Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Is the Republican House savvy enough to continue? What seems clear is that, between Weiss and Garland, a game is being played with words as smokescreen. The investigation by the IRS Special Agents was being throttled, so that the clock could run out on the Statute of Limitations. But the insistence of the IRS Special Agents makes it difficult to hide who was issuing the instructions to delay. Weiss and Garland seem to be playing the 'it was all just a big misunderstanding' game, but if the House insists on sworn testimony, they will get to the bottom of it. I suspect that there is a ready-made 'mistakes were made' defense being held in reserve, so that shame can be called for, rather than impeachment. What would happen if lawmakers decided instead to make a special case of extending the Statutes, though? After all, Democrats just did that in New York to go after Trump.
QUOTE: Mr. Weiss reached out to the top federal prosecutor in Washington, Matthew Graves, to ask his office to pursue charges and was rebuffed, according to Mr. Shapley’s testimony. QUOTE: {Weiss has} ultimate authority over this matter, including responsibility for deciding where, when, and whether to file charges. Those statements are not in contradiction. That's a 'so what?' answer. If they had wanted to prosecute, they would have. If they didn't want to prosecute, there's a procedure for that, too - as you have just laid out. Sucks to be corrupt, though. Sooner or later people start to notice.
Aggie: That's a 'so what?' answer.
Weiss claimed he had ultimate authority over prosecution. That is supposedly contradicted by the first statement. However, they are not in contradiction. Aggie: If they had wanted to prosecute, they would have. If they didn't want to prosecute, there's a procedure for that, too Plea deals are very common in these sorts of cases. "Nonbinary" claims in NJ are "skyrocketing"
Call it what it is: trends-genderism. To understand human behavior, look at the incentives. If one is recognized as "trans" or "non-binary" one goes to the head of the line where preferences are handed out to Victims of The System. For many these days, that is the name of the game.
Parenthetically, I've always considered myself non-binary because there is only one of me--at least that I'm aware of. But nobody ever gave me any prizes for it. Victoria Police [State of Victoria, Australia] are investigating an alleged spike in officers identifying as non-binary to claim an extra $1,100 in wardrobe allowance.
Male police officers receive a $2,554 civilian clothing allowance each, while their female colleagues receive $3,674 added to their pay. The allegations involve officers changing their gender status because those who are gender neutral get the higher female allowance. Search "victorian police clothing allowance non-binary" for details. re: Ramaswamy

An enormous gravity hum thought to be caused by black holes ... wasn't it only in the last couple of weeks that a mathematician proved that black holes can't exist?
Another "consensus"? indyjonesouthere: An enormous gravity hum thought to be caused by black holes ... wasn't it only in the last couple of weeks that a mathematician proved that black holes can't exist? Another "consensus"?
If by "couple of weeks," you mean nearly a decade. Mersini-Houghton's paper was highly speculative and disputed by other researchers. There is still a lot unknown about black holes, especially the effect of Hawking radiation at the event horizon; however, the observational evidence for their existence is very strong. Mersini-Houghton does seem to show that current models of black holes are inadequate, but that was already known. The mathematician article was in the news only a couple of weeks ago. It would seem neither idea has reached the level of being a theory. They are, primarily, talking points.

Great! Then you won't mind providing a link or citation. I didn't save the link. It may have been on CFP, Whatfinger, Epoch Times, Rantingly, Ancipient news, or even Bad Blue.

Heh. Thanks for catching the allusion. However, that would be indyjonesouthere = Fermat !, as he had claimed there was a mathematical proof that “black holes can’t exist” but can’t seem to find room for it in the margin.

The writer claimed a mathematical solution that eliminates black holes just as the gravity hum seems to promote black holes. Perhaps both are hot air. The science of the last few decades seems to have fallen and can't get up. What does the bot of borgville have in the race?

On one side, we have extensive observational and theoretical evidence of black holes. On the other side, you say you heard something somewhere that someone you think is a mathematician said something somewhere. Truly a case for Buridan's ass.

The claim was disputed at the time, and additional evidence for black holes has continued to accumulate. YOU made the claim "only in the last couple of weeks that a mathematician proved that black holes can't exist". Let us know when you can substantiate your claim, or simply withdraw it.

