Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

What did Merrick Garland know and when did he know it. It's time for him to step down and a grand jury empaneled to look into the DOJ's part of this cover up. Biden should be impeached. It's time to at least inform the public of what these documents pertained to. If Biden gave away classified information we need to know what was compromised. If on the other hand the documents expose a crime that Biden committed while serving as vice president we need to know that too. He cannot remain as president with these serious crimes unanswered.
So, if they were to impeach Biden could he use the fact that he wasn't actually "elected" as a defense? I mean impeachment is a process to remove an elected official and if you stole the election and aren't really the president can you be impeached? Asking for a friend.
It’s very disheartening to find that the country i once loved, has become a banana republic. With no end insight to the downward spiral.
The cover-up gets worse. Now they are trying to hide this from congress.
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/politics/national-archives-comer-doj-sign-off-biden-document-cooperation If they get away with this ploy we won't know anything more about this mess until after the 2024 election. This is McCarthy's first test. If he doesn't play hardball the Dems/communists will have neutered him. San Fran City Panel Urges Reparations Of $5 Million Per Black Adult
8 of the 9 panelists are black. Why $5 million? Why not $20 million? Why not simply confiscate the homes and bank accounts of white Californians and give it to the blacks? Why not attach the future earnings of white people and give it to the blacks. Hell the government takes 50% that means they still have 50% to give to blacks. After all if we are going to go full KKK on whites why just nibble around the edges. Lets send out BLM to burn some white folks homes and hang the owners from lamp posts.
No local politician will win office by supporting 10% of this as a reparations. So what is going on? San Francisco has very few blacks, even counting the ones that moved to the East Bay, but still vote in San Francisco, so what is going on?
I think it is a ploy. It works like this: The Democrats propose something really stupid and probably unconstitutional BUT rewards a favored group. Cooler heads (conservatives) point out that it is stupid and likely unconstitutional and "just like that" the favored group feels mistreated by Republicans and their Democrat friends can say "we tried but those racists don't like you". And without any cost to them the Democrats rope in their supporters and turn them away from Republicans. A classic Socialist ploy.
Given the change in the subject matter of the governing styles in Democrat-run cities, I'm surprised that we aren't seeing more remakes of Dirty Harry. Talk about society providing the best plot devices......
The tomato sauce period thing...
It's hard to leave someone like me speechless, but here we are. This goes back to my point a few days ago that LBGQT is a mental disorder. I'm beginning to think that denying it is a mental disorder is also a mental disorder.

