Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

"Why do critics hold Israel to a higher standard "
Because the Muslim cause is very well coordinated and they very effectively use all the news outlets and social media to spread their propaganda. It goes back to that old truth: While only 10%-20% of Muslims are radicalized and would kill all non-Muslims if they could, the other 80%-90% of Muslims will support the radical Muslims in their goal to eliminate all non-Muslims. We are in a worldwide no-win situation. The ignorant, and foolish think that there will be some way that we can all get along. All live side by side and respect each others disparate views. Essentially this attitude guarantees we, the West, will lose this war in the end and the Muslims will kill, convert or enslave everyone who is not a Muslim. The problem is that the West, for the most part, has been emasculated by intent and by circumstances and we are ripe to be dominated by stronger people. It's just a matter of time. The ignorant, and foolish think that there will be some way that we can all get along.
The Islamists are just like Huns, “The Hun is always either at your throat or your feet.” Some judicious and periodic ass-kicking would put them in the latter case, and then we could get along. Majority of Young Muslims in UK Want Islamic Law.
Good, then all the pansy liberals who let them in will either convert, or die. Not a bad outcome. it is a good website for testing and playing the Slot and Fish Shooting games. You all can try it at once for free.
The new NPR editor--is she biracial? How about lesbian? I have been aware of the NPR bias for more than 15 years now.
I recently asked the woman second in command at our local NPR station and the past dean of the journalism school if she supported "advocacy or objectivity" Her response was breathtaking: "objectivity is an existential impossibility". Funny how all the great journalists of the past could tell you "who, what, when, where, why, and how" of an event. I believe that one of the things we can do to start to help the black community is to post pictures of the shooter immediately after the shooting event. Or, a reporter should be free to say something like: "two members of the African American community were shooting at each other today" You could also say "two members of the Anglo American community shot at each other today". Or how about "one man from the Mexican/American community. . ." etc. The effect of that would be to help members of their own community start to take responsibility. That is not racist--that is just reporting the facts! In my opinion it isn't about saying things like two members of the African American community were shooting at each other today" OR "two members of the Anglo American community shot at each other today". They should simply report the news without the woke editing. What they do is the censure the news and that is the problem. And in addition to simply censoring the news they fabricate news or news trends to fit an agenda. By that I mean if the last two weeks in Chicago every shooting was by a black person and they censored that so you didn't know who shot John the first time there is a shooting by a white person they will highlight that and perhaps keep it at the top of the news for days just to make sure that everyone knows it was a white man this time.
If they don't tell you and/or don't show a picture than it was probably a black person. If they don't tell you the name then it was probably a Hispanic. If they literally don't tell you anything about the perp it is an open LGQTB+ person. Lying by omission is standard practice in progressive/marxist world.
Annnnnd . . . he's gone.

QUOTE: “Our reverence for the truth might be a distraction that’s getting in the way of finding common ground and getting things done.” - NPR’s CEO Katherine Maher One could be inclined to ask: Just what is it that you want to get done, that telling the truth will be a distraction? I think it’s pretty clear what the current crop of Marxist wants to accomplish. The truth is always in their way. Some other guy said something a longtime ago about the truth setting you free. Marxist doesn’t like freedom. B. Hammer: One could be inclined to ask: Just what is it that you want to get done, that telling the truth will be a distraction?
Did you bother to look at her remarks in context? Or did you just rely on the quote mine you found in the right-wing echochamber? QUOTE: In fact, our reverence for the truth might be a distraction that's getting in the way of finding common ground and getting things done. Now, that is not to say that the truth doesn't exist, nor is it to say that the truth isn’t important. Clearly, the search for the truth has led us to do great things, to learn great things. But ... I think if I were to really ask you to think about this, one of the things that we could all acknowledge is that part of the reason we have such glorious chronicles to the human experience and all forms of culture is because we acknowledge there are many different truths. . . This is because the truth of the matter is very often, for many people, what happens when we merge facts about the world with our beliefs about the world. Is it the truth that Jesus is the Messiah? Most Christians and Muslims say yes. Most Jews say no. Or do you think it is the truth that Trump acts criminally? People looking at the same facts come to different conclusions. The best we can hope for is a very imperfect system of laws and criminal procedure to reach conclusions sufficient to maintain stability and order. “Have a care for the law. ’Tis a cranky and twisted old thing. And you may flout it half a dozen times, but let it once come to grips with ye and you’ll find it harder to be loose from than a great black squid.”

