Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

I remember reading 20 years ago that residential recycling is an expensive, feel-good scam.
My wife, an otherwise rational, commonsense conservative woman insists on recycling even the smallest plastic pill bottles. She even cleans up the keurig cups and chucks them in the green bin. But will I show her this article? Nooooo. Everyone needs a hobby.
My wife repurposes every single plastic grocery bag as a trash bag, hasn't bought trash bags in years. Ditto for ribbon, bows, tissue paper, and gift boxes. Rational, conservative, without a trace of "otherwise." If it's worth recycling, then it's worth paying me for it. But we have a neighborhood scrapper who takes anything with metal, including appliances. I know it's recycled because someone pays him for it.
We recently switched to city-provided trashcans. It's annoying, more expensive, and inconvenient. But hey, at least they only pick up once a week now instead of twice. If you miss trash day it's hard to get back to zero. We use the recycling can because the trash won't hold everything. I don't care where it goes, but I'm not going to pay for a larger or second trash can. The difference now is that we have a triage in the garage for the recycling junk. Annoying, expensive, and inconvenient. My town recycles plastics - #1, #2, #5, and #7 plastics - yet I have no idea how much of all that plastic ends up as fuel in a nearby trash-to-energy plant rather than 'new' plastic. It wouldn't surprise me at all to find out the percentage of plastic actually recycled is in the single digit to low double digit range.
My town also takes Styrofoam, processes it on site, and makes a tidy sum selling it to the polystyrene manufacturers. (Our town takes in Styrofoam from a number of surrounding towns as we're the only town in the state that actually recycles it...and makes money doind it.) "...We had to re-educate individuals that a great deal of that material is ending up in a landfill...." These are the code words from the virtuous, instead of just saying 'We were WRONG'
Incinerate the plastic and generate steam for electricity. Nowhere is that mentioned in this story - but it's clean, productive disposal. We recycle all of our plastic grocery bags and get a second use from them, instead of buying new plastic trash bags. Anything left over, we recycle at the supermarket, in their designated bin. The petrochemical industry needs to continue innovating plastics. But we will always have a problem with plastic waste, until we decide to do something with it besides burying it. As the article states, endless recycling doesn't work, it concentrates toxicity and creates an inferior material, Duty Honor Country, Didn't the Roman Republic at some point change from duty to Rome to support my general (Marius or Sulla?) and where's the booty? History does repeat itself.
Oh and letting non-citizens in the Army, that came later with the Roman Empire, guess we are just trying to compact it all instead of over 500 years. Haiti, aka Waconda, has collapsed. All that is left is for as many Haitians as possible to come to the U.S. for free stuff. But don't miss the point here. In the good old US of A every city that acquired a black voting majority and elected a mostly black city government and a black mayor has done the same thing. The didn't totally collapse, yet! But that's because the federal government props them up. Every one of those cities became corrupt and every black politician and bureaucrat became rich. In every example the police in those cities are corrupt and racists. Everyone of them. Don't go there, especially at night. Don't drive through them, especially at night. If you do and get stopped by the police expect to have to pay to stay out of jail. Don't, under any circumstances stop at a gas station where the thugs are hanging out to rob you or carjack you. Don't get off the freeway, gas up 30-50 miles away. This is true, unassailably true. If you are the wrong race and get in trouble, perhaps defending yourself from assault or robbery, you will go to jail. If you find yourself in one of these mini-Wacondas the advice is look at the ground, don't look anyone in the eyes, be passive. If you are in your car don't open the door. Haiti 2.0 is coming soon to a city near you until all or most of the country is Haiti 2.0. Diversity is our strength.
No more Duty, Honor, Country. Why? Because Obama promised to fundamentally transform America. And he and his supporters are doing it, that’s why.
The new meme is "illegals with measles". I am so old I can remember when my kids were toddlers that we parents would have measles parties. The purpose was to get it over with. Did it with chicken pox too. Yeah that probably wasn't the smartest thing. But measles are dangerous, before effective preventative measures tens of thousands of people died from measles. So what is the risk for us in the U.S.? Hard to know, but it could result in a lot of deaths, that is possible. I just don't what will happen. Some countries protect their citizens by requiring visitors and newcomers to have certain vaccinations before they can get a visa. I guess some countries don't give a shit about their citizens.

In case you haven’t come across these in your research, I’ll leave links, if that is allowed. https://fenbendazole.substack.com/p/mebendazole-fenbendazole-proposed https://mycancerstory.rocks/ Also, look up the comedian Jim Breuer’s interview with Kevin Hennings on you tube - Beating stage 4 colon cancer. Praying for you and your family. This is for Bulldog. Ivermectin in concert with fenbendazole has been shown to be even more effective than either alone.
Plastic and most paper waste should be incinerated with food waste in cogeneration plants - creating electricity from the heat.
What's left is carbon indistinguishable from 'natural' ash. When distributed in ocean fisheries or spread on fields, it increases yields. The issue is never the issue - the issue is always power and revolution. "Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) issued an extraordinary call Thursday for Israel to hold new elections aimed at ousting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom the Biden administration and Democrats dislike."
That is not the true story. Chuckie and the big guy don't really care about Netanyahu. This isn't about Netanyahu or even the unfortunate deaths in the Gaze/Hamas war. It is one hundred percent about "Palestinian" and pro-Palestinian voters in the U.S. It is a shameful pandering to terrorists and terrorist supporters. Urban Agriculture?
I am reminded of my comment[s] at Urban farming as a response to climate-driven food crises: Cuba shows the way. I pointed out that overall, Cuba's record in agriculture was abysmal. QUOTE: From 1961 to 2016, Cuba’s net per capita Food (PIN) production declined 29%... The blog owner's response was to claim "blockade." I replied, but the blog owner didn't publish my response, and cut off further comments. Lefties are in favor of dissident views, as long as they follow the lefty narrative. From 1961 to 2017, Latin America’s milk production increased 328%, From 1961 to 2017, Cuba’s milk [production increased 55%. James Crumbley and his wife have now both been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for the school shooting committed by their son. Is this good or bad and why should we care? Almost every shooting in Chicago and other inner cities could and should be held to the same standard. If we are going to charge the parents for crimes of their children then let's do it and jail every parent of a shooter in the inner cities. And why not? But if not, than why jail these two parents? This case is both political and racial. Justice in America is no longer blind it is weaponized.
We are about to see a very large "invasion" by Haitians into Florida planned, controlled and funded by our DHS. This is part of Biden's war on Florida Republicans and America. Within days they will predicably be committing crimes, rapes and murders and the Democrats will be upset... not by the crimes but by U.S. citizens calling these "newcomers" illegals. I would imagine DeSantis will try to bus them somewhere else but I suspect that the federal government will try to stop it and that the Haitian illegals will want to stay in Sunny Florida. Is aiding and abetting the illegals who come here to kill Americans treason?
