag-threatens-resident-with-prosecution-for-misleading-election-information/ Met Police Commissioner Mark Rowley threatens to EXTRADITE and imprison American citizens over online posts.

I am sure the Kamala administration would be happy to oblige with the extraditions. At least until she gets her Schutzstaffel up and running. Whenever I read Walz's name, I can't help but be reminded of the retarded character from "South Park" with the same name. "Timmah!"
This will date me but I can’t help it. Tim walz reminds me of the famous cartoon character Elmer Fudd…the hat, the hunting vest, and the shotgun…in the never ending quest to get the wascilly wabbit.
Pentagon Refuses To Rule Out Strikes On Moscow In Shocking Exchange On Ukraine's Incursion Into Kursk

Of course everybody knew (btw - "everybody" includes all Democratic politicians and all press in Washington DC). The next question is since almost all of those people tried to hide the mental condition of the president (and in the case of VP Harris, under the 25th Amendment it is her duty to monitor the president's capability to do his job), why should we believe anything they say? QUOTE: Everybody knew about Biden Sure. Biden was recently ranked 14th out of 46 greatest presidents by historians. Regardless of partisan bent, historians ranked Trump at or near the bottom. Lincoln, Washington, and FDR were the top three as usual. Not too bad. Historians tend to be funded by the academy. I would expect no other result from their rankings. I'm only surprised Wilson wasn't in there instead of Washington.
Ouch - that display of non-sequitur whiplash must have hurt you. Are you going to be OK? Maybe an ice pack for your neck?
Maypo: non-sequitur
The fact that Biden has had a historically successful presidency is pertinent to his competency. For instance, the infrastructure investment is a generation or more overdue, and even Republicans who fought against the bill keep trying to take credit for the funding to fix local bridges and other infrastructure. Infrastructure? Like all those EV charging stations?
Mike Anderson: Like all those EV charging stations?
These things take time, especially with something new. For instance, West Virginia is still working on awarding contracts, while Oklahoma is still taking public comment.

A successful presidency must include an illegal alien invasion and stirring up a shitstorm with Russia in order to reduce the Ukrainian population while employing the neocon cult to keep them busy and off the street.
Partisan breakdown (2024)
Democrats – 95 Republicans – 15 Independents/Others – 44 Liberals – 98 Conservatives – 20 Moderates – 36 Citing a cherry-picked group of "expert's" ranking based on nebulous, subjective, unstated criteria of X is not the flex you seem to think it is. Particularly when they are likely a self-selecting, highly partisan group engaged in disseminating propaganda.
Amazing that you're able to submerge that obvious fact deeply enough in your self-conscious that you can even submit such an absurd comment. James4HJ: Particularly when they are likely a self-selecting, highly partisan group engaged in disseminating propaganda.
Even those who were conservative rated Trump near the bottom of the pile. I'll give you this: you're consistent. All you're pointing out is that my characterization of the group as self-selecting and biased is correct. The "conservative" members are either pro establishment or are surrendering to perceived social desirability, which is especially powerful among high status white collar professions like college professors. Keep in mind, a large majority of the professors surveyed would have insisted that Joe Biden was just fine cognitively two months ago. Or, at least refuse to admit that he wasn't. That's the level of credibility their, and your opinion on the subject should be given.
And your fondness for alleged experts is consistent. A much better measure for someone that was fond of freedom, civil rights, and representative government would be public approval ratings adjusted to the extent the media attempted to either undermine or support the president. Given the historically unprecedented level of lying the media did to prop up Biden and to undermine Trump, the fact that Biden has horrible approval ratings is a hint that he's a large failure.

All you are doing is repeating your previous bald claim, a claim without evidence but confidently stated. James4HJ: A much better measure for someone that was fond of freedom, civil rights, and representative government would be public approval ratings adjusted to the extent the media attempted to either undermine or support the president. If you were to apply that measure to Lincoln, he was unpopular in most of the country (in 1864, winning just 55% of the vote in the northern states, and almost universally despised in the southern states). And while Dr. King wasn't president, by your measure of greatness, he would not be great, having had very low approval ratings during his lifetime. Rankings by historians are only a single measure, but they are one authoritative or objective measure more than anyone else has provided. While Biden certainly doesn't rank with FDR or LBJ in terms of legislative accomplishments, considering how closely Congress has been divided, his legislative record is substantial.

Canada's Supreme Court has refused Jorden Peterson's appeal of his commitment to a re-education camp for thought crimes on social media. THIS is exactly the purpose of the "hate crime" accusations. They want to be able to jail you for hate crimes and they get to decide what a hate crime is. This is already fact in England and Australia, and of course every communist country, but I digress. The real purpose behind the lefts obsession with the racist and hate crime accusation is to punish those who disagree with them. They will need a majority on our Supreme Court to get there but if they steal this election, and odds are that they will, they will probably get that majority.
