Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Has Hiter won the Left ?
Hitler was from the Left: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (German for 'National Socialist German Workers' Party') Aggie: Hitler was from the Left: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (German for 'National Socialist German Workers' Party')
Nazism is a far-right ultranationalist authoritarian ideology. It's on the political right because it advocates a strict hierarchy, with a single, all-powerful ruler and a hierarchy of ethno-nations. It's interesting that the original post includes one link concerning Trump using the language of Hitler about "poisoning the blood of our country," then another link, "Has Hitler Won on the Left?" QUOTE: Trump: Illegals Are “poisoning the blood of our country” That's straight out of Mein Kampf. The defense is then mounted that Trump was only referring to illegal immigrants, but legal status doesn't impact heredity. Such language emphasizes Trump's previous incendiary and authoritarian attacks. Yet the right still defends Trump. QUOTE: Has Hitler Won on the Left? The response to the violence in Gaza was especially chilling. Everyone should condemn the actions of Hamas on October 7, including and especially those who support the Palestinian cause. QUOTE: Perhaps Hitler has won, though on the left—the opposite end of the political spectrum to that we might have expected. This relates to Aggie's comment above. What it does is conflate goals and means. While extremists on both left and right use extreme means, the left and right are defined by their goals, egalitarianism and hierarchicalism respectively. As for whether Hitler won on the left, that is probably not the case. Some on the left had a reflexive response defending Hamas, and some continue to make excuses, but most on the left are already moving away from this position—if they hadn't already. “The two greatest men of the twentieth century are Vladimir Lenin and Adolf Hitler”, Joseph Goebels, Nazi #3 and infamous Minister of Propaganda.
Mussolini and Lenin debated the right way to implement Marxist Socialism. All men of the right, eh Zachriel? Paul in Boston: “The two greatest men of the twentieth century are Vladimir Lenin and Adolf Hitler”
Usually quoted as "Lenin is the greatest man, second only to Hitler," 1925 New York Times. Hitler demanded that Goebbels stop making the comparison. After that, Hitler reworked the notion of socialism to apply only to Aryans under a strictly hierarchical system. Then, once achieving power, he eliminated all actual socialists. Hitler was supported in this by other elements of the right. Britannica: Were the Nazis Socialists? Try this: Is a military organization socialist? QUOTE: Try this: Is a military organization socialist? Try this: What would happen if Pinocchio said "My nose grows now"? You are becoming more confused by the month on authoritarian governments versus anarchist non government.
Fascists and communists share the same socialist outcomes and only differ on whether the 'business' of the country be run by favored oligarchs or run exclusively by the government itself. This is why the left/right gibberish of the French parliamentarians means so little when the seating arrangement is fascists on one side with the communists on the other side. The American academy loves the French left/right as it hides the academy's typically authoritarian marxist beliefs. James Lindsays latest speeches on the latest 3rd wave sex/race marxist attacks against the west show that, as usual, it is nothing more than a regurgitation of the old Marcuse, Gramsci, Horkheimer, et al reshuffling of Marx's original class warfare. The academy really has to find some original thought rather than recycling the same old shit through the same old institutions it has always used. You have become as boring and predictable as the authoritarians you celebrate. "It's on the political right because it advocates a strict hierarchy,"
Everyone here can see that you're laboring mightily to maintain and advance that lie. But it is transparent nonsense. For example, whether you're talking about the likes of Kendi to Hanna-Jones or a slew of other LWers, there is an explicit or implicit hierarchy underlying the issue of DIE, race, and ethnicity: black>non-Jewish Middle Eastern>central Asian>Hispanic>east Asian>white. That hierarchy may not be explicitly acknowledged by people like you, but it clearly exist, and is almost never challenged or condemned by anyone on the left. Or there's the LW gender hierarchy: trans>gays>lesbians>pedos>straight females>straight males. Also an undeniably real LW hierarchy that is rally challenged or condemned by the left. "authoritarian" Heh. You mean like having brownshirt type groups like antifa and BLM to further your political goals to further your political objectives?
Maybe you're referring to relying on regulation created, implemented and enforced (often with limited recourse for "violators") by unelected bureaucrats rather than made explicit in legislation that requires LW politicians to make risky votes? All you've got to do is come out in favor of a constitutional amendment making all government regulation at every level illegal, abolishing all the existing regulation and immediately terminating the jobs of the vast majority of bureaucrats. Or maybe you're referring to forcing people to take an experimental vaccine and wear masks or hive their right curtailed? But do go on about the right having such authoritarian tendencies. Maybe you can come up with something that Trump has done (as opposed to said) that you can reasonably call authoritarian. James: there is an explicit or implicit hierarchy underlying the issue of DIE, race, and ethnicity: black>non-Jewish Middle Eastern>central Asian>Hispanic>east Asian>white.
