re Hinderaker: Where do we go from here?

Hinderacker is only partly right about the Trump conviction being a Fort Sumter moment. While it is true that he is the first presidential candidate to become the victim of lawfare, the real Fort Sumter moment was when the J6ers were rounded up and tossed in jail for even less wrong doing than the negligible charges against Trump.

Where do we go from here? I think we will continue to drift along on our present course.

I don't think Republicans in general have the courage to fight back against the Dems. I also believe it to be a reflection of their voters. There isn't going to be any Republican street protests, there will just be the usual weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. In any event, no one wants to get the J6 treatment, and life is still too good to risk it fighting a weaponized legal system.

Maybe another stolen election will rouse people into action? Or not.

Many of the J6 rioters have been convicted of violent assault against the police. Some have been convicted of seditious conspiracy. That's hardly negligible. Did you really not see video of assaults against the police?

They kinda left out completely the raw videos of Capitol Police shooting tear gas cannisters willy-nilly into the mostly peaceful demonstration in order to provoke a riot.

Very unlikely. Trump will be released on bail pending appeal regardless of the sentence he receives.

Why would the judge let Trump go on bail?

After conviction, the entire point of the trial was to keep Trump from campaigning. Jail does that.

If you hate Trump badly enough, and I think the judge does, the one thing you want more than anything is to see Trump rot in jail. The Left has fantasized about it for years.

Jailing Trump would make the judge a hero on the Left.

From your point of view, what is the downside of jailing Trump?

In New York, stays pending appeal are not automatic. While the judge has discretion, the presumption in New York is a stay pending an appeal, except on conviction of certain crimes, such as a class A felony. See New York Criminal Procedure Law § 530.50.

My prediction is that Trump will not be president. Exactly how that happens I can not know. Most likely the election will be stolen at the ballot box but it is not beyond the Democrats to "take him out" between the election and Jan 20th. I also predict that Biden won't be president either. Again I don't know what those in power will do to circumvent this but most likely at the Democrat convention Gov Newsome will be chosen to run and he will be president in Jan 2025 no matter what it takes to make that happen. By the time a new president is seated Biden will have imported in excess of 15 million illegals/replacements and Newsome will do little to nothing to stop that invasion. The next president may well bring in another 15 million invaders/replacements.

There has never been a more critical time for America. The left and the useful idiots are covering up as much as possible the evidence and effects but without some immediate intervention America is over, the fat lady is clearing her throat, the band is rearranging the deck chairs.

Plus I don't recall Nixon sitting in a court of law, being prosecuted and convicted.

Yes it was a crime committed to expose a crime by the Democrats. But it had nothing to do with Nixon. That's where the lawfare came in they used their surrogates to make it appear that nixon was responsible and it apparently worked fairly well because here you are some 50 plus year later still thinking Nixon did it.

Have you ever been mugged or in a street fight? It is more or less natural for humans to prefer to not start a fight. Some people more than others. This is what a street fighter or a mugger depends on as they approach to do you harm. But if you have been in a street fight or two you don't let anyone get close to you without preparing to fight them and arms length is crossing the Rubicon. The left/communist who are behind what I see is a planned coup to destroy and take over America are in the process of bum rushing us and most Americans are reluctant to prepare to defend themselves and their country. Most Americans have zero experience in this street fight mentality and are ignorant of what is happening. In my opinion it is almost too late. What we should be doing is the equivalent of what the IRA was doing in Ireland only smarter and more focused. The enemy is within they intend to take over your country and effectively enslave you. I am reminded of something I read in the comments years ago, "what if in the 1930's Hitler and a few of his NAZI's had been assassinated"? It would have changed history and saved 100 million lives. This is America's 1930's. The left intends to Make America a communist dictatorship. They are almost within arm's length of doing that. In fact it may already be too late. It would not surprise me if Trump committed suicide tomorrow or the next day. You laugh! In the last four years all of the so-called conspiracy theories have proved to be true. Did you laugh at them too?

The Fauci chronicles continue on Capital Hill. He is still claiming that the vaccine saved lives and prevented the spread of covid. I believe both claims are provably false. Most of those who died were vaccinated. The vaccine didn't prevent deaths. The general health and age of the individual seems to be the only defense we had. The vaccine didn't prevent the spread of covid. All of those who were vested in the vaccine over time agreed as the evidence showed that the vaccinated could still spread covid. It is most probable that everyone in the U.S. got covid. Many didn't get sick, certainly most didn't die but everyone was exposed to it and got it even if they never showed symptoms. The masks and 6 foot distancing and one way aisles in the supermarket did nothing to prevent the spread. The approved treatment once hospitalized, Remdesivir, didn't cure it and in fact almost certainly caused many deaths. The only viable and over time proven effective medications for it were Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine which ironically was banned by the CDC in favor of the useless vaccine. Literally every conspiracy theory about covid was proved to be true and everything from the "believe the science" crowd was proved to be wrong. Coincidence???

That is incorrect. Start with the fact that hospitals and morgues were being overrun by COVID victims in severe respiratory distress months before the vaccine was even available.

“Died of something completely unrelated” would not explain the surge in cases and deaths. Intubation was only used in patients when their oxygen levels had already dropped to dangerous levels. Virtually, all patients put on ventilators would have died otherwise. See Papoutsi et al., Effect of timing of intubation on clinical outcomes of critically ill patients with COVID-19, Critical Care 2021.

And yet when the president sent hospital ships to NY City and built massive temporary treatment centers in NY they were never used, not at all. Why was that? And when NY City wanted more and more equipment to treat those patients that too went unused, thousands of unused ventilators were given away, never used and never needed. Most of those who died in NY City where the people Gov Cuomo killed when he mandated that covid patients become roomies with old people in poor health in nursing homes. So much that happened was either a coverup or was covered up. Still to this day the left has hired bots on blogs defending and distorting what happened back then. We even have one of those on this blog!
