Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

What you see in Palestine today is what you will see in most European countries in the future. Islam is a violent, radical political philosophy disguised as a religion. They "invade"/immigrate, take advantage of your benevolence and use your own laws and courts against you and then begin killing and intimidating you and eventually eliminating you. They have told you this! They have demonstrated this! Perhaps we in the West are indeed too stupid to survive.
"National Public Radio is a sandbox for the Left."
More like a litterbox. Full of sh*t. I used to support them a long time ago, and stopped doing it when they went crazy. It's too bad, really. They used to be a standard-bearer for some pretty good, albeit left-leaning, journalism. A lot of good broadcasting has been underwritten by NPR, (Car Guys, etc) but what they have turned into is beneath ridicule.
They haven't just lost their credibility; they've lost their creativity and their curiosity. There are one or two local shows I'll dial into, but the rest of it, anything nationally-syndicated by them, I'll just ignore. They've become the aural equivalent of eating library paste. This states things beautifully. It's a shame what's happened. At one time I listened to NPR more than any other radio broadcast, now not at all.
And it wasn't me who changed. The current version of the USSR's Pravda, Tass, and Izvestia!
The plain facts of the matter are that "Zionists were genocidal and racist settler-colonialists who deployed Nazi methods in the service of global imperialism, while suppressing the anti-colonial national-liberation struggle of the Palestinian people."
Right now the Ashkenazi colonists (who are Europeans, slavs and germanics, not semites) are conducting genocide and ethnic cleansing throughout occupied Palestine, and are doing so with the full connivance of the US. And all because that cute Jewish girl in your Grade 11 class snubbed your advances at the hop, eh, "bob"?
What about the Jews who live in Israel who were expelled from Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Morocco, Libya are they colonizers or is it only the ones who you deride as Ashkenazi not semites? What about the Arabs who serve in the IDF and in the Knesset and in all the other aspects of daily life in Israel? You're good with people being blown up while sitting in a Sbarro eating - because they're colonists? You're good with shooting attacks on random motorists because they're colonists? Quick, someone post something about the settler colonialism of Han Chinese into Tibet or Sinhalese settler colonization of Tamil areas or the. Indonesian colonization of West Papua and see if it gets the same response or if it's just reserved for Jews or maybe just Jews who might have more melanin or a different accent. I realize you just can't quite get over the fact that in 1948 partition was voted and independence was declared and instead of accepting it and trying to figure out a way to peacefully coexist an attack was launched and "your side" lost, but 75 years in, billions of dollars, thousands of lives - and you'll just blame those dastardly Jews and their unwillingness to just die already. Awful hard to avoid an ad hominem, but man...
Yes, the benchmark is certainly 1948 because that was the first time that Palestinians had any real say in their own future i.e., when one of the population groups of the former Mandatory Palestine - Jewish Palestinians - accepted the UN partition plan and voted themselves into being as Israelis in a sovereign, recognized State of Israel.
As you note, the other population group - Arab Palestinians - turned down that UN plan. The rest is history, as they say. QUOTE: The Root Cause Of Academic Groupthink . . . Suppose you’re part of the senior faculty of a department committed to the phlogiston theory (i.e., debunked 18th c. chemistry). Two candidates compete for a junior slot. The first presents a marginal tweak on phlogiston citing your own work and that of several colleagues. The second presents groundbreaking proof that phlogiston is wrong. Which shows that academic conservatism, the resistance to overthrowing established paradigms, has been intrinsic to scholarship for centuries. If you are to overthrow an existing paradigm, you have to show why your own theories can explain the old observations, while also predicting new observations that distinguish the new theory. Indeed, the first rational step of most any research project is finding out what has already been learned. Consider Einstein's Theory of Relativity. When it was shown that the orbit of Uranus was anomalous (i.e. different than what was predicted by Newtonian Theory), an attempt was made to explain it by looking for a planetary body that might be causing the effect. That search led to the discovery of Neptune—further confirmation of Newtonian Theory. When it was shown that the precession of the perihelion of Mercury was anomalous, a similar attempt was made to explain it by looking for a planetary body that might be causing the effect. But no such body could be found! So, did they dispense with Newtonian Theory? Of course not. Newtonian Theory explained so many phenomena, that they simply modified the theory to be Newtonian Theory with an anomaly of unknown origin. Later, when Einstein proposed his General Theory of Relativity, he showed how his Theory could explain not just the Mercury's orbital anomaly, but also all the other observations consistent with Newtonian Theory. Then, he made a prediction from his Theory that light passing near the Sun's limb would be bent more than expected by Newtonian effects alone. Since then, the predicted bending of light around massive objects has been repeatedly confirmed. All models are wrong, but some are useful. — George E. P. Box Speaking of Uranus related anomalies, it is now being theorized that all recently discovered genders are from Uranus.
Interesting post. I honestly like the topic covered here. I'll come back every now and then for more posts like this one.
Root causes of academic groupthink....
Why DEI team cries victim.... Why NPR is a sandbox for progs.... They practice neither diversity or inclusion but are simply the Borg projecting their own cult beliefs. Years ago I was a listener to NPR in fact I was a donor. Eventually I started getting interested in immigration as a very important issue over 20 years ago. More and more I found NPR and the Democrat party which I belonged to be at complete odds with my worldview. At one time the Democrats actually had sane views on immigration I think around 1995 things shifted. Immigration really opened up my mind and allowed me to see things clearly. Both parties are pretty much useless and I feel we live in an occupied country. It is good to listen to public radio and Public TV now and then just to see how insane they have become. I remember listening to a local public television show on PBS on the subject of immigration and the moderator who is a Caribbean woman asked her guest who is a young woman why we needed so many immigrants and the guest who was an immigration lawyer replied in a very low voice as if she was whispering so no one would hear replied that her clients could not find any citizens to work seven days a week so they had to hire immigrants. Years ago we had people that work seven days a week I think we called them slaves. You can learn a lot of interesting things listening to public television and radio.
Gonzalo Lira, Sr. says his son has died at 55 in a Ukrainian prison, where he was being held for the crime of criticizing the Zelensky and Biden governments. Lira was an American citizen. The father predicted his son would be killed.
Any word from the MSM, or academia, or the Biden administration? |
