We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

I am a bit surprised. Thought they might take the healthcare away from citizens first.

Perhaps the looming fiscal restraints will cool democrats enthusiasm for illegals?

It won't happen overnight but this is a start.

I am anxious to see if an advocate group will sue to get a judge to over rule this and require Illinois to pay for illegal alien health care?

Arrogant is barely adequate to describe their behavior. They will actually stop their shopping cart in the middle of an aisle so no one can get around them. It requires multiple adjectives to properly describe their behavior.

As someone at Unz commented.. "Haiti is a giant shit show right now. The best thing that can happen to the country is for a giant squeegee to come down from the sky and sweep everyone in Haiti into the sea". Seems harsh but perhaps he/she is better informed.

Mr Bobulinski testified in front of Congress today that Joe and Hunter Biden lied under oath and that two of the Democrat congress in the room at the time lied.
Now what would you bet that the FBI, CIA and every three letter agency in DC is investigating Mr. Bobulinski? If you want to double down on that bet how about the odds that Mr. Bobulinski raped someone in high school or the dressing room of a big department store. Why not go for the trifecta and bet that Mr Bobulinski commits suicide sometime in the future? But wait! Could he have overstated the value of real estate in New York to get a loan too???

West Point was giving in to creeping liberalism 30 years ago when I was there. Obvious double standards, especially for female cadets, was the norm.

I don't "blame" the females in the military for the situation caused by females in the military. Individually they are sincerely there to do their job and to the extent they have peacetime jobs and we are at peace they perform just fine. The problem is that they cannot do the war time job. AND it isn't "just" that they can't do the job but they take up a place which means you have one less man to fight. Yes, not all military jobs "fight" BUT when the worst happens all military WILL fight. So basically when you need a actual soldier the most you will have a poser and not a fighter.

Imagine the NBA decided to replace some of their players with just any 18 year old female that shows up for the job. It would be ludicrous. And that is what placing women in the military is; ludicrous.

In what way is this Bach's birthday? He was born on March 31, 1685. Haydn was also born on March 31 in 1732. I was born on March 31, 1952 and have never grown tired of listening to Bach or Haydn compositions

Bach was of the late era of Baroque music. Haydn invented the string quartet form.

The Classical music era was about 70 years, 1750 to 1820. I don't understand how such periods are determined... very well... but every period, it would seem, has informed what came along in compositional form.

Wikipedia says Old style calendar birthday is 3/21 but New Style(starting 1752) is March 31. Happy future birthday!, my dad's is the same day, he'll be interested to hear about Bach and Haydn.
