Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Netanyahu In Blistering Rebuke Of US Post-War Plans: "Israel Will Control Entire Area From The River To The Sea"
What is the Palestinian opinion about a Palestinian state "from the river to the sea"? AWRAD: Public Opinion Poll - Gaza War 2023 - Tables of Results (14 November 2023) QUOTE: Table 33: Do you support the solution of establishing one state or two states in the following formats: Since only 5% support a "One state solution for two peoples," it is fair to conclude that Palestinians envisage "A Palestinian state from the river to the sea" as being Judenrein. Two-state solution for two peoples 17% A Palestinian state from the river to the sea 75% One state solution for two peoples 5% So much for the European and American politicians who try to push a two-state solution. Palis don't want a two-state solution. Palis don't want a one-state solution containing both Jews and Arabs. Palis want a Judenrein one-state solution. Which means that Netanyahu and Israel continue to face a rather difficult situation. European and American progressives are hung up on the old French dystopia of equality and liberty being compatible desires. They are completely incompatible except in an imaginary utopian society.
Victor Davis Hanson addresses these 'Dueling Populisms' in a piece published back in April 12, 2018. https://www.hoover.org/research/dueling-populisms These two dueling philosophies well explain the American Revolution, the US Civil War and the Rooseveltian/LBJ authoritarian lawfare that brings us to the current day. Funny how nobody wants the palestinians moving in; not even the West Bank. Maybe the Davos elite can get them to volunteer for the Ukraine 2024 summer offensive.
"Palis want a Judenrein one-state solution."
And as a result, they'll continue to have a no-state solution for the foreseeable future. Johns Hopkins Medicine created list of privileges
I think she is partly correct. "English-speaking people" for example. We are in an English-speaking country. Learn to speak English and you will do better. If we were a French speaking country than the advice would be to learn French. Cisgender people! DUH! It is a cisgender world. If you think you are not cisgender it is likely that you are mentally ill. I would advise anyone with a mental illness to try to hide it and compensate for it so that you would fit in with the 80-90% of normal people. Then YOU will gain privilege because others won't see you as mentally ill. Christians. Again, DUH! We live in a Christian country. Christians in Muslim countries are killed, raped and enslaved. If you fit in with the society you choose to live in you will do better. This isn't rocket science. Able-bodied people. Well, golly. Being disabled causes you problems. Who would have thought. There is no other country in the world that does more to accommodate people who are not able-bodied. What more do you expect? BUT don't be surprised that it might interfere with you doing things. The rest of it is just her prejudices bubbling to the surface. She has an MD, but is a Chief Diversity Officer. Was she kicked upstairs?
She is blissfully unaware of how many of the "privileges" she could belong to. She belongs to the top 1% of income, most likely. It is also likely- but I couldn't find any information on her origins- that she was born into the middle class. QUOTE: Privilege list: which ones apply to her? As colleges currently have more female than male students, her assertion that males are privileged is quite debatable.-Males -Whites -Christians most likely Heterosexual probable, as she has a child Cisgender probable -Mid-aged people check -Able-bodied people check -Middle & owning class double check -English-speaking people. check If she considers Christians to belonging to the privileged, she is full of it. I do not belong to a Christian church, but I do not consider Christians per se to be more privileged than I. I am reminded of a discussion some years ago at Jonathan Haidt's Heterodoxy site regarding a speaker at Lakeside- which is the super-elite private high school in Seattle that Bill Gates attended. A black female Lakeside student participating in the online comments repeatedly reverted to the "check your privilege" narrative. Seems to me that those who attend an elite private high school should consider themselves privileged. Re: Davos.
I am breathlessly awaiting that magical moment when one of the Davos/WEF speakers actually says "Let them eat cake!" or it's modern equivalent. Let them eat bugs is close, so close. Come on all you rich elite in your echo chambers, you can do it, set down your knife and fork from your seven course meal and say it... I will even accept "Let them eat caviar". When we shut down all the farms and imprison for ecocide anyone who grows food and the peasants are starving what will you tell these starving grimy people squatting in the dirt??? This is so true. Recall those pictures of a Somalian mother sitting on the ground holding a starving child and they both are incredibly underweight. The entire country starving by the millions. THIS is what many people of the world want to see happen in the West. THIS is what the WEF is working towards. The WEF wants to see a die off. YOU are the carbon they are seeking to eliminate.
Food deserts, underwear deserts, electronics deserts.... and on and on. Let's talk, Fred Reed.

Why do you think it backfired? To me it appears it succeeded. A few gig workers were taken into unions and the rest left unemployed - and TPTB blamed capitalism. Win / Win. What you folks are missing vis a vis Davos is this: they already have in place hundreds of bureaucrats devoted to their very dictates. These are the people who will make change--whether we want it or not!
