We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
There are so many times i have mowed the lawn and miraculously had the blades high enough to miss the youngins. They look like smooth lake stones when theyre newborn
Here in NW Wyoming we've had a plague go through the rabbits. It's a new form of a hemorrhagic fever that has killed about 90% of the cottontail and jackrabbit population in the wild, and is threatening the domestically-raised population as well.
We didn't see a rabbit all of last year, and this year they're only finally starting to make a comeback. It's been hard on the predator population since rabbits are a normal food source for a wide variety of critters.
