We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

This is just a general comment/request on a general post. It's something I think about every time I click on my favorite "what's happening in the world" link.

I would certainly love it if MF had a favicon. Of the 36 favorites showing on my tool bar it is the only one without a customized favicon that ID's the link. Alas, I must use the generic, system supplied icon with an added text description... Maybe sometime soon I'll be pleasantly surprised with a new custom button to click!

Brittney Cooper proves how little you need to know about, well, anything, but specifically history, to become a tenured professor of Women and Gender studies. She is a bigot. I’m a white person who despises all forms of racism. And I am certainly not a villain. Plus, I read a lot of history.

The one thing that every race has in common, is that they are prone to cruelty towards one another. There are always a handful, or in our modern parlance, a whole Washington DC size city full of people that will treat you like dirt. They will try and steal everything that you own. They will do every sort of cruelty towards their fellow humans in order to get what they desire. They will lie, cheat, murder, whatever it takes. It is a common attribute of all races.

"cultural responsive". Hawaii is a hot bed of racism much like the old South of the 60's. Watch the videos of native Hawaiians spewing hate and using the recent fire as an excuse. Even the relief sites are segregated and full of racial anger. This has always been true in Hawaii but not always blatant. The Hawaiians hate the whites, Japanese and Chinese. The Chinese hate the Japanese and they both hate the Hawaiians. The Pacific Islanders hate the whites and the Asians. Everyone hates the tourists even though tourism is the basis of all jobs and wealth there.

The 'Prophet of Power Density' link isn't functional.

The EPA with its new power plant rule-making is just following what has become a standard practice: Publish something that is complete nonsense, and validate it through repetition - get other sympathetic interests to approve-by-consensus, buttressing its imagined facts simply by quoting the report. 'It must be true! It was published, wasn't it?'

Same thing as the 'Russia' dossier.

The US Post office uses a system called mail imaging which takes a front and back picture of every letter and package with other geo data attached to be used to identify anyone using the mail fraudulently. In the months before the 2020 election this system was paused until December. Why? No explanation was ever given. Had it been in use voter fraud by mail could have been identified, but it was paused. No one has ever asked for an explanation. No congress person, no news person, no one.

Ungovernable US cities ... The elected politicians are NOT going to prosecute those who elected them over the last few years. If they did prosecute, they would have to look for non-grifter work after the next election.
The mom and pop stores are being driven out of business. The corporatists that funded the political grifters deserve all the shafting they get and then declare bankruptcy.
