Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Bird Dog: It's not a boycott - just avoidance
Of course it's a boycott. A lot of people have expressed a lot of hate and cruelty towards Mulvaney. Still not sure why people are canceling, considering the cancelers would have never even heard of Dylan Mulvaney absent the right-wing rage machine. (It was a one-time targeted campaign, one of hundreds.) "Still not sure why people are canceling"
Multiple answers to your uncertainty are in the article. You should read it. Really, you're just butthurt that the left wing rage machine doesn't have exclusive use of the tactic. "(It was a one-time targeted campaign, one of hundreds.)" From the article: There is indeed a limit to the number of crap sandwiches we are forced to eat. QUOTE: There is indeed a limit to the number of crap sandwiches we are forced to eat. That's just it. No one is forcing anyone to watch Dylan Mulvaney or drink Bud Light. People have every right to watch or not watch whomever they want, to drink or not drink whatever they want; but the reason for the boycott seems to be based on hate and vilification. "the reason for the boycott seems to be based on hate and vilification."
Why do they openly push these far left idiotic bizarre lifestyles on us and our children? Is that based on hate and vilification? Is there another reason why this must be force fed to us constantly? I used to watch HGTV and found the home remodeling shows to be interesting. And suddenly 100% of the participants on the channel are gay. Coincidence or a concerted effort to force this on all of us? I think we can all agree it was an intentional choice by the companies involved. But as you say that is their right. They could have chosen to force KKK on us or pro-Hitler gas chambers, as you say that is their right. I don't like the idea of pushing this deviate lifestyle on our children so I exercise my right to not watch, to not support and to encourage others to do the same. Never forget that the elite hate you and this hate is expressed by forcing this left wing pedophile propaganda on your children to groom them to accept it. OneGuy: Is there another reason why this must be force fed to us constantly?
Again, no one is forcing you to watch Dylan Mulvaney. You probably would never have even heard of her unless the right-wing rage machine made her an issue. OneGuy: pro-Hitler gas chambers You do realize that people like Dylan Mulvaney would have been victims of the Nazis, forced to wear pink triangles before being murdered. Aggie: Nobody is forcing you to cry harder.
Guess some people just have to get their hate on. So Quibble-DickZ, do you buy your Bud Light from Target?
If not, you are canceling.

Yes, so many haters, when all we want to do is get to know your kids and help them learn things.

Yeah. It makes you wonder why people hate other people so much, or why they care so much about what they buy for their kids.

"no one is forcing you"
That's kind of like saying walls don't work so don't you dare build the wall. If there was no intent to shove it down our throat it would not be on TV or in advertising. Let me explain what not forcing it down our throats looks like; Not on TV, not in the news, not on the internet, because why would you do that... except to force people to see it. I am 80 YO and I exercise everyday. Did you know that? Of course not because I didn't put it on TV or YouTube. Your welcome. OneGuy: If there was no intent to shove it down our throat it would not be on TV or in advertising.
That makes no sense. Even in the olden days, you could just turn the channel. Nowadays, the ad was targeted to Mulvaney’s followers, so it is unlikely you would have ever known about it absent the right-wing rage machine—unless you were actually following Mulvaney. Even if you stumbled across it, you could have switched to one of the billions of other options.

Look, I'll make it clear. Beer advertising works by associating the product with some other thing. Associate beer with sexy women or humor and men buy it. Associate beer with a mentally ill 26 year old man pretending to be a pre-teen girl and men will not buy it. It was a purposeful advertising move and according to the ad exec they were going to do a lot more of it.
It's not hate of a person. It's hate for systemic normalizing of debased behavior and not wanting to be a part of it. YOU were the one pointing out that he had over a billion views. Now you want to act like it was a very small targeted campaign. LMAO.

You cannot target what turned into 1 billion views and expect it won't be widespread.