The source I read was from a couple of weeks ago. That was the extent of the data. Don't actually care when the original data was published. And don't really care which side has more or less data. Nothing they publish will have any effect on my life and the current day science scams leave little confidence in the outcome of either sides data.

Ford to Layoff at Least 1,000 Workers, EV Startup Lordstown Motors Dies
https://mishtalk.com/economics/ford-to-layoff-at-least-1000-workers-ev-startup-lordstown-motors-dies/ and Electric Cars Are An Expensive Scam If EVs were really an innovation, the state wouldn’t have to bribe and force companies to produce them. https://thefederalist.com/2023/06/29/electric-cars-are-an-expensive-scam/ "wear masks and endure the hardships of social distancing"
Yesterday I was watching a video from 2022 where someone had entered a grocery store without a mask. The store used physical violence and the cops were called and they too used physical violence. This tactic was endorsed by the person taking the video. What happened back then is the stores were told to do this and they (the stores) being private property could trespass anyone not meeting their demands. It was all technically legal and the precedent that will be used in future discrimination against those who try to enjoy their constitutional rights. This was never about preventing the spread. It was always about an excuse to create a crisis that would allow the suspension of rules so that shit could be done behind the scenes that could never be undone (stolen election). If you are serious about pulling off this grift you MUST have the window dressing, i.e. mandatory masking and silly social distancing and of course physical violence by the government to enforce your unconstitutional demands. someone had entered a grocery store without a mask. The store used physical violence and the cops were called and they too used physical violence.
And yet employees are generally told and let thieves do their worst lest someone gets hurt. With the Left, it has always been about pushing those around who won't push back. Just wait until they get the war they've been pushing for and they can suspend the Constitution all together.
OneGuy: Yesterday I was watching a video from 2022 where someone had entered a grocery store without a mask.
Link, please. OneGuy: The store used physical violence and the cops were called and they too used physical violence. That's because you can bar someone from your property if they violate the rules of your establishment. OneGuy: It was all technically legal . . . Assuming by "technically legal," you mean a fundamental property right. "That's because you can bar someone from your property if they violate the rules of your establishment."
ABSOLUTELY!!! YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD. Our government forced the store owners to use their private property rights to bully citizens in a way that THEY could not. THAT is the definition of FASCISM. This is the first time I agree with you. This is the modus operandi of a tyrant and it is exactly what they intend to do in the future. OneGuy: Our government forced the store owners to use their private property rights to bully citizens in a way that THEY could not.
You forgot to provide the link. Dalrymple had the great quote about commie propaganda.
Well fed societies can entertain follies, no food will cause a new focus on reality. The burbs will always expand out from Capitol City and this will lead to the no food as it expands even beyond metro? Locally there is one westbound interstate exit where it opens up to Pineland farms and ranches and the warehouses and hospitals are springing up there with people complaining about their long gone nature view. Massive migration here from CPUSA (D) utopias and they will eventually vote for what they escaped in order to enlighten us toothless hill scoggin rubes about muh cosmopolitan man. More of that well fed society with too much time on its hands. " But because the scummiest travelers on earth have figured out how to game that system, they’re now MAKING UP needing wheelchair assistance just to board earlier. The way they got found out? Well, because 20 people requested wheelchair assistance to board one flight, and miraculously, only 3 of those people needed assistance OFF THE FREAKING PLANE."
They should call this a miracle and devote one day a year to celebrating it. There is a comparable example right here on the ground at every store and that is handicapped parking. While I admit you cannot always tell that someone has a handicap even if they are a young person and beat you to the door after getting out of their car. But lets face it most of those who park in handicapped spaces are either using someone else's handicap placard or got one through fraud. It does make you wonder how many and to what extent other government programs are abused. The Elizabeth Warren, Rachell Dolezal and Ward Churchill progs harvest shortcuts for advantage and convenience. They are lazy and afflicted with a moral superiority that allows for the breaking of the rules of the "norms" who follow rules and laws.
That it even comes down to cheating the handicapped parking rules should be no surprise. Christian moral codes are evaporating and the result is evident to most. I would disagree with the statement that at 200B COVID relief was the biggest scam in history. The many trillions wasted on the Climate Change/Global Warming hoax puts that claim to shame.
