Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

The money for high speed rail isn't wasted. It pays of Democrats friends and family and unions who donate millions to get more Democrats elected. See! They aren't incompetent at all. We are just to stupid to deserve our freedom.
Well Vivek Ramaswamy had the courage to say it out loud. Jan 6th was a setup by the feds under Pelosi. The demonstration was mostly peaceful except for some federal agitators in the crowd. Then once a massive force of federal and local law enforcement was on the scene they began firing rubber bullets and tossing flash grenades into the crowd. The federal government has been weaponized against us. Most of this was done under Obama but even after he was out of office his minions were still at work. What is the end game?
OneGuy: The demonstration was mostly peaceful except for some federal agitators in the crowd.
People dragging police officers out of a police line into a violent crowd were not federal agitators. This guy beating a cop with an American flag pole after he was dragged into the crowd was not a federal agitator. People who broke into the Capitol to stop the electoral count were not federal agitators. People who plotted to go to the Capitol to prevent the electoral count were not federal agitators. Um, no. Ordinary protesters. No burning buildings, no attacks on cops. Friends wanted to go, just skeptical about the election. That's not illegal.
Bird Dog: Um, no. Ordinary protesters.
The claim was that the demonstration was mostly peaceful "except for some federal agitators in the crowd." But that claim was false. While there were certainly ordinary protesters, none of the people we noted were ordinary protesters, nor were they federal agitators. They were Trump supporters. "The claim was that the demonstration was mostly peaceful "except for some federal agitators in the crowd." But that claim was false."
That claim was not false. Your examples actually bolster the fact that it was mostly peaceful. Once again the Quibble-DickZ ignore the evidence and promote their special kind of propaganda.

Your still photos remind me of the Eddie Adams Saigon Execution photo. The truth behind the photo, that General Loan had just executed a war criminal (Nguyễn Văn Lém), caught red handed carrying out operations while not in uniform, was completely white washed out of the story. The photo was immediately used as a propaganda picture to bolster the anti Vietnam war protesters. The protesters never cared about the truth.
From All That's Interesting dot com: QUOTE: On the morning of the “Saigon Execution” photo, Nguyễn Văn Lém’s death squad had just killed 34 people – seven police officers, two or three Americans, and several police officers’ family members, all bound at the wrists and shot in the head over a pit – and they may have been looking for Loan himself. B. Hammer: Your still photos remind me of the Eddie Adams Saigon Execution photo.
Don't see the connection. Are you claiming the Capitol police officer prone on the ground just killed "seven police officers, two or three Americans, and several police officers’ family members, all bound at the wrists and shot in the head over a pit," or do you mean the guy with the American flag pole beating the Capitol police officer prone on the ground? Of course you don't see the connection. Not surprising.

Thought there might have been. Let us know once you are able to articulate it.

Of course there was violence. That is what was intended. Get a few hundred cops fully armed against unarmed citizens and tell the police to beat grandmothers with a nightstick, lob flash grenades into the crowd and shoot people with rubber bullets and you get violence.
I am a big supporter of the police and all first responders. But even watching the show COPS I often saw the police using brute force and violence when it wasn't necessary. They literally enjoyed it. A very bad look for them. Yes I know when dealing with volent people it is hard to not get in a few dirty punches when you get them down. But for christ sakes don't do it on TV in front of everyone.

OneGuy: Of course there was violence.
Before moving on to your new faulty claim, you should address your original claim that the demonstration was mostly peaceful "except for some federal agitators in the crowd." That implies that the only violence was by federal agitators. We provided several examples of violent behavior by people who were not federal agitators. Hence, your claim was false. As for your new claim, even if police overreacted, that doesn’t justify violently storming the Capitol.

And of course the Quibble-DickZ continue to promote their Soviet styled propaganda by using a couple of cherry picked photos to make fraudulent claims.

Thanks for the Ron DeSantis note. The Coolidge quote at Althouse is also very noteworthy.
We mustn't forget Calvin Coolidge's scientific contribution, the Coolidge Effect:
QUOTE: The President and Mrs. Coolidge were being shown, in separate parties, around a new experimental farm. When Mrs. Coolidge came to the chicken yard she noticed that a rooster was mating very frequently. She asked the attendant how often that happened. The proud attendant said, "Dozens of times each day!" Mrs. Coolidge said, "Tell that to the President when he comes by." Upon being told, the President asked, "Same hen every time?" The reply was, "Oh, no, Mr. President, a different hen every time." President: "Tell that to Mrs. Coolidge." At a White House dinner, a woman seated next to President Coolidge turned to him and declared, "Mr President, I've made a five-dollar bet with my friend that I would be able to make you say more than two words tonight".
To which Coolidge replied, "You lose". (Possibly apocryphal, but still good.) 'Long After COVID Pandemic Ended, Not One Federal Agency Has More than 50% of Its Staff at Office'
One of the few good things about the plandemic. QUOTE: Ukraine has no path to victory and the war has become a massive sunk cost, yet Congress is about to send $60 billion more taxpayer dollars to Zelensky . . . Not my problem Yeah. Who could imagine that the invasion of an underdeveloped country in eastern Europe could embroil the United States in a global war. Not going to happen. Most American can't even find it on the map. QUOTE: Ukraine has no path to victory . . . While there is no clear path to victory, there is a clear path to defeat. Lord Heathen: Napoleon and Hitler.
And, more recently, Afghanistan. Russia is primarily equipped for a land war. The Ukes are well aware of that now ... just ask them about all the 155 rounds hitting their backyard.
For Zelensky to listen to the Brit advice about peace offerings from Russia went from poorly reformed to extra stupid with a side order of caskets. And yet the Russians have failed hands down to make any substantive advances since they launched their thoroughly botched invasion almost two years ago.
I sincerely hope that if that's true about the FAA's new hiring practices, most of those DEI candidates will wash out of the training. In any case, with recent history, I'm never setting foot on another airplane ever.

$5000 VISA card Here's Trump's 10-Point Plan to "Shatter the Deep State"
https://www.independentsentinel.com/heres-trumps-10-point-plan-to-shatter-the-deep-state/ I like his idea of moving agencies out of DC. Dept of the interior should be in... well the interior, Western Colorado. The FBI should be closer to the crimes, St Louis or Chicago perhaps. The EPA, DO Energy and education should be eliminated. Congress should consider meeting a few times a year in different states just to get out amongst the citizens. Congressional committees should meet in locations outside of DC too, again to give Americans a chance to be involved. Surely the Supreme Court could spend a week at a time in various big cities around the country. I think we should move the UN out of NYC and into an empty building in Kiev.
Who gets to decide what is or isn’t gender neutral? If a truck is a boy’s toy, you’re sending a message to girls that they can’t drive trucks. Toys are toys and kids are kids. Let them play whatever toy they want. And it may very well turn out to be the box the toy came in.
