Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

re San Francisco Mayor: We Should ‘Get Rid of Most Taxes’ to Attract Businesses
QUOTE: Breed said, “Well, first of all, I would — if I could do it tomorrow morning, I would get rid of most taxes on the books. I want to also be clear that businesses need to pay their fair share. But not at the expense of losing business as a whole. So, I would completely reform the tax system to make it more fair, to make it more equitable, and to make it work for both the city and those businesses. I would also make sure that the streets and the city is clean and it’s safe, because we need to make sure that, as people come here on public transportation, as they move around the city using different modes of transportation, that they’re getting to work safe and they want to be here.” Her comments on reducing taxes are nothing more than double talk and platitudes. The devil is in the details and the Democrat playbook calls for ever increasing taxes. As for making the city safe, she hasn't lifted a finger to do that. The good news is that she at least recognizes the solutions to some of the City's problems. The bad news I fear is that SF does not have the political inclination or determination to enact such measures. San Francisco will catch up with Baltimore. The governors, attorneys general and mayors are ALL elected by the voters and the voters are getting exactly that for which they voted. The cities are no longer sustainable due to the corruption of the voter and the politicians they elect.

What's fair? Progressives in unison: MOAR re Bud Light To Lay Off Hundreds Of Employees In Wake Of Disastrous Pro-Trans Marketing
I suppose one should feel sorry for those being laid off, but people are laid off all the time as a result of the after effects of disastrous decisions coming from corporate execs. Ineptitude at the top is nothing new. Too many retailers are forgetting that they survive by marketing products that customers want rather than marketing politics that customers do NOT want. Recently, the wife and I went to a Sams store as the result of a cheap membership promotion. I was surprised by the number of displays that had no product because people were not buying what they displayed. They have forgotten who their customer is and what they can afford. One can go to most any local Mennonite "Dutch" store and see what is not selling in the big box stores. People are buying the very basics and nothing that is fancy. The markets are changing faster than what the retailers can adapt to and I expect more downsizing and bankruptcies.

They should probably get rid of the piles of human feces on the sidewalks before they do anything else. Government and science is best understood if you instead call it government science. Government buys what is in the governments best interest.
Do They WANT Him Assassinated? Biden-Harris Regime DENY Secret Service Protection for RFK Jr
https://thelibertydaily.com/do-they-want-him-assassinated-biden-harris-regime-deny-secret-service-protection-for-rfk-jr/ I've seen elsewhere that the rules state that Secret Service protection only kicks in much closer to the election date. However, given the First Son has all sorts of privileges including a heavy SS motorcade to his "plea bargening" hearing, the reluctance to grand Mr Kennedy this protection rings hollow.
The death of Obama's chef is now getting very suspicious. Some obvious coverup with the obvious conclusion, why? Was Barack actually home when this happened? Was Barack actually paddle boarding with his chef at the time? Why the secrecy? One theory is that Barack was in a sexual relationship with the chef maybe sous vide'ing his hot dog. Another is that the chef was writing a book and wrote some things that put the Obama's in a very bad light. Imagine that you worked inside Obama's home everyday and knew who visited, even overheard conversations and you collected all that information to later write a book. Obama is known to be involved in some nefarious doings and wouldn't want things known if the DOJ were to ever get cleaned up.
That sure is some crazy kind of far out there conspiracy theory!