Yeah. I watched her Ted Talk. Fool.
You lefties always think that everyone is a simple minded tool. And look at you. Back on this board trying to defend the evil. When will you bring out your multiple personalities to help defend your arguments? Yes, Jesus is the Messiah. The son of God. Born of the most holy virgin. Fulfilling all of the prophecies until His last breath: It is done. I can help the nonbelievers by telling the truth. Living as a witness to all that is good and holy.

B. Hammer: Jesus is the Messiah.
As noted, most Christians and Muslims would agree that it is the truth, but not most Jews. B. Hammer: Back on this board trying to defend the evil. Are you saying Jews are “evil” because they reject your truth?

The Apostles experience truth first hand through the resurrected Christ. The rest of Christianity experiences that truth through our religious faith and the words of the Apostles.
And neither Muslims nor Marxist view Christ as the Messiah.

faculty wife: The new NPR editor--is she biracial?
NPR names Katherine Maher President and CEO faculty wife: How about lesbian? Maher married a man in 2023. faculty wife: I recently asked the woman second in command at our local NPR station and the past dean of the journalism school if she supported "advocacy or objectivity" Her response was breathtaking: "objectivity is an existential impossibility". While objectivity is a valid goal, perfect objectivity is unachievable in practice. Douglas Adams noted, “The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be.” And that's the just the perspective of physics. Douglas Adams is quotable in argument?
Is that the same Douglas Adams who wrote "The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe", and "So Long, And Thanks for All The Fish"? The very same author who wrote a Six-book Trilogy? I never suspected you had a sense of humor. There are Truths, and then there are strongly held Opinions. Step off a cliff, into the air, due to "gravity", you will fall. If you are of the strongly held Opinion that "gravity" is a falsehood, a scam, a non-truth, and take that same step off a cliff, no matter what Opinion you hold, you will fall. Ever hear of objective truth? Alpha_Omega: Douglas Adams is quotable in argument?
Absolutely. Adams correctly points out that, even for a hard scientific field like physics, it can be difficult to be sure the vantage point of scientists is objective, rather than heavily skewed by circumstance. Scientific objectivity is supported by a community of observers sharing results, but humans share some of the same limitations. Hence, even in physics, perfect objectivity is unattainable. It is heavily skewed by government payola, pressure, censorship, and lawfare. You are gaslighting once again.

Reverse gaslighting ends in the collapse of a society. We can not function without truth supporting any form of self government. We will downsize until we get to truth again.