You are conflating description with prescription. Pointing out that whites have more economic and political power is descriptive. Advocating white supremacy is prescriptive. James: All you've got to do is come out in favor of a constitutional amendment making all government regulation at every level illegal, abolishing all the existing regulation and immediately terminating the jobs of the vast majority of bureaucrats. Because traffic without rules is surely best. "You are conflating description with prescription. Pointing out that whites have more economic and political power is descriptive. Advocating white supremacy is prescriptive."
Hum. No. I am describing what the left's preferred hierarchy is, the one they argue is the legitimate moral hierarchy. IOW, the one that is literally their prescriptive hierarchy. The one they seek to impose via social coercion, government regulation, and judicial fiat. If you're suggesting that the hierarchy I delineated is the one the right prescribes, that is even more mystifying. Since it is intentionally merely the inversion of the hierarchy the left claims the right wants. "Because traffic without rules is surely best." Hum. Again, no. Presumably the legislatures could still pass laws. Which is how traffic laws are typically created, as far as I know. But since you're going to pretend not to understand again, I'll be more explicit. The left has made a deliberate choice to primarily use regulations created by unelected appointees or employes and enforced by the same people rather than through legislation. Because much of the left's agenda would never be voted for by people that were periodically held to account by voters. That choice is intrinsically authoritarian. In contemporary America, the left is vastly more authoritarian than the right. Honestly, its like you're not even trying. James: No. I am describing what the left's preferred hierarchy is
It’s a hierarchy of historical oppression. So, for instance, Blacks have been discriminated against; women have been discriminated against; consequently, Black women have been doubly discriminated against. James: Which is how traffic laws are typically created, as far as I know. That is incorrect. Transportation laws delegate authority to a department of transportation, which use experts to collect data and set rules of the road. Legislatures do not enact specific statutes as to whether a stop sign should replace a yield sign at Maple and Main, or how long the green light should last at an intersection that has seen a recent increase in traffic. There are thousands of such decisions being made and they directly affect the daily lives of nearly everyone. And these rules have the force of law. It is not unreasonable to argue that the regulatory state has become unwieldy, but advocating eliminating all regulation is just silly, as this simple example shows. Here is a valuable statement of the conservative principle: QUOTE: G. K. Chesterton: There exists in such a case a certain institution or law; let us say, for the sake of simplicity, a fence or gate erected across a road. The more modern type of reformer goes gaily up to it and says, “I don’t see the use of this; let us clear it away.” To which the more intelligent type of reformer will do well to answer: “If you don’t see the use of it, I certainly won’t let you clear it away. Go away and think. Then, when you can come back and tell me that you do see the use of it, I may allow you to destroy it.” Here is a discussion of the Hierarchy of oppression and the limitations of the concept: "Common sense may indicate that, for example, a black lesbian woman is more oppressed than a straight white woman. However, political and social activists and theorists find hierarchies of oppression counterproductive because they prevent coalitions from being formed between groups and individuals who, according the hierarchy, or more or less oppressed."

I always check to see how many comments there are on the daily posting. Whenever I see more than a dozen or so, I know the Zacbot is busy. I scroll past the bot's rebuttals until I get to a "real" comment, usually one that is sensible, realistic, based on fact and worth reading. I know it's tempting to reply to the bot'
s nonsense but if everyone would restrain themselves, it would eventually go to ''the better to spread propaganda" zones and leave us alone. The Attack on Farmers and Ranchers that No One is Talking About
QUOTE: In September of 2022 the United States Department of Agriculture, without congressional approval or oversight, announced they were spending $3.1 Billion dollars to implement Partnerships for Climate Smart Commodities Projects. This money has since been handed over to some the country’s largest agriculture corporations, associations, and universities. Some of the notable payments are: $90 million to ADM, $95 million to Iowa Soybean Association, $60 million to the Nature Conservancy, 27 different universities with payments ranging from $4 million to $80 million. These are 123 total listed as, “lead partners” but if you read the description of the programs you will find, “other major partners” which include every major company in the food business, from Cargill to Costco. The most disgusting payment of all was $40 million dollars to the largest ag media corporation Farm Journal. Why would the government pay a media company $40 million to implement an environmental program? Control the messenger, control the message, aka state run media. The message that the USDA does not want told is that the intended goal for the Climate Smart Project is to manipulate farmers and ranchers into calculating their greenhouse gas emissions, or what they call, “implementation and monitoring of climate smart practices” so that those emissions can then be regulated. https://www.lonesomelands.com/new-blog/2023/9/14/template-cm7p3 The Shocking Real Purpose for a Government-Mandated Vehicle "Kill Switch" Revealed By Whistleblower
It's about a 5 minute video. The gist of it is that you wouldn't be able to operate a car without a kill switch because you won't be able to buy insurance for it. Furthermore your car will constantly be monitored and your insurance rates will vary in real time based on how many are in the car, whether or not you are speeding etc. I don't see how this is remotely politically feasible. Still, it is something to keep an eye on. https://rumble.com/v421ikw-the-shocking-real-purpose-for-a-government-mandated-vehicle-kill-switch-rev.html Shut the border. No cars trains trucks and no air traffic from Mexico. Anyone who walks across is shot at with rubber bullets until they make their way back to Mexico. Stop giving illegals any federal money and ban them from working. Fine anyone or any company that hires an illegal $1000 a day per illegal. The federal government should give the illegals one thing only, a free ride back to their home country.