BD and others at Maggie's Farm, thanks for having such a wonderful website. Later to go see my Dad, grateful that I see him on Veterans Day and not just remember him on Memorial Day. He's one of the lucky ones to actually return from Vietnam.
Hear! Hear! Americans should always be grateful for the sacrifice of those who serve in the military and their families. Let us hope the American people will always show wisdom in their decisions regarding war and peace.
My dad served in the US Army in WW2 and in Korea. Became ardent pacifist.
Two years ago I wouldn’t understand your dad’s perspective. Now, after all the lies that have been exposed…
My father-in-law was a very young infantryman and though not a true pacifist surely held war in contempt. I think the younger the troop the harder it is to accept the reality that you are living. I am always grateful that I was older as a combatant. It is still ugly but the mind seems more able to contend.
QUOTE: Our Illiterate College Students . . . How dumb are these kids? Do they seriously not understand that George Washington and his fellow colonials were the colonized, not the colonizers? While a colony can refer to an area under the control of a parent country, no one calls the original inhabitants of India colonials. A colony is also "a group of people who establish residence in that area and who retain ties with the parent state, e.g. members of Plymouth colony." It does not parse to say Britain colonized the American colonials. Until the American Revolution, the American colonials were citizens of the United Kingdom, so they were the British colonizers of the American continent. It's reasonable that Native Americans would see themselves on the receiving end of colonization, not just by the British, but by other European powers. You do know that the "native Americans" were colonizers too? Even as Spain was colonizing South America the Apaches were colonizing SW America and killing and enslaving the "native Americans" living there
JustMe: Even as Spain was colonizing South America the Apaches were colonizing SW America and killing and enslaving the "native Americans" living there
Colonizing powers are usually controlling the colonized area from a distance. When expanding into adjacent areas, it is usually described as an empire. Ahhh! I knew there was a reason why I and all Americans were bastards I just needed you to explain the difference. Is there anything we can do to "fix" this sin committed by people we don't know who all died some 500 years ago? Give reparations or something for eternity? Fall on our knees and let the new colonizers cut off our head? What? Or are we doomed to hear this for the next 5000 years from liars and grifters trying to colonize our minds and steal our freedoms? Get over it! I am so tired of you Karens and your colonizer grift.
JustMe: I knew there was a reason why I and all Americans were bastards I just needed you to explain the difference.
It's not that difficult. We're discussing why George Washington, a citizen of Britain, was a colonial and Britain was a colonizing power. JustMe: Is there anything we can do to "fix" this sin Probably not. But, if you feel the need to make a difference, remember the maxim, "No act of kindness no matter how small is ever wasted." "George Washington, a citizen of Britain"
When the "native" Americans came to the new world were they "citizens" of a another country? CrazyIdea: When the "native" Americans came to the new world were they "citizens" of a another country?
Citizenship is allegiance to a state, a centralized political organization. States didn't exist anywhere in the world when people first populated the Americas. States didn't develop until agriculture was well-established. Before then, people lived in stateless societies. "Citizenship is allegiance to a state"
SO we agree than that George Washington and most American immigrants were NOT colonizers because they stated in very clear language that they were NOT citizens of Great Britian.

The English settlers in the Americas were colonies of England from 1607 and the Charter of Virginia to 1776 and the Declaration of Independence. After that, they were recognized as independent states in 1783 with the Treaty of Paris. Regardless, they were never the "colonized," as claimed above.