I would have missed it. thanks for this deep detail and great writting skills. I hopt to see more information like this again
America is already a police state; it just hasn’t captured you yet
QUOTE: A police state isn’t about having too many police officers on the streets arresting criminals. It’s about having too many security agencies in your life threatening you and keeping your mouth shut. https://humanevents.com/2024/04/16/david-krayden-america-is-already-a-police-state-it-just-hasnt-captured-you-yet QUOTE: America is already a police state; it just hasn’t captured you yet . . . That is what defines a police state: security forces that are focused on the political control of the population. While the United States is a flawed democracy, it is a far cry from a police state. QUOTE: They can come to your door in full combat gear, armed with assault rifles and wearing flak jackets. They can enter your premises, intimidate your family and drag away their suspect. Well, duh. The fact that you can be arrested based on a judicially issued warrant is not a defining feature of a police state. QUOTE: Stone was guilty of being too well-dressed . . . Stone was found guilty of seven felonies by a jury at trial, including obstruction, witness tampering, and lying to federal investigators. QUOTE: The FBI has chosen to persecute former President Donald Trump, all MAGA supporters, anyone who walked into the White House on Jan. 6, 2021 You mean prosecute people for whom there is probable cause as determined by a grand jury to have committed crimes. Not all MAGA supporters have been prosecuted, only those who broke the law. And they stormed the Congress during the electoral count, not the White House where Trump was gloating over the scenes of the riot. QUOTE: We know that FBI agents were on the scene that day in 2021 egging on the protesters, taking them by the hand and leading them up the steps of Capitol Hill to enter the building. There is plenty of video evidence of crimes being committed by Trump supporters. For instance, this man was convicted of beating a cop with a flag pole. QUOTE: The Drug Enforcement Administration can also be mistaken for a platoon of Marines when it suspects there might be contraband in your garage. Police often use too much force, but American society is awash in guns. Regardless, using force is not a defining feature of a police state. All states use force. QUOTE: So if you’re an illegal, don’t worry about the police presence or arrest, or deportation, or even mild harassment. You’ll get a free flight – First Class – to anywhere in America The migrants involved aren't illegal as they have been screened and given parole to enter the United States on humanitarian grounds. The program has been in place for years. Nor does the United States pay for the flights. How many Feds were fined/jailed for the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax? How many of the Mueller lawfare investigators were fined/jailed for ALL of them 'accidentally' wiping their cell phones? How many of the 51 IC members were fined/jailed for lying about the Biden laptop? How many of the FBI were fined/jailed for their continued 'sitting' on the Weiner laptop? What happened to charges over the VP Biden classified doc case? Do you need more government employee perjury on Covid 19 or the blatant illegality of non-enforcement of immigration?
I haven't watch PBS for 35 years when our daughters used to watch the children's shows (before we got cable). And I have never listened to NPR, except in passing. So it's hard to get excited in the least about the latest goings on. Unfortunately, it is a sad commentary on the GOP's effectiveness that they have yet to defund them both.
I was awakened, I guess you could say, by the heavy handed police actions during the pandemic. I was horrified by what I saw the Canadian Mounties do to the peaceful protestors. The Mounties!! With their long history of standing up for good and justice but yet so easily devolved into bullies and tyrants. Recently there was a video of a Canadian policeman who intentionally pushed into a reporter who was trying to ask a Canadian politician a question. And then the policeman with a wide grin of pleasure at his tyrannical actions arrested the reporter for assault on a police officer!!
This all kind of caused me to find YouTube videos of police misbehavior and surprisingly there was no shortage of it. I found videos where police would arrest citizens who were taking videos while standing on the sidewalk. Even trumping up additional charges, obviously because they knew they couldn't legally arrest them for enjoying their constitutional rights. At first you might think it was the exception, a young policeman simply making a mistake. But there are hundreds and hundreds of these videos where police become violent with citizens doing nothing wrong. Even examples where the cop confesses he is wrong but by god he has the power and you will submit! Other videos where the cop is aggressive with the citizen who is doing nothing wrong, lies to him to get him to submit to the police power and then suddenly realizes that the person taking the video has previously won in court against police wrongdoing and they quickly exit the scene, thus proving they knew they were wrong. You cannot watch these videos without making the connection to Russia, pre-WW II Germany and of course China. Is this where we are headed? Are we in the early stages of government tyranny? The only thing slowing it and exposing it are the videos and the police and politicians all over the country are trying to make videoing police a crime. Think about that! They want to make it a crime to expose police crime. JustMe: I was awakened, I guess you could say, by the heavy handed police actions
Oh, sweet summer child. Heavy-handed police aren’t new. What’s new is the consciousness of it by mainstream (white) society. Indeed, there is probably less police abuse nowadays, but the wide availability of recording devices makes it less deniable. No, you're wrong again. What you are choosing to ignore that for 232 years the American government was not an active participant in those unlawful actions by police. The police had to lie about what they did and hide the truth because judges and our DOJ would go after them. Today, since about 2009 (coincidently) the federal government has been weaponized and they are complicit in police and prosecutorial misconduct. This type of action is no longer rogue cops or angry uncontrolled cops it is federal policy at the highest levels. The DOJ, FBI and CIA are corrupt and they are now enemies of democracy.
JustMe: What you are choosing to ignore that for 232 years the American government was not an active participant in those unlawful actions by police.
Sure. They just hired the police, set the policies, then allowed them to do what needed to be done. No responsibility whatsoever. JustMe: The police had to lie about what they did and hide the truth because judges and our DOJ would go after them. Oh, gee whiz. Perhaps it was different in your country, but in the United States, they used to make postcards of lynchings. Juries would regularly refuse to convict whites who lynched blacks, much less law enforcement. The entire U.S. legal system was set up to make prosecuting official misconduct difficult. While minorities have complained for generations, it's only recently, when the right sort (whites) have got caught up in the system, that the pitchforks have come out. Welcome to the party, even if you are late. But it's not new. You're referring to the BLM/Antifa government sanctioned gangs. They used to be known as brownshirts.
They don't do postcards now... they do Starshiphop. The United States, in the aftermath of the Civil War, did rush to pass federal anti-lynching legislation, signed into law by none other than President Joseph Robinette Biden II.
Yes I know first hand about the old South. The Democrats were ruthless racists.
JustMe: The Democrats were ruthless racists.
Glad you granted the point. The United States has a long history of police abuse, which has often been borne by the poor and minorities. Beating up suspects to extract confessions, for instance, has a long pedigree. (The Democratic Party was a means of acquiring and maintaining power, but it was white southerners themselves who worked to institute legalized white supremacy.) The train of insanity is these days usually a "combo," two trains joined en route because they're going to the same place. It makes more efficient use of track since the two trains can now be run with zero separation, and frees up a crew. Disadvantage is that it's longer than the sidings so passing one is a pain.
