We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Men are creatures, also, but created in God's likeness.
That 1% difference is much more than it seems on the surface. Most creatures share a lot of DNA, just as we share molecules, protons and electrons and so on. We share most of our DNA with a banana, if I remember correctly, but a gorilla is not 99% human any more than a banana is 70% so.
I always enjoy a Jordan Petersen video, but especially his thoughtful interviews. He pops in with his own ideas from time to time, but he listens carefully and allows his guest to speak fully.
1% is a stupid and arbitrary metric. The 1% thing could really be expounded upon and applied to the various species labeled "people". But no one has the balls to to say the truth about it.
Because science is political now. Maybe it always has been.
