Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

re Newark, NJ scammed into signing a sister city agreement with a fake country
THAT's a hoot. Too bad that Philip Roth wasn't still alive so he could have included that detail in one of his many novels about Newark, his hometown.
QUOTE: Xi JinPing Assumes Peacemaker Role while US is Absent on World Stage Biden hasn't been absent. He's been actively encouraging Xi to talk to Zelenskyy. “Jaw Jaw is better than War War” -- Winston Churchill
B. Hammer: Why would that be? What’s in for the US? The last century showed that the United States is not isolated from global events. That applies even more in the highly connected twenty-first century. War is Europe is a threat to global stability upon which the United States depends for most of its wealth. Russia continues to be a threat to its neighbors and a source of international turmoil. Ukraine is defending all of Europe from Russian aggression and a threat to the international system based on national sovereignty. More pedantry from the Quibble-DickZ is always helpful.
Some would call it lying. Way to go, little buddy!
Even Kamala Harris couldn't have strung together a more patronizing, platitudinous collection of words than that! It's a little long for a bumper sticker but they charge for those! Xi on US aggression. The US is trying to erase Russian and Chinese spheres of influence. The US will only manage to destroy their own sphere of influence in the process.

It would be correct to say that the EU depends on the buying power of the US consumer more so than the reverse. Our largest export to the EU is natural gas. U.S. natural gas production set a record in 2022, increasing 3.7% from the previous year.

"Biden Fails to Explain How His 'Plan to
Reduce Gun Violence' Will Stop Criminals" It isn't intended to stop criminals. It has two goals; To reduce or eliminate legal gun dealers. To intimidate and punish legal gun owners. It is not the criminals they fear it is you that they fear. Why? Simple, because they intend to do something that they fear Americans would object to so much that they would resort to violence to stop or overturn it. What Biden is doing is identical to what Hitler did in the 1930's and likely for identical reasons. If you haven't seen the news that Biden is bought and paid for by the CCP then you may not fully understand why. Just as the planned inflation, crashing economy and rampart illegal immigration is part of the plan to bring such chaos to us that we will accept anything the government chooses to d in the hope they will make it all go away, and it will. You are literally living in the end times and it is obvious to very few but soon most will see it but sadly too late. I always think of it as a twofer for gun controllers, Anon. They actually do fear those criminals, but they dare not say why. And while some controllers do have the very dark designs of disarming the public in order to have freer reign, most of them just want to kick their main competitors for cultural dominance in the balls for show. You need to be reminded that it's your hunting and target shooting and talking out loud about defending your home that's causing all that crime, you know?
If only America didn't have "a love affair with guns" all the violence would just melt away, dude. ATF Gains Financial Information on Potential Gun Buyers for Warrantless Tracking, Documents Show
QUOTE: The federal government has been using Americans’ income and gun purchases to conduct warrantless tracking and deny Second Amendment rights. Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) gave salary estimates to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as the reason to have people’s firearms purchases monitored. . . . According to the documents, a man in Arizona was put into the NICS’s daily monitoring because he has a “reported income” of only $2,839. The ATF agent wrote, “In my experience, someone with this amount of income would not be able to afford 20 firearms.” An Asian man in Texas was put on the manual background check because the ATF said he has “no work history” which “could possibly indicate” that he is “straw purchasing.” A special agent in Kansas emailed ATF’s liaison at the NICS to flag two purchasers for “potential trafficking.” The agent wrote: “My targets are purchasing an abundance of firearms without a license or known financial means to obtain the product.” . . . ATF headquarters will not disclose how it acquired the other suspects’ incomes, employment information, and past gun purchases found in the FOIA forms. https://www.theepochtimes.com/atf-gains-financial-information-on-potential-gun-buyers-for-warrantless-tracking-documents-show_5119085.html?utm_source=News&src_src=News&utm_campaign=breaking-2023-03-14-3&src_cmp=breaking-2023-03-14-3&utm_medium=email&est=KsJz4WgCrb8pwp6ST4FnND4E8QJPmAx9kFRjXBHQe%2BJ6r7LE3Pyskf%2BsDcOv The DEI scam is simply a way to provide good-paying jobs to people with college degrees that would otherwise render them unfit to work as Starbucks baristas. Once a corporation hires one of these bedbugs, they invite in all their buddies and your corporation is as good as dead.

' The Biden administration is now planning on going after your washing machines. They are going to make them use less water and perhaps a few other tweaks. Remember when they fixed our toilets to make them use less water but now you have to flush them twice? Some experts are predicting that under the new bureaucratic rules for washing machines you will probably have to was your clothes twice now.
When you can see how a bureaucracy can fukk up a gas can it is all you need to know about bureaucracy. Fire them until we are back to 1850 employment levels in the government.
They just feel an overwhelming need to 'do something' - and it doesn't matter if it makes sense or not. It's about justifying their existence by using their power.
Kind of like how they keep making cars 'safer' by creating tests which are more and more unlikely scenarios, but the auto makers have to compensate to get good safety ratings. Windows get smaller, doors get thicker, styling becomes secondary to aerodynamics and safety. You could argue that the cars of the 2000s were significantly safer than those of the '60s or '80s - but I don't think that there's a significant difference in safety between the 2000s and now. If anything, with the smaller windows things might be less so due to restricted visibility. And next year they'll figure out how to make things even 'safer' - whether it's needed or not. There's never a point for a bureaucracy where it can be 'safe enough'. As long as a bureaucrat has the authority to 'improve' washers and dryers, or toilets, or cars, gas stoves or gas cans - they'll do it, whether the results are usable or not. Because it's not about using their powers for good - it's about using their power lest someone notice they're unnecessary. Cultural Marxist woke incorporated is too big to fail so don't scratch your head when they do moves that alienate half of potential customers.
They can go directly to the printing press if need be and the Woke Mind Virus was introduced to hasten the collapse that an entire snowflake generation was raised for. It came from the Long March to burn down Western Civilization Frankfurt School and Herbert Marcuse. San Francisco doesn't want a lack of money to prevent the city from doing the right thing about reparations. My son said it better "The lack of a Time Machine should not stop the city from moving forward with its plan for killing Baby Hitler."