The American Centers for Disease Control pledge a million dollars for the development of "a public health tool to predict the virality of vaccine misinformation narratives" Having failed to eradicate a virus, the public health agency will now try to eradicate viral ideals. We need to know who the attendees of the WEF are. Is there any place that lists all the names of WEF participants and audience. We need to make sure that these people do not get voted into office or hired by governments. This is a civil rights and security issue.
In related news did you know that the elites who fly to Davos in private jets insist on pilots and crew not having had the vax? Why do you suppose they don't want THEIR pilots to have been injected with the Covid died suddenly vaccine? https://stevekirsch.substack.com/p/the-faa-has-very-quietly-tacitly?utm_source=post-email-title&publication_id=548354&post_id=97001835&isFreemail=true&utm_medium=email
Just saying. Why not just sit the FAA officials down and start asking questions. And every time they refuse to answer, or start to obfuscate or deflect, why just given them another COVID booster shot. And ask the question again.
As a Syracuse graduate, and a frequent letter writer to organizations I experience good and/or bad things with, I have already sent many letters to the Chancellor Syracuse, who I've met several times and I'm sure he rolls his eyes when he hears my name now.
He's basically a mental gimp. He gives in to the weakest of arguments that have any "social awareness" at all, and ignores facts and reality around him. He's utterly convinced of his own specialness in bring Syracuse students to some kind of "promised land" of academia, even as he erodes the very best that Syracuse has (or had) to offer. My own years at Syracuse were informed by membership in a fraternity. For the 38 years since, I have maintained those contacts - and they are strong. I have even reacquainted with several members who you might say I had "differences" with back in the day. We've grown up a bit... As for Syracuse, I still enjoy going back for basketball and football games. But as I told the chancellor recently - they have stopped receiving donations from me, and my visits will become more infrequent until this nonsense stops. His attacks on the sorority and fraternity system lack merit. His attacks on (or simply ignorance of) anyone who does not share his views are misguided. He feels there is only one way to approach academia - and the results speak for themselves. I haven't hired an SU grad in over 10 years. Frankly, the graduates are nitwits. I was told by my father that you go to college to get an education and grad school to get a job. I still believe that is true. I was also told you get from college what you put into it - and that isn't as true anymore. Because there are too many things you can't put into it without being hauled up on some kind of charges. I can recount the 3 occasions my friends or I appeared before the student courts for engaging in pranks on people and the university. Each one was unique. Each was funny, in its own way. None were damaging, nobody ever got hurt. At least one made the front page of the student newspaper "The Daily Orange" (mainly because we knew the editor and gave him a heads-up prior to our activities, so there was a photographer at the ready). Today, I'd be expelled for the least damaging of these - using an emergency escape to leave class. The window was open, it was a beautiful fall day, I didn't want to walk down 3 flights of marble stairs, I wanted to GET OUT and have fun after an hour and a half of Literature. As luck would have it a monitor was waiting for me as I reached the ground, collared me, and dragged me to the student court. Luckily, several other (far more serious) events occurred that day. I was small potatoes, but still got a slap on the wrist. It was not the only time I did this - it was the only time I was caught. There was a famous fire escape there that, after a night of drinking, most people would take a crack at, as it was a slide. I did that several times. Today, we're far to "socially aware" to do other things, like have a kissing booth at a Dance Marathon (at one time the largest in the nation), or have a Valentine's Day Run (in which a fraternity member would run around the Quad and kiss girls while wearing an outrageous Valentine's Day outfit). And we're too litigious to let kids go down fire escapes. I know, because my son attended and the stories I heard of people bounced for no particularly good reason were many. Syracuse is not interesting to me as a university anymore. I am not even sure you can learn anything there - or at most universities. When I went to Syracuse streaking was the rage, good fun. Too bad, college was a great place to get your ya-ya's out before you had to become a "real" person. Now all they do is train emotional cripples ( not politically correct but every one knows what it means).
At the end of each semester in Sophomore and Junior year (well only first half of Junior year as I was abroad the second half), my roommate and I would streak around Walnut Park at about 10pm.
For no other reason than it was something to do and get a laugh. I'm sure we'd be tossed for it today. One wonders if you would have to register as a sex offender today?
I graduated from college about forty years ago. And I find that there are an INCREDIBLE number of people who:
1) Were VERY bitter when they were an undergraduate because they were not asked to pledge a fraternity or sorority. 2) Carry that bitterness around for YEARS, DECADES after they graduate. I was not in a sorority in college. But maybe I had enough friends who were in the greek system that I saw the advantages and the disadvantages of it. But I honestly didn't care back then. It was not something I was interested in at the time. And I have never ever been bitter about it. But it truly floors me how NASTY people get about the greek system. I mean REALLY MEAN AND NASTY. I gotta figure they need some mental counseling to be that mean and bitter. (In hindsight, I do wish it had been something I had pursued.) I've heard stories like this...and I laugh.
I really laugh. The nasty people were the non-Greeks. I had to put up with so much "discrimination" from non-Greeks because "you're just a fraternity boy." Yes, fraternities and sororities choose members. But if you don't get in, you can keep trying each semester and if the one you want doesn't want you - there's one for you somewhere. I didn't even want to join one. I was going for free beer during Rush. But I met a group of guys who I liked. For some reason that is beyond my comprehension, they liked me. So they asked me to join. I turned them down. The next day, I went back and took them up on it. Why not? Best decision I ever made. I have plenty of GDI friends (God Damn Independents) because we let them come to our parties as long as they were friends of members. We didn't care if people were independent - in fact, independents tended to be far more discriminatory than we were. I can't tell you how many refused to do study halls at the fraternity because "we don't need crazy frat distraction". Except, we had really quiet and good study rooms. And there wasn't always a party going on (not really - there was always one in SOMEBODY'S room...but not at the house in general). Point is, I used to tell my brother (a GDI) that he was in a fraternity. He spent his four years living with the same 6 people, they just kept changing dorm rooms. They would go out together, they traveled together, I even spent a summer with all of them - and they spent the summer making fun of my fraternity...even though they were a fraternity of their own. I find criticism of the Greek System to be based on misinformation and misguided beliefs about what it's all about. Some fraternities and sororities fit the stereotype and deserve criticism. Mine? We were the #1 academic fraternity every year I was there. We were the #1 sports fraternity every year I was there. We were the #1 philanthropic fraternity every year I was there. We weren't just about ourselves. We gave back. We started the Dance Marathon for Muscular Dystrophy and turned it over to the University - which wound up ruining it. For the four years I was there, it was the largest philanthropic Dance Marathon on campus in the US. People criticize fraternities because they are easy to criticize. I pointed out to my chancellor, who is trying to kill fraternities to end underage drinking and hazing, that even if he succeeds underage drinking will continue and hazing will get worse because the fraternities will go underground and avoid all university oversight. In fact, many hazing incidents have occurred already among "ghost" fraternities - those that have gone underground. The deaths and injuries are rarely at university-sanctioned fraternities. They are at the underground ones. Let's not forget marching band - which has its own share of hazing and drinking. I have heard stories from young people who never joined a Greek system, but joined Marching Band. Those people are CRAZY. Way more nuts than we ever were. Groups are self-selective. People who have a problem with it all need to get over themselves. Exactly!
My understanding school instituted a "zero tolerance" policy in more recent years. And it's mostly affected fraternities and sororities. And I'm sure it's NOT because they're the only college students who do stupid things -- they're the easiest ones to catch doing stupid things. But ithe "zero policy" cheerleading also seems to have someone at the helm who wasn't in a Greek house during their undergrad days. College kids do stupid stuff all the time. Should they? No. Hazing is not a good idea because it can easily get out of hand. Are fraternity and sorority members the only one who do stupid things. Actually, they seem to be a little less likely to. There's usually upper classmen to rein in foolishness. Dorm dwellers tend to cluster by age. And there's nothing dumber than a gaggle of freshmen. Do only Greeks Haze? Not hardly. The other hazing just didn't get caught. (I did this on my phone so if there's weird things in the text, it's because I can barely see it exacerbated by pesticide test. I mean practice test. I mean predictive text.) The primary purpose of diversity training is to provide lucrative careers for the parasite class with otherwise useless degrees. Why would you pay someone to throw sand into the gears of commerce? Madness.

A good platform for a presidential candidate in 2024. The View’s Joy Behar disparages 'heterosexual men' and 'conservatives” for supporting the NFL
She's going to incentivize me to subscribe to some service that carries NFL games just to be contrary. I'm a heterosexual, conservative male and the NFL can go eat a BoD. Haven't watched since they started that kneeling crap and never will again.
Once again, Joy Behar is talking out of her backside. Obvious prediction: Half the country to now identify as black San Franciscans.
