Cardiac arrest

People have been asking me about Damar Hamlin. Cardiac arrest or, sometimes termed "Sudden Cardiac Arrest", occurs at all ages. It is only newsworthy when it occurs in young, otherwise healthy athletes. Still, it happens enough that many states have rules about medical check-ups for athletes. I suspect that it occurs more often than reported.


Sudden Cardiac Arrest is usually associated with a heart arrhythmia called ventricular fibrillation. The heart stops. These have a long list of possible underlying causes, but it seems possible, if rare, that even a blow to the chest can set it off. The risks are that you die, or survive with brain damage. First aid is CPR (all of our readers should know how to do that), then shock from a defibrillator. The brain begins to die after a handful of minutes without a functional heartbeat.


In youth, arrest is hardly ever related to a "heart attack," which refers to a Myocardial Infarction.

Tucker did a pretty good job covering this tonight. The statistics are damning. That is this type of death in young athletes has increased `100 times for people who have taken the Covid shot. Statistically the odds are 100 to 1 that this was the result of a covid shot side effect. Young people, especially young men are dying by the thousands, the tens of thousands from the covid shot. Many experts, doctors and scientists, are saying this will continue into the future and that the effects of the covid shot don't dissipate but they continue to pose a threat of sudden death. Mean while the media and the government are doubling their efforts to hide this problem. Why would they unless they knew it was true?

NOPE!!!

The odds are more like 1,000,000,000 to 1 that this was in any way related to the COVID vaccine. The touted side effect of the vaccine in young people, myocarditis, affects the cardiac muscle as opposed to the electrical conducting system and is manifested differently.

Further, young people are NOT dying by the tens of thousands due to covid shot.

I was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy when I was about 40, thanks to my extremely alert primary care doc. I was fitted with an implantable defibrillator in early 2020, just before the hospitals stopped doing elective surgery due to Covid. My heart went into v-fib 4 times between May and September 2021. Luckily, the defibrillator did its job.

My early adult career was as an infantry officer, with all the physical hardships associated therewith. I often wonder if my heart would have given out sooner if I’d stayed in the Army and continued to push my physical limits.

When I heard about young Mr. Hamlin, I wondered if he might not have the same heart defect. I hope and pray that he makes a full and speedy recovery.

That's a FAR more likely explanation than the COVID vaccine.

Looking at the hit involved, the rare condition - commotion cordis - could also explain the event. That something rarely occurs does not mean it never occurs.

All of these numbers are sort of interesting, but like Climate Science and like the food processing plants going up in flames, they mean very little when they are presented without the context of the longer range picture of similar occurrences. The long range picture proves or disproves the trend without room for equivocation. Without the long range picture, I immediately suspect a narrative or story line designed to build a dumpster fire in my head - because unfortunately that's the way the modern world works. Athletes have been dropping on the field of play since the idea of sports began. It seems like there might be more, and for certain there is more coverage of these circumstances when they happen. Roll out the pre-COVID numbers and let's all take a look at trends! Otherwise: No Sale (And I'm not a mandate proponent, quite the oppposite).

The pre-covid numbers for sudden cardiac incidents among athletes have just been released in a new study by Dr Peter McCullough and another author. McCullough was interviewed about it last night on Tucker. Incidents involving sudden cardiac arrest in athletes over the past 50 years before 2021 averaged about 29/year. Since the shot was introduced in 2021, more than 1600 such incidents in athletes have occurred, about 2/3 of them fatal. Most of these deaths were soccer players in foreign leagues - - there are a lot of them.

McCullough is biased.

Hamlin's cardiac arrest is quite dissimilar from most if not all of the cited incidences in that it involved a direct hit to the precordial area immediately followed by cardiac arrest.

You are 100% correct. I watched that video and it is apparent that this had nothing to do with the Vax shot and anyone who says it did should be put in jail. Even though this was the easiest tackle with virtually no hit to the body clearly this had nothing to do with the Vax shot. Right! It's fine! Just keep telling yourself that and close your eyes and hum so you don't have to hear the contradictory facts. It's fine! This is normal! Thousands of young athletes dying on the fields right on TV. Hamlin was not "forcibly" injected with the vaccine and he was not "forced" to get vaccinated. He was given a choice and he voluntarily chose to get vaccinated. PERIOD.

He did so either because he decided that the vaccine posed less of a risk than getting COVID or because making LOTS of money playing pro ball was preferable to the alternative...or some combination thereof.

The truth about cardiac complications related to COVID and the COVID vaccine is that for the population at large, the risk of a cardiac complication from the vaccine is LESS than he risk of a cardiac complication from COVID.

In my further readings of the matter it turns out there are TWO Bills members who haven't been vaxxed. I can't recall their names presently. So this team was not forced to do it. So that meme I quoted won't help anyone because the vaccine manufacturers are exempt from lawsuits. If you sign up for the poison you'll "live" or die by the poison.

athletes died from cardiac arrest.
Over a prior 38 years (1966-2004),
1101 athletes under the age of 35
died due to various heart conditions.
The same number of athletes died in
the last TWO years as compared to

So?

The study included a number of people who are not currently athletes, e.g. it included athletes who retired long ago. It also included some coaches who haven't played in decades.

What are the heart conditions? The study included myocardial infarctions from coronary artery disease - something that took decades to develop and was present in these folks before covid was even a thing.

There's also the issue of MORE people playing sports, better reporting of cause of death, PED use which 100% causes cardiac problems, increased recreational drug use in athletes, COVD itself could have caused many of these deaths, more violent collisions in sports, etc.

I am not for or against the vaccine. I am against knee jerk reactions that equate correlation (or assumed correlation) with causation.

I recall some years ago there was a series of incidents with baseball\softball players getting hit in the chest area and having some kind of cardiac event and sometimes dying.

The solution was a small chest protector.
