Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

I think the story of Chicago blacks not wanting to give the free stuff to illegals is funny as hell. The problem with the Democrat policy of divisive and "anti" rhetoric is that it is divisive and anti. The entire Democrat party is made up of grifters and whiners and now they are fighting over the spoils. Can't wait to see the reparations backfire on them.
The federal government should not be giving states and cities money for anything. The states and the cities should fund their own governments and the federal government should not be extorting states and cities to do their bidding by giving or denying federal funds. re Allstate stops writing new homeowner policies in CA, too
QUOTE: Perhaps that’s because the state’s leadership has made it impossible for risk pools to operate properly in the state. If they cannot charge enough to cover their risks after California imposed price caps on premiums, their only option is to stop assuming new risk at all. That explains it. Price caps inevitably create shortages. When vendors can't make money on their goods and services, they disappear from the market. Yup - then it's a "market failure" which only government can solve.
And other States pissed because they’re rates going up subsidizing California’s price controls. Maybe the markets are figuring out you really don’t have to deal with California’s regulatory bullsh*t.
"Trump is a jerk"
He is flippant, and knee jerk honest in his statements as opposed to diplomatic and evasive. He does come off like a jerk sometimes, an honest expose the swamp jerk. I think he made a mistake with the McEnany issue. She is a good person and was good in her job. But the underlying issue is that the elite don't want Trump and they don't want a populist MAGA voter to elect presidents or congressmen. They will do or say anything to get their way and the Republicans are all in with this. https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2023/06/01/do-you-live-in-pa-mi-wi-nv-ga-va-nj-ny-wa-or-az/#more-247270 It is for this reason that Trump must be defeated and right now the elite are betting on DeSantis. Does this make DeSantis a good option for MAGA voters? No, it makes DeSantis the worst option. The only question is: Does DeSantis know he is being used to destroy the MAGA Republicans? And if he does know this does this make him a traitor? Ace has a link to this interesting story of Jesse the truck driver. A synopsis: In early October Jesse drove 288k ballots from New York to Harrisburg, PA. He never unloaded his trailer, but was told to drive to Lancaster. In Lancaster he was told to park his truck and trailer in the usual spot. The next morning the trailer was gone. The printer in NY has no record on how these ballots got from NY to PA. From Ace: “ The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania certified its 2020 election despite the undisputed fact that it had recorded 202,000 more ballots cast than voters.” Much more at the links.
My point in the above paragraph is that I don’t know if it’s possible to vote our way out of this. Look what they did in Arizona. I don’t know if DeSantis is some GOPe stooge. His governing record in Florida seems to indicate that he isn’t. Yes, the big GOPe money is backing him; where else are they going to put their money? None of the other candidates have a snowballs chance in hell. What I am very much sure of is that a second term from Trump, will be exactly like his last term: everyone will be out to get him. He has thrown under the bus just about every political ally there is. Voter support for him doesn’t get nuanced legislation passed. He’s punched too many ‘principled’ republicans in the kidneys to have any sort of effective second term. Who the heck is he going to get to populate his cabinet? Who wants to work for him? Remember that Joe told us that the greatest vote fraud in history was ready to select him into the White House? Not much has changed. Red states have changed their voting laws somewhat, but is that enough? The democrats aren’t going to suddenly quit cheating. America is in a hell of a mess. I really don’t think Trump can fix it. Neither can DeSantis. But maybe a DeSantis presidency, two terms, can begin a recovery - if, by some miracle the cheating fails. “ The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania certified its 2020 election despite the undisputed fact that it had recorded 202,000 more ballots cast than voters.”
He must mean voter history not voters because there were 6,915,283 votes cast and ~9,090,000 registered voters. Take it for what it's worth, but I know that his claim is not true. The number he is using for voter history was taken too early from a state reporting system, before all counties had submitted their voter history lists. Official election data needs to be taken from the counties, not the state reports and the county data matches up. It's bad data analysis in this case and I am personally very familiar with this specific data. I am not arguing about the election outcome or trying to convince you or anyone else of the truth. I'm just sharing what I know of this specific case. Take it how you will. I appreciate that info. I much prefer to think we still have a mostly honest election system. There sure is a lot of questionable things that happened. Like six states stopping counting at the same time.
The voter numbers came from this American Thinker piece. That author claims that there are still 91k votes unaccounted for. Sure. And I don't know enough about the myriad of other claims to comment on them, just that one situation.

Registered voters are not necessarily legal voters if you read the piece that was posted at theconservativetreehouse blog. It was reposted june1, 2023 with the title "Do you live in Pa, Mi, Wi, NV, GA, Va, Nj, Ny, Wa, or Az?"
What he found out, from a programmer that was part of the California motor/voter scheme, is that on the license app there is a box you must check if you are a citizen and then you are automatically registered to vote. It was also revealed that if you leave the box blank you will still be automatically registered to vote. So you CAN be registered to vote without being a citizen. Read the whole article ... it is rather enlightening on how all the registration scams appear legal but are anything but legal. Register for public assistance, state benefits, state college, or any state system and you are now a registered voter. The registration system is designed for cheating the vote.

I read the article and I understand where they are coming from, but they are literally ignoring every single check and balance in the system that prevents that. No mention at all of the processes in place to detect and remove the problems. They do exist and have bi-partisan oversight at every level.
I am hardcore conservative with detailed and intimate knowledge of the voting and registration systems in 3 mid-eastern states. I cannot convince even the people closest to me that there wasn't widespread fraud in those places, so I'm not about to attempt it here, haha. My only message to the conservatives: Even if you believe the system is a complete fraud, it really only takes about 30 minutes or less to cast a ballot (about 5 minutes for me usually), so why stay away? It doesn't mean you have to put all your hope and trust and dreams into it...

Also, I don't disagree with the idea of the RNC and DNC 'club' as stated in the article and I do see that as the actual problem we face.

I worked with total jerks from time to time - many of whom were great at their jobs! Often “being a jerk” meant telling inconvenient truths.
But being an ass to everyone who doesn’t bend the knee is a sure way to lose elections. Independents hate Trump, many Republicans who voted for him twice are over his temper-tantrums, he absolutely cannot win a general.
A lot of people on the right have to figure out if they want to win elections, or just happily go down with the captain and the ship. The Trump cultists will not accept any criticism of their flawed leader. I voted for him twice, but I hope to have another choice to vote for in 2024 who's not a Democrat. He did some good, but he didn't consolidate any of it. He did not exhibit strong leadership on COVID and let the left have its way, for the most part, in regards to the pandemic. He trashes people who have worked well in his cause. His similarity to a toddler having temper tantrums increases as time goes by.
'Are There Any Democrats Left Who Are Not Fully On Board With The Agenda Of The Radical Left?'
Tulsi and whatever Kennedy is running in 2024. That's about it. And yeah, Trump can be an asshole sometimes, but with the way things are going, that's what we need right now. "Why is China an enemy?" Let me count the ways: 1. Because they steal American technology and sell it back to us for 10c on the dollar, thus putting Americans of work? 2. They unleashed a bioweapon on the world; 3. Their military openly threatens the United States and our allies? 4. They don't believe in freedom.
Why is China an enemy, you ask? China is America’s (potential) enemy, because China’s political and military leadership, who has complete control over the Chinese people, has decided that the United States of America stands in the way of their destiny for global dominance. It is that simple.
re: China Today
The comments in that blog post are more insightful than the essay itself. It's not that the fire risk is too high but that too many policies need to be paid off at once when it happens. You can't average the risk.
