But they don't have all our money yet so I assume it will continue until they do. This is of course what it was always all about. I'll make a simple prediction that it will continue and get worse until it is so blatant that someone finally declares that the emperor has no clothes and then the masses will all finally see the truth. But the big grifters will simply slink away with their billions and we will never get back what they took from us.
OneGuy: I am shocked to discover that the climate change fraud is corrupt.
Anthropogenic global warming is strongly supported. A number of independent lines of scientific evidence indicate that the Earth's surface will warm ~2½-4°C per doubling of atmospheric CO2. See Sherwood et al., An Assessment of Earth's Climate Sensitivity Using Multiple Lines of Evidence, Reviews of Geophysics 2020. Exactly!! That's exactly how it's done. And if the Kulaks stop being afraid then double down and take away more of their rights . Spread fear and chaos and ask for more money to fix the problem. Use your corporate jet to take the money to Switzerland where it will be safe once the Kulaks wake up to what is going on. Buy a few more "scientists". Buy a few more media outlets. The grift goes on.
OneGuy: Exactly!! That's exactly how it's done.
If you mean science based on empirical evidence, then yes. Its a government funded narrative to justify more elitists scamming the taxpayer. If the narrative funding ends then the narrative ends. The only empirical evidence is the fraud perpetrated by the hockey stick and the east Anglia email scandal.

Here is a study on the polar ice melt that rebuts the other studies by ice melt experts. And it is always about where they start the data.

They have created a climate model, and it appears, one that omits considerable data. The Milankovitch cycle is a better model and incorporates long term cyclical climate changes.
Humans have been adapting to climate for thousands of years and through ice ages and rapidly rising ocean levels. If modern humans cannot adapt to climate change cycles of the type we face, it is probably better that the non-adapters get left behind. It is always about the grant money, or about the money laundering, or the government contract, or a good book deal. But in the end it is the MONEY. A recent WSJ/NORC poll march 2023 vs a WSJ/NBC phone poll of 25 years ago gave the following changes in what is important. Patriotism was 70% but now38% important, Religion was 62% but now39% important, having children was 59% but is now 30% important. But guess where the importance of MONEY went? It was 31% but is now 43% important. Follow the money is the best source for finding the fraudsters who's only guide in life is MONEY.

The study compares three independent lines of evidence to constrain estimates of climate sensitivity. indyjonesouthere: The Milankovitch cycle is a better model and incorporates long term cyclical climate changes. Milankovitch cycles predict a slight cooling trend, not the warming trend that is observed. indyjonesouthere: Humans have been adapting to climate for thousands of years and through ice ages and rapidly rising ocean levels. Most of that time didn’t involve megacities. But humans are very adaptive. Their greatest gift is being able to project into the future, especially with modern science. We've seen the AGW science, the Covid science, and the Tranny/gay science and the science is more than just wanting. If Obama, Gore, and a host of other AGW believers actually believed the science they would not have mansions on the beach. Thats what common sense shows. But I'm sure the "science" will be funded by true believers for the true believers even as their predictions are no more accurate than that of Thomas Malthus.

Science does not show what is true. It is reality that determines whether the science is true. The reality, which is of a small rise in temperature over centuries from a known decline in temperature associated with the pre-industrial era, does not confirm the truth of the models which predict more warming.
All outcomes are a trade-off, but the future of all life on the planet would be best served by a moderate rise in temperatures. Of course, there will be bad consequences for some, but isn't the leftist refrain that of the greatest good for the greatest number?

Gee! What will those climate scientists come up with next?! DeGaulle: does not confirm the truth of the models which predict more warming. The evidence for anthropogenic warming includes the basic physics of heat, which have been known for over a century. The current warming trend is anomalous for any time in the last 24,000 years. See Osman et al., Globally resolved surface temperatures since the Last Glacial Maximum, Nature 2021.

That seemingly defines science as distinct from reality. Science is the process of testing hypotheses against observations. Nor does pointing out that scientific findings are always considered tentative act as an argument against any specific scientific finding. That requires more than waving at "Tranny/gay science" or "Jüdische Physik," but actually looking at the data.

