Roman swords ‘in almost mint condition’ discovered after 1,900 years in Dead Sea cave

The trove of ancient artifacts – four swords and the head of a javelin known as a “pilum” — was found by Israeli archaeologists during an excavation in an area known as a hideout for Jewish rebels against the Romans in the 130s, leading researchers to believe that the weapons were booty captured by the insurgents.

The shape of three of the blades recalls Roman “spatha” swords, and the fourth has a ring-and-pommel design consistent with the period, the Israel Antiquities Authority said.

A bronze coin from the time of the Bar Kokhba rebellion of 132-135 AD, which challenged the Roman Empire’s rule of Judea, was found at the entrance to the cave concealing the weapons for nearly two millennia.

Great example of the power of estimation based on a simple model. (It's models — all the way down!) The model can be improved by including the reduction in u-boats over time and how fast they can be replaced. Also, each additional B-24 generally has less effect.

I read both the theater article, and the "tragic hetero" article. I can sum up both. Bitter losers are bitter, and want to take it out on all who are not bitter losers. They will shove their bitterness in your face until you say, "Oh, poor baby" and acquiesce to their bitter demands. They will kill off the arts. They will kill off education. Given the chance they will kill off everyone who is not a bitter loser. Unfortunately, they being given the chance.

That's a brazen power grab.

We knew the Left was going to try this sooner or later.

What's the penalty for defying the decree? Perhaps large scale civil disobedience is called for?

I wonder what the courts and the voters will think, or even local law enforcement for that matter?

Then again perhaps it doesn't matter if the courts are corrupt and the vote is rigged.

If this edict succeeds in New Mexico, look for Governors in blue states to issue their own "emergency" gun bans.

The decree explicitly gives enforcement power exclusively to state police. Local LEOs don't have to be involved. Although one could see a mayor wanting to be a dictator as well, so stay tuned.

Had a SIL who was/is a raging feminist for the past 50 years! She recently moved to Albuquerque declaring that "is a state for forward-thinking women like myself". "The governor is a feminist. She is getting married this year--do you know who will be officiating at her wedding?" "Kamala Harris--the VICE PRESIDENT! Isn't that wonderful"

Of course, SIL who has been a 4th grade teacher for 50 years never stopped to ask which state in the union is at the bottom of the list for a quality public school education !

A few days ago no one had heard of Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. Why would the least known governor in the U.S. suddenly declare a health emergency and decide it trumps the constitution? This is no mere whim of a stupid unknown governor this is a conspiracy at the highest level. This is a test run of communism AND conditioning Americans to more tyranny to come. Ms Grisham knows her declaration is unconstitutional but that's the point. To do this right in your face and dare you to try to enjoy your constitutional rights. And why not, these Nazi bastards never face any repercussions for their illegal actions. And THAT is the reason they will continue to do it.
