We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
This is a compilation of brief quotes from those who realized the unreality and impermanence of perception and awoke to the natural and permanent state of effortless being.

Thank you for this. I don't think physics will tell us about consciousness, but I do think AI will.
Scott Adams said consciousness is predicting what will happen. If you have had serious fall hiking or skiing and found yourself on the ground wondering what happened you see that Adams' theory makes a lot of sense. I conclude that consciousness is the dream you have when you are awake stimulated by external variables. When you cannot process them all you loose it.