OneGuy: Shut the border. No cars trains trucks and no air traffic from Mexico.
Trade between Mexico and the United States is about $1 trillion, including agricultural products, cars, auto parts, and electronics. A million commercial trucks cross the border every month. Stopping all traffic would devastate both economies. Yup! $1 trillion oughta wake up Mexico and get them to stop assisting illegals to our borders. BUT, we should cut that way back anyway. Bring that $1 trillion home for jobs for Americans, Make America Great Again. The federal government should bring back the jobs from China too. Create incentives for American owned businesses to operate in the rust belt and the Appalachians and the inner cities. They should try to get all Americans a job and end welfare and poverty. Create a four year program where in the first year everything sold in this country must at least be 1/4th made in America. Increase it by 1/4th each year until everything is made here and we have 100% employment. Fuck China ! (Elon is right, fuck um!)
“there is always a well-known solution to every human problem—neat, plausible, and wrong.” — H. L. Mencken
OneGuy: $1 trillion oughta wake up Mexico and get them to stop assisting illegals to our borders. And cause a collapse in the economy of the United States. OneGuy: Bring that $1 trillion home for jobs for Americans That's not how markets work. It will cause disruptions in supply chains and increased costs to American consumers. The United States already has a labor shortage, so there just isn't available capacity to move much more manufacturing to the United States. Good luck getting parts for your car. OneGuy: Increase it by 1/4th each year until everything is made here and we have 100% employment. You might want to read Adam Smith's, An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations. What you propose leads to reduced efficiency and lower wealth creation. A sudden change would result is massive economic disruption. If we had a labor shortage there would be no one on welfare. What we have now is U.S. companies who want to import cheap labor and a big lie that we have a labor shortage to allow them to do that. End it! No more H1b, send them home. No one allowed to work in the U.S. if they are not a citizen. No one allowed to get welfare who is capable of working.
OneGuy: If we had a labor shortage there would be no one on welfare.
That doesn’t necessarily follow. It would depend on specifics. Please point to a specific federal welfare program and how many people you think could be added to the labor pool by ending the program. Regardless, stopping all traffic with Mexico would cause huge economic disruption and loss of productivity even with high unemployment. "stopping all traffic with Mexico would cause huge economic disruption and loss of productivity"
That is the whole point! Mexico is enjoying screwing us right now and we (I mean Biden and the Democrats) are stupid. If we shut off all imports, all travel, all commerce from Mexico into the U.S. Their own people will tell the left wing commie president to stop the illegal traffic going to the border. THEN we can talk abut opening it up again.

I'm sure Trump didn't mean "the blood of our country" in a racial sense, but I do wish he would stop saying things that give his enemies the opportunity to jump on his words and twist them. He just has no talent for tact.
As for Chicago eliminating "high achieving" school programs, if they're talking about public schools within the city limits, there are no high achievers there anyway. The high achievers have migrated to private schools. RebeccaH: I'm sure Trump didn't mean "the blood of our country" in a racial sense
It's from Mein Kampf. Any fair reading would reveal that Hitler was referring to the vertebrate circulatory system. RebeccaH: but I do wish he would stop saying things that give his enemies the opportunity to jump on his words and twist them. The words aren't being twisted. Trump purposefully uses such words to troll his adversaries and embolden authoritarians on the political right. Spouts the resident troll who's describing their own MO.
I'm sure Trump didn't mean "the blood of our country" in a racial sense
And he didn't call people "vermin", either. Doesn't matter, though- the left will lie about anything he says and the media (BIRM) will report the lies. Not Sure: And he didn't call people "vermin"
Trump: “we pledge to you that we will root out the communists, Marxists, fascists and the radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country." Hitler: “this vermin must be destroyed.” Saying "radical left thugs that live like vermin" is not the same thing as saying "radical left thugs are vermin". Idiots and leftists will likely have difficulty understanding the difference, of course.
Not Sure: Saying "radical left thugs that live like vermin" is not the same thing as saying "radical left thugs are vermin".
There’s no effective difference. Either way, the vermin get rooted out. OneGuy makes clear there is no effective difference. See below.