You normalize perversions and yet try to justify that normalization as "science". Those unfortunate souls are mentally ill and you want mental illness considered "normal". It isn't and never will be. They are just another branch of street people. They can't cope with the real world and are even encouraged by dem/progs to get into our face. They're sick, treat them as such.
And what will those climate scientists come up with next ... likely another grant if they turn out the proper findings.

“The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be.” -- Douglas Adams
indyjonesouthere: Never trust the science. Well, that's just silly. That vast majority of improvements in the human condition are due to science. (You will note that Vox's quotes concern medical science. And yet, while there is no cure for cancer, survival rates have improved considerably.) Humans are subject to all sorts of biases, personal and intrinsic. They struggle for recognition. They stubbornly hold on to positions that have been shown to be inconsistent with the evidence. But the advance of science doesn't depend on the perfection of the individual scientist or of the society within which they work. Science advances by consistently comparing hypothesis with observation and by the creativity of people in the scientific pursuit.

The vast majority of improvements to human life are due to engineers. You may recollect that Russian scientists developed all the theory that led to the development of stealth aircraft. Yet, neither Russian science or engineering would grasp its significance. It took an American engineer to turn the science into a product.
The product scientists for AGW are producing nothing and have produced nothing for decades. They have no data that is convertible into anything except more need for grant money.

You can’t trust engineering without trusting the science that underlies engineering, because engineering is the practical application of science. And a lot of science may not have practical applications, but that doesn’t make it any less true. The Earth moves regardless. Your admonition to “Never trust the science” is misplaced.

indyjonesouthere: Your admonition of trust the science is suicidal.
Except we never said to always trust the science. All scientific findings are considered tentative, not proven like a mathematical theorem. Indeed, as George E. P. Box noted, all models are wrong. But there is a relativity of wrong. Scientific confidence depends not just on observational tests of specific hypotheses, but the intertwining of different areas of research. So, evolutionary science and geological sciences inform and support each others findings, just as satellite observations and ground based observations provide independent measures of the warming trend of the Earth's surface. Ultimately, all scientific fields overlap with one another. Newer science, however, will tend to have less support, especially when they push the frontiers of observational science. Consequently, it is reasonable to be more skeptical of newer findings, especially if they contradict long established findings. However, skepticism is not the same as rejection. What that means for our discussion is that you may claim that a particular scientific findings is wrong, but to support that claim takes more than just saying, "Never trust the science." It requires grappling with the details of the specific area of research. -- Asimov, Relativity of Wrong: "when people thought the Earth was flat, they were wrong. When people thought the Earth was spherical, they were wrong. But if you think that thinking the Earth is spherical is just as wrong as thinking the Earth is flat, then your view is wronger than both of them put together."

Suicide should be stigmatized. There are very good reasons that it's considered a sin and a taboo. It's a violent act against the people who love you, even if you don't see it that way or intend for it to be. We should always discourage it as a society.
I agree. However I would make an exception for a certain troll that haunts the comment section on this site. :)
Things are coming together. Seemingly unrelated things that by themselves don't mean much but in context are very bad. Our incompetent government is allowing unfettered access to our country and a lot of Chinese and Isis are coming in. We have used up our emergency supply of crude oil and cut back on production within our country. We have given most of our stock of ammunition and defensive missiles to Ukraine and military experts are now saying that if we went to war we would run out of those critical items within 24 hours. China is clearly positioning themselves to attack Taiwan and they obviously know that we will defend Tiawan if that happens so they are prepared to take out the Pacific fleet. Russia has just moved nukes to Belarus and god knows where else. Can you feel it? A kind of quickening. Things are happening fast now and either our government is indeed incredibly incompetent or traitors are in charge. At this point the odds are even on that question, but it is moot. War is coming. A war that our government has carefully made sure we cannot win. Do you know what happens if the U.S. or Russia or China is in a full scale war and they are losing? Serious question. Well of course they go nuclear. When a nuclear armed country is at war and decides to go nuclear they do not send one or two missiles. They send 4000 nuclear missiles. That! is what is coming. What is your plan?
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face. So I plan on getting punched in the face.
