Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

I don't know if Vivek Ramaswamy is a fraud or not, I do find it interesting that his "crime" is in claiming he is in favor of what the voters want. While I agree that if you say those things only to get elected and then once in office do the opposite then indeed you are a fraud. But the greater point is that the Republicans seem to prefer that we elect one of those candidates who does not favor what the voters want. Where is the wisdom in that? We should embrace Pence or Christy or one of the other faux Republicans???
The lesson instead should be that the politicians do not run for election just to gain office and do whatever they please. They are supposed to represent their constituents and do the right thing. If they cannot do that they should do something else with their life. I concur. Trump is my first choice, but I wouldn't mind having Vivek in the Oval Office.
I'd be good with Trump, Vivek or DeSantis.
Pence? Christie? Oh, hell no. I'm not going to dump "Good Enough" for anyone's idea of a 'Perfect Candidate'. There's no such thing. Well, of course he's a fraud, the Anonymous guy on the internet says so, doesn't he? He's an authority - right?
The author slings a great deal of mud and sounds like the love child of McCain and Romney. I am leary of someone without a track record, but anyone who cites that bitch as an authority must be a fan of the whale from NJ. I'm sure the masked bandit is probably an Obamaista.
My concern about Vivek is that he seems to be a sort of "technocrat", a politician who thinks that Government can actually solve problems that people have if only it would do the right things-- and I know what the right things are. Doing that invariably involves increased taxes and regulations (infringements of liberty) in partnership with the Left.
Well Vivek is a smart guy, but nobody is that smart. I prefer the outlook that the Government itself is the biggest problem we have, so the less of it, the better off we are. Stick to the explicitly enumerated powers in the Constitution only. It's an idea that's so crazy, it might just work. Chris Christy and Asa Hutchison are paid election disrupters. Perhaps not paid in cash but by promise of appointment to a cushy job in the future. Their purpose in running for president is not to win but rather to make sure trump does not win. The same Republicans that are impeaching Ken Paxton are trying to destroy President Trump and for the same reasons; THEY want power and these populist upstarts must be stopped. They will win in my opinion. That is they will take down populist Republicans even at the expense of electing left wing Democrats. You would think that would bother them to allow Democrats to win over a Republican; You would be wrong. They lust for power not service. They aren't in politics to do good things they are in politics to get rich.
Look at how Mitch McConnell backed RINO Murkowski in the Alaska Senate race over Tshibaka, the choice of real Republicans. I don't know if Ramaswamy is a fraud or not, but he's not a professional politician and that's enough for me to give him the benefit of the doubt. Looking at what a bang-up job the experts and the pros have done at running this country into the ground, I'm done listening to these jack-wagons.
It's funny how the 'experts' always have the same answers, which boil down to "We'll keep doing the same stuff we have been, because that's 'managing' the problem, and we'd rather manage it than solve it and expose ourselves to potential new problems that we don't know how to manage."
MSNBC Columnist: Donald Trump ‘Must Die in Prison’ to ‘Protect’ Democratic Republic
One wonders what percentage of dems the author speaks for? QUOTE: Former President Donald Trump “must die in prison” to “protect the Democratic Republic,” according to MSNBC Columnist Dean Obeidallah, who claimed he is “passionate” about the matter “with every fiber” of his being. https://12ft.io/proxy?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.breitbart.com%2Fpolitics%2F2023%2F09%2F13%2Fmsnbc-columnist-donald-trump-must-die-in-prison-to-protect-democratic-republic%2F What none of the MSM or uniparty understand is that Trump is not their problem... it is everyone that supports Trump that is their real problem. This started with the Tea Party and it won't end until the clowns in media and DC are gone.
Trump is a tool - something that we (outside the beltway) can use against the pretentious aristocracy inside the Beltway. He's a Swiss Army Knife of sorts - might not be the best tool for a particular job, but he's in our pocket (so to speak) and can do a lot of different things even if not optimally.
Now, I'm reasonably sure that at least SOME of the folks inside the Beltway, who think they're 'elite', were aware of the French Revolution. The parallels escape them. The peasants wouldn't revolt, would they? They're so GOOD to the peasants, throwing money out at them. The peasants should be grateful for the largesse. Except that largesse comes at our expense. It always does, and the return on investment there... well, what we're getting isn't worth the money for the most part, and we're never going to see a good accounting of where the trillions spent each year good. They don't see that Trump's probably their last chance to avoid the tumbrils. CVS and Cigna... Why would this surprise anyone? Drugs and medical care paid by government is an endless money trough funded by taxpayers and managed by incompetents. All of whom want to be as well off as Mark Cuban doing what they are now doing.
Urban retail deserts... If those were government stores they would never close. The private sector stores need law and law enforcement. Perhaps the government wants to become the retail store monopolist. Infanticide-we are repaganizing... abortion, vaxxing pregnant women and children, grooming, and the tranny culture are sure 'mile markers' for the pagan regime. All marching under the rainbow flag with antifa/blm security. |