Perhaps this will help. The people who first came to the New World did not owe political allegiance to the people they left behind. They were colonists in the second sense, but not in the first sense (under discussion). https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/colony "Target CEO 'Sell-Out'"
I don't understand why the Dems jumped on this bizarre pedophile bandwagon. I think they always intended to use it as a divisive issue and still think it can work but it has put them in a weird and bizarre place. Imagine that half the people in the world are women and the Democrats have just come down solidly against them and now their attempt to lie their way out of this by insisting that men are women. 100% of those sick men who think that they are women are mentally ill and are being ill served buy those who want to appease this mental illness. Treat them!!! Commit them to mental health treatment but stop turning them lose to harm children and society. I also blame psychiatry and doctors too who lack the guts to be honest about this. I do understand it takes a lot of guts to stand up to this "Pied Piper Phenomenon" but that is what they should do. These people are mentally ill and need treatment not acceptance of their bizarre beliefs. The brewing industry and other industries, along with the disappointed "Targeted" Newsom may as well get used to being avoided. No hard feelings but I don't intend to do business with or support the Marxist mentality of the degenerate class. You just don't exist in shopping habits.
GAMA SOSA: Merrick Garland Is Slowly Defining A New Criminal Class, And Soon You’ll Be Part Of It
QUOTE: To enforce this new hierarchy, Garland and his allies have created a new category of criminal straight out of the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917: the “political criminal.” Soviet dissident Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn wrote in Gulag Archipelago (pg. 505 if you’re interested) that in the early days of the USSR, thieves and murderers were often treated with kid gloves. They could be rehabilitated, the party line went, and they were often allowed to commit crime if they targeted the right people. Not so for anyone considered a “political criminal,” either directly or by association. Those people eventually ended up in the GULAG. Now this might seem unsurprising, until you realize that the crime of opposing the state could be something as simple as having more money than your neighbor, belonging to the wrong ethnic group, being Christian or simply existing. Such people were referred to as “terrorists.” Sound familiar when Joe Biden and the media constantly harping about “white supremacist, ultra-MAGA terrorism?” That label should terrify you. We’ve seen how we deal with terrorism abroad. We lock them up, don’t give them any due process, or just kill them. That is what Biden and co. are implying they want for you, the political terrorist. https://dailycaller.com/2023/05/26/gama-sosa-merrick-garland-new-criminal-class-youll-be-part-of-it/ The old Soviet Union CP and the new American Democratic party
share the same ideals. They only differ in the language they speak. At least the Russians figured out that marxism doesn't work for long. The Democrats haven't figured it out yet even with the deficits we run and the blue city crime rates. Remember how Obama billed Garland as a moderate?
As much as I dislike Mitch McConnell, he did save us from having that piece of excrement on the S. Court. The useful work he did was only on pushing Trump judges through the Senate. Otherwise he is pretty much a grifter just like Pelosi and a host of others in the Senate.
It seems the Biden admin, CIA, State dept, and the military are in the middle of another one of their generated coups in South America in order to mine the spice ... I mean, lithium.
Now American troops are going into Peru. What in the hell? https://daily.whatfinger.com/now-american-troops-are-going-into-peru-what-in-the-hell/ May 27,2023 The clownworld ride never ends A stupid question for anyone who has booked and taken a cruise. I've been looking at cruise options and it is obvious that something is being kept secret from me. Let me explain. I find a cruise I think I might like and the cost is let's say$700. So I look a little deeper and they are offering $900 in free stuff if I book it. I'm not familiar with cruises but something smells fishy. So what am I missing and why can't I simply get an honest deal?
They're giving you the 'retail' price for things that cost them far, far less money to provide. The 'retail' price has probably been jacked up to the limit, for appealing to your sense of getting something of value for nothing. If it's something like a food or drink package, then it's predicated on a vastly higher consumption than a normal person would enjoy, for instance. Trust me: You're not getting anything for free. Make sure you understand the actual cost from door - to -door, return.
I kind of assumed all that but my confusion is that I am worried about hidden costs. They state that meals are included and I don't drink or party or buy knick knacks so I assumed I would just ignore the free stuff offer but it still looks like a red flag to me. Kind of like getting a hotel room for $99 a night and when you go to check out they tell you their is a $100 resort fee. Well I learned that the hard way so now I know to ask about that. But I don't want to learn the hard way on a cruise package. What am I missing or am I over thinking all this.
I have a question I insist on being answered whenever I see persecuted white people like this: who did you vote for.
If they are libs, well then, I hope they get double the fun. I have zero sympathy. Zero. If they are not I feel for them. Their only recourse is to get out and get away from any and all minorities. " Sad, but fact. There is this belief that the reason these various corporations are using perverts in their advertising is because they are simply trying to reach out to an identity group as customers. That is simply foolishness. They are motivated by a political and social dislike/hate of those on the right, those who are religious and those with traditional lifestyles. They do these various things, ads, events, contributing to the pervert causes, to piss you off. It isn't any different than those who have said the thing they like most about Trump is that he tells it like it is and that pisses off the left. The difference is they use perversion and Trump used truth.
Should Bud use a pervert to advertise their products? I can't imagine any honest answer from anyone who knows anything about business would say it is a good idea. In fact what any business should do in their advertising and public/social existence is make no waves at all. Don't piss off or pander to any group or political agenda. Why would you do this? Well, you would do it because you are an activist in a position of power and you want to advance one group over another AND screw over the group you hate in the process and market share be damned. BUT, then you have to do the "who me?" act to keep your job, save your company, not appear to be the hateful fool that you are, etc. Tried and tested method (Lenin may have been the first) is to turn it around and accuse the opposition of doing what you just did. You know "you must be a hater if you don't like us force feeding you this perversion. What a bigot, racist, terrorist, white supremacist, etc". And this makes your side of the political spectrum love you even more as you spew your lies and perversion. And you accuse those who are gagging from being force fed you crap of "boycotting" your innocent company and it will put innocent people out of work and woe is me... And CNN and the rest of the fake media lap it up and repeat your BS. The country becomes even more divided and you and the rest of the left have succeeded. This was always the goal. I hope that Citibike Karen is punished to the full extent of the law. One of the most vicious forms of racism has been pregnant white women picking on innocent groups of black men to steal bikes from them. It's time someone stood up to them!
Geez. Who would believe that narrative? |
