Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

‘amnesty’ makes illegal immigration ‘worse’
Yes! That's the point. The globalist and elite do not like America and the power it holds and they really hate the middle class. This part of their plan to destroy it. We have a crisis of illegal immigration. It undermines our sovereignty, our security, our finances, our schools, our understanding of and respect for citizenship, our commitment to law and law enforcement. Those who support it mean to break down our inbred loyalties and natural commitments. They do not have our best interests at heart.
We have had at least two previous amnesties and after each one came a promise to reform immigration to prevent further illegal immigration problems. Neither promise was kept. It should be obvious to anyone that there should be NO additional amnesties. End immigration for at least 20 years to get control of the borders.
Re: Finally, The Gibson’s Bakery Family Has Been Paid By Oberlin College
Finally indeed! If only Oberlin would be bankrupted from the ordeal. Not too sure about that Putin's troops dying in Ukraine article. I've been watching Col. McGregor to hear a more impartial or perhaps Russian sided view of the war.
How much ruin in a nation(United States), we're finding out. Thanks BD and others for all you do on this site. Re: Thanks Bird Dog
That is really a nice gesture. I very much appreciate this site. I’ve been coming here since at least 2009. That is a lot of linked articles. I really don’t understand the motivation for doing that, but I am very grateful. I have very much enjoyed the many comments, commenters on this site. The Ukraine story is of a piece with the corporate media narrative that Russia is losing, running out of weaponry, Ukraine will take back all of eastern Ukraine and Crimea if only the US keeps sending weapons, etc. Is this being linked just for reader laughs?
Russia has over a half million troops readying for a winter offensive. When that begins, Ukraine will evsn more rapidly devolve to the husk that western/nato policies are ensuring. Unfortunately, this war will not fully end until the US decides to stop flooding the country with money and weapons. I notice that when aboriginal-minded progressives decide to 'decolonize' things and criticize Western Society, they tend to use all the best technology available to communicate their rage, as well as enjoying the trappings and modern conveniences to the utmost extent, somehow without becoming ruffled. How come they're not pursuing all these 'different ways of knowing' to 'revitalize indigenous knowledge' by living the experience large, like from a tepee or a smoke lodge? Say - This wouldn't have anything to do with cynical self-aggrandizement, would it?
The latest installment of the Twitter Files is by Bari Weiss and it came out on the Free Press this morning:
https://www.thefp.com/p/why-we-went-to-twitter?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email Third graders struggling the most to recover in reading after the pandemic The author lumped all states together and the results vary a LOT by state. Florida, for example, only had lockdowns for a short period until they came to their senses. I'm sure their students are doing better than the average. Californians...not so much.
Col. McGregor is no fool but he doesn't really know what will happen in the future anymore than you or I do. It's a guess, a prediction, and if it turns out to be wrong there will be a perfect excuse made as to why it should have been right but something unexpected happened. But what is undeniable is Russia is getting their ass kicked in a battle that should have lasted 3 months. I'm not saying they won't or can't win what I'm saying is that the experts were wrong on this and to somehow think that NOW the experts will be right is not smart.
All of the generals in every army in the world are watching this and suddenly realizing that ground warfare in the age of smart missiles and drones may be a thing of the past. The worst possible place to be in a 21st century war is in a tank or armored vehicle. They may officially change the name of all armored vehicles to crematoriums. Does that mean that Russia will not or can not win? That's not what I'm saying. But when this war started everyone expected Russia to win in three months and have lower losses than Ukraine. But the opposite is true. This war may well be outside the experience of Col. McGregor. If Salt Lake City is facing both dust storms and a water shortage, that's bad news for their solar installations - you need lots of water to keep the dust rinsed off the solar panels.
"Republican members of the House Intelligence Committee are alleging in a newly released report that there are “indications” that COVID-19 could be tied to China’s biological weapons research program and “spilled over” to the general human population during an incident at the Wuhan Institute of Virology."
Another far right conspiracy theory has now become mainstream. The Democrats have opened the can of worms called reparations. It is a bold and hypocritical political move to bring back black voters. This is going to be the game plan of the left for the next 50 years. They intend to punish whites by taxing then into poverty to pay their constituents. I expect this to back fire, that is there isn't enough money or will to actually give reparations to all blacks. But this too will cause irreparable harm by dividing us further along racial lines. But of course that is the goal. Today it is the blacks against Americans, in 20 years it will be all those newly made citizens we see crossing our borders. This is the definition of what sowing the seeds of hate is. And it is by intent.
First reparations don't float; if you want to do racial groups (and I don't) asians and hispanics will block them. Ok maybe there is a long march, long enough to be over my and your scattered ashes. But more likely there is a the short term goal. My guess is that this a cynical attempt to get those who adjust elections to continue to adjust for the sake of those in office, offices in particular locations. Or maybe the chattering classes just have to keep chattering about something. It is still dangerous.
The medical establishment pushing these horrible puberty blockers is more evidence of how corrupt the health care industry has become. From allowing the Sacklers to start a deadly opiate epidemic to the group think tyranny of the lethal MRNA vaccines; the credibility of the medical industry is shattered.
For boys, what the blockers really are, are old cancer treatments. Men with prostate cancer face a grim, long-term fight against a cancer that moves everywhere in the body and gets fresh starts, because the prostate gets so much blood flow. Testosterone is an aggravate - its presence causes prostate cancer to flourish, wherever it is in the body. So some patients get lupron injections, which blocks the production of testosterone, in an effort to slow down the progression. It has a whole host of nasty side effects, all of them weakening, energy-sapping, appetite-depressing, so on. It's not fun to get it.
The thought of giving a drug with so many negative side effects, designed to slow down old man's cancer, to a young kid so that he'll never go through puberty, and almost guarantee he'll feel miserable at the same time, while he's on the road to eventual, permanent sterility. Well - that's just evil, isn't it? The kid's already miserable for psychological reasons. Hard not to see how someone - let's say a concerned, loving parent looking forward to being a grandparent maybe - hard not to see it as being evil, and predatory, when they try to keep parents out of the loop. |
