We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Yes indeed. It is what many of us commenting at Maggie's see in our crystal balls.

Of course if this comes to pass, a much smaller auto industry will be require to manufacture the tiny percentage of new ICE vehicles that will be allowed. That will throw a lot of people out of work.

Government will then have to turn its attention to the sale of new and used car repair parts. Otherwise Americans may be able to keep their jalopies running for decades to come ala Cuba.

Or the electorate could rise up and put a stop to the madness, but we have seen no indication of that possibility thus far.

The hardest thing for the future 'shade tree mechanics' to deal with will be semiconductors. I suspect there will be a serious amount of study put into how to keep old cars running when their electronics fail by bypassing the electronics. I'm thinking we need to lay in a supply of these (https://www.raspberrypi.com/products/raspberry-pi-pico/) to be programmed as needed as substitutes. There will be a business here - look at Cuba.

Interesting. I doubt a pi will be enough to take care of all that, but surely some smart outlaw engineer will come up with something. There is also a lot of software involved that isn't public knowledge. That will require some combination of corporate leaks, pirating, and info that is forced into the public domain by right-to-repair laws.

Well we all knew that because the photo was so obvious. But seriously do you think this is the first time our glorious federal law enforcement organization has trumped up evidence, faked and even planted evidence? They have a long history of it and that is only what we know when they were caught at it. Your state and local law enforcement does it too. What has our country become? Imagine that one of the most notorious criminals in history is held in one of the most guarded and camera-ed jail and he has evidence that could put 100 important people in jail and he is murdered while the guards claim to have slept and the cameras just happened to all fail at the same time. And no one in power or in the MSM blinks an eye and everyone involved gets off Scott free. No! That could never happen in America! That's third world crap.

I will add that a lot of the fault for this massive corruption in law enforcement is the fault of the good and honest cops in law enforcement. They see this shit and they say nothing. Now I admit it's not easy to be a whistle blower because they tend to commit suicide. But if you are on honest and good LEO and you see this shit if you don't have the balls to report it at least have the good sense to quit your job and learn to code or something.

The story is coming out now. Lyme disease didn't seem to exist prior to 1970. Then suddenly it was real. For unexplainable reasons the government officially denied Lyme disease existed and claimed it was faked or a mental health problem etc. Eventually Lyme disease exploded and could no longer be denied. But there is more. Lyme disease may be an "accidental" release of a bacteria from a government biological weapons lab. At the same time Lyme disease suddenly appeared two other previously unknow bacteria appeared in exactly the same area!!! Lyme Ct. What are the odds. Coincidently the U.S. government has a secret biological weapons lab about 6 miles from Lyme Ct. Wait, what?