OneGuy heard it. Those on the far right, such as Neonazis, heard it that way too. Which shows how such eliminationist rhetoric worked historically. The so-called moderate conservatives excused it for short term political gain, all the while enabling it.

Re: Achieving Equity Through Mediocrity: Chicago Moves to Eliminate “High-Achieving” School Programs
The world of Harrison Bergeron is real. We just need a Harrison Bergeron to fight it. The problem is it didn't turn out too well for Harrison and even his mother wound up being distracted from his end.
The Rolling Stones rocker Keith Richards celebrates both his 80th birthday and 40th wedding anniversary
Given his history of drug use and drug abuse, I am reminded of the classic Mickey Mantle quote: "If I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself." Perhaps Keith Richards and Willie Nelson should pose together in a Better Living Through Chemistry poster. Lucianne gotta lucianne, huh? After any emergency, one expects a fall-off in any safety measure, because of fatigue in doing something unfamiliar and wanting to get back to normal. Suggesting that this is political has been stock-in-trade for almost four years, now, as the prior antivaxxers started saying this before any data was in. They are hoping to make it a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Sometimes it works. But we don't have to pretend it is in the least logical. Okay, people can resume arguing fro anecdotes and cherry-picked studies now. I am fatigued by that, frankly. The Colorado Supreme Court just ruled that Trump cannot be on the Colorado ballot because of the 14th amendment. This is the most anti-Democratic thing I have seen in my 80 years. 4 left wing judges decided 81 million voters don't get a choice and they used blatantly twisted logic to do it. There are four Colorado Supreme court judges that should be impeached and every case they ever ruled on relitigated.
SCOTUS will no doubt take this up. But what if they don't or even if they do they fail to overturn it? What if this ploy to steal the election works and other states do the same thing? Even those on the left should be scared. Consider everything the left is doing over the past 16 years or so to destabilize our country, the left's absolute treason during Trumps presidency and then they stolen election in 2020 and now this. If they succeed do you really think that they will "rule" fairly and adhere to the constitution??? This is a coup; a long slow silent coup. They aren't planning on being benevolent... "Even those on the left should be scared." We have been saying things like that for decades now, haven't we? It is apparently not true. Power and victory in the moment seems to rule - and sometimes it works.
In case anyone is missing it, after telling us how right-wing History's Socialists really really were, The Zachbot is telling us the Left's playbook for 2024 election season. Trump is using Hitler's words !!. His words are scary and terrifying !! This is the identical messaging that I heard on NPR this afternoon. Each Trump speech is being deconstructed to facilitate a comparison to the words of Hitler, with a special underscoring on Just How Scared we should all be. There are University Experts being called in to evaluate the words, pontificate on their true meaning across history, and advise us on exactly what levels of fear we should be calibrating ourselves to, each time Trump speaks.
Watch for this tactic. It's being rolled out. Trump is scary. His words cause fear. You should be terrified. There is no telling how far He will go to destroy Democracy and so on, and so forth. Aggie: Trump is using Hitler's words !!
Using authoritarian language; such as calling his political opponents vermin, the press the enemy of the people, or for the execution of a retired military general; is dangerous rhetoric that shows what Trump will attempt to do if he acquires power. 'It's dangerous ! ! He's Scary ! Authoritarian!
The old Booga-booga. We've already had 4 years of a totally Not-Authoritarian President Trump - but this time he's Hitler, for real. I saw a terrific political cartoon from a few yeara back, drawn by a Democrat calling Republicans 'vermin', complete with a bevy of long nosed, long-tailed rats with the names of Republicans on their backs. 'They're Vermin', said the Democrat, in a totally not-dangerous, politically-correct-but-not-racist-or-scary-or authoritarian' way. You're ridiculous. Aggie: I saw a terrific political cartoon from a few yeara back, drawn by a Democrat calling Republicans 'vermin',
Sure, because someone somewhere once maybe called someone else vermin justifies a leading candidate for president calling his political opponents vermin, the press enemies of the people, and calling for the execution of a retired military general for criticizing him. Same thing. "Using authoritarian language; such as calling his political opponents vermin...is dangerous rhetoric that shows what Trump will attempt to do if he acquires power."
Ahhh! But IF they are vermin, which arguably they are, then it is nothing more than speaking truth to power. AND THAT is why his supporters love him and the vermin hate him. And vermin get exterminated. Thank you for not trying to hide your eliminationist views.
I am just curious as to how we will move all of these illegals who are here now out of this country? Bus, plane, ship? How do you get 5 million people onto transportation and move them to where they don't want to go?
Build a prison on the Mexican border with a one way gate that empties in Mexico. Put the illegals in their and let them choose to cross back into Mexico or sit there.
Elsewhere in the U.S. make it illegal to aid in any way anyone who is here illegally. No jobs, no welfare, no housing, no meals. Deputize every American law enforcement officer to arrest anyone here illegally and send them to that prison. |
