Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

From today's Lectionary


Mark 1:9-15


1:9 In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.


1:10 And just as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Spirit descending like a dove on him.


1:11 And a voice came from heaven, "You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased."


1:12 And the Spirit immediately drove him out into the wilderness


1:13 He was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan; and he was with the wild beasts; and the angels waited on him.


1:14 Now after John was arrested, Jesus came to Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God,


1:15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the good news."

Reading more Bible, as well.

As reality kicks in, time IS fulfilled. Up to me, and all of you, how to approach life, religion, and how to speak or manage our relationships with people and God. In whatever fashion.

For me? As much Love and Kindness AS POSSIBLE. But I'm not opposed to calling some people out for overstepping misleadings or misunderstandings - as nicely as possible IF they finally become honest and open about that. Sadly, some don't share that as much as I prefer.

That's not always horrible, but a bit of a drag.

Working to raise funding for a non-profit I was on the board of and running student mentorships. Now taking myself off that, with great support. But now the money is for the students and growth of media engagement and involvement as much as possible while I can!
