Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Brits and Americans are losing interest in Christianity at exactly the same rate as "Christian" churches and churchmen, from preacher to pope, are losing interest in Christianity.
I was raised as a Catholic and there are very few similarities between organized Catholicism now and then. The left has enmoled Christianity too and is destroying it. Catholicism today is a minor and ineffective branch of the Communist party The various denominations are causing their numbers to decline. They are pushing anti Christian rhetoric and trying to convince members the new world of thought is acceptable. Well, to many of us it is not. We choose to be Christian in our beliefs but have given up on finding a church that is still Christian.
The leadership, in protestant and catholic churches, is the problem. The progs have infiltrated all the institutions.
"More than anything soccer offends AmeriCans'..."
I you know what offends me more than anything? Somebody writing in an American periodical, and thus presumably to.Americans, and using without irony terms as "equalizer" instead of tying score. Then there are others in American media who say "pitch" and "kit" Need I mention that this flopping Welsh guy Bale has a man bun? What were we thinking when we bailed out these Europeans all the times in the 20th Century. We should have stayed home in 1917 and left them to the Cool Kiss of the Kaiser I'm not a huge sports fan, but I enjoyed playing several growing up. I like baseball and NASCAR, but I understand why people mistake them for boring. I've always thought football was boring to watch, even when I enjoyed playing it as a kid. The NFL is about as boring and uneventful as a sport can get.
I generally think soccer is boring. It's exciting watching my son play it, though. Since my son is interested this time around I've kept an eye on the World Cup and will admit that I've watched a few games with interest. I will watch until USA is eliminated. If the USA ever wins the world cup, I'm afraid that the rest of the world will jointly declare war on us. There are several reasons why Americans aren't interested in soccer, but primarily because we don't like ties. It's better to lose a close game than to end in a tie. Hockey and boxing are sports for a civilized world. Although hockey can end in a tie, there are other aspects that make it acceptable to Americans. I agree that football is hugely boring, but it's only because its over-production as a sport - being chopped into marketable segments to stuff between the commercials - has made it that way. It's almost unbearable to see a game in person, now. I still go to the high-school games though.
Soccer: where to start? It's very nature is socialist and against individual talent. It's men running themselves to exhaustion, up and down the field. At least this activity in basketball is punctuated by frequent, difficult shots and frequent scoring. And hockey is just so exciting because of the almost balletic movements on skates with the skill of stickhandling. Fast enough to be hard to follow. But still, for me, baseball in person is the game to watch. Re: The Netherlands . This is what EU is all about. This is the WEF and the elite and the whole global warming cabal. This isn't about the climate or the weather it is about power and wealth. You will own nothing and be happy. This is how they seize power. They import replacement voters to dilute the patriotic citizens, they divide us into groups and then "buy" the various identities (POC, women, gay) with your tax money and this assures them more voters. And then the productive are pushed out under the guise of saving something or other. The EU may have been formed to improve the lives of Europeans but it was taken over by those who would enslave Europeans. I have one word for the Dutch "fenestration". Sooner rather than later.
If the WEF -led government is so determined to reduce the population, pretty soon somebody is going to get the idea and proceed with the suggestion, only not in the way the WEF had imagined.
Regarding Twitter: Millions upon millions of accounts, and only 62,000 were canceled? Something doesn't ring true, here. I would have thought the number was much higher. How many bot accounts have been shuttered over the past year, I wonder? It will be interesting to finally see these metrics to understand what has been going on with that great-and-powerful 'man behind the curtain'. The most common phrase used in 2022 is "died suddenly".
In other news the number of covid deaths of the vaccinated exceeded the number of covid deaths of the unvaccinated in June of 2022. In sad news Irene Cara "died suddenly" just a few months after tweeting how proud she was of getting her covid shot. Since all players can use either foot, it should be called "Feetball".
I remember the WWII POW escape movie about soccer with Stallone as a lil' shaver...and it's gone.
Zero versus Nil can be boring but some people like defense. Apple banned AirDrop app in China to thwart the protestors. Elon should ban them to be edgy and ahead of the pack. The Netherlands is the number two exporter of food in the world and the modern day one world Nimrods want famine by any means necessary. About Irene Cara that was the first thing I thought, did she get the depopulation shot. Albert Pike said that the major religions would be destroyed in WWIII which ties in with the Mussolini quote about nothing outside of the state. The Democrats have a habit of naming bills/laws the opposite of what they are. For example the inflation reduction act actually increases inflation. These bills are thinly disguised pork and payola bills with a pretty sounding name so that if you oppose it the MSM can make it sound like you oppose reducing inflation or whatever the bill's name implies.
Now we have the respect for marriage act which in fact makes a mockery of marriage and no doubt with sufficient study also spends billions on further destruction of our country. But who cares, right? I was never in favor of gay marriage, still not in favor of gay marriage, but it isn't up to me so who cares if they marry. BUT... I'm gonna bet that buried in this respect bill is penalties if you do not accept, love and embrace gay marriage. I bet this is a can of worms and will be used to sue and harm innocent people who simply aren't on the Sodom and Gomorrah bandwagon. I would also bet that there will be penalties for those who are opposed to the grooming of children by gays too. It's not "buried" somewhere in the legislation, it's just baked in the cake so to speak. When "shall not be infringed" can be twisted to mean the exact opposite, it doesn't matter what the legislation actually says, it's what it can be "interpreted" as meaning. I really hope I'm dead before they decide it means everybody should be forced into gay marriage.
Democrat bill-naming: they think Orwell’s work is a blueprint, not cautionary tale.
Rubio and Roy Challenge the Woke Pentagon
QUOTE: According to the Stars and Stripes, on Nov. 18 Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth confirmed that the Army undershot its annual recruitment goal of 60,000 troops. Only 45,000 young Americans enlisted in the Army.A 25% shortfall . . . Wow! We were being told not long ago that the shortfall was "only" 15,000" https://strategypage.com/on_point/20221123203347.aspx But Hockey is exciting. Kris Letang, a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman, Suffered a stroke recently. Coincidently he was required to get the Covid vax to continue to play hockey. Nothing to see here, move along.
It has been over 5 years since the Route 91 massacre in Las Vegas. But there are no answers and there are discrepancies that make no sense. There is audio of the shooting and a few things are apparent from those audio recordings. First is that more than one gun at a time was being shot. Second is the shooting was consistent with an automatic weapon and NOT consistent with a semi-auto weapon being fired with the assist of a bump stock. Third is the lack of fired shells on the floor of the suite where they would have fallen to if this all happened as the authorities tell us it did.
Something stinks. They lied to us. Some of the many discrepancies cannot be explained based on what we were told. Are to believe that they don't know what happened and made up a story or what? There must have been multiple shooters. They must have used full auto guns. Some or most of the shooting must have taken place somewhere other than the suite. and last it does not look like the acknowledged shooter was alive during the shooting but had been killed prior and left to make it look like he committed suicide. What really happened? Do the authorities even know or are they lying? Why? What is being covered up? One reason "Christians became a minority" is because people are no longer afraid to not say they're Christians on census questionaires. Used to be you were liable to lose your job, your freedom, or even your life if you weren't a card carrying member of the Church of England, and those days aren't too long ago.
As to the Netherlands, there is no "nitrogen minister" in the government. There is a minister in the cabinet who has the "nitrogen issue" on her list of responsibilities, earning her the monnicker, but it's not her actual title. And the 3000 farms slated for mandatory closure and confiscation by the government are just the beginning. The total number will be closer to 20.000, as well as many other companies (including most of the entire construction and transport sectors most likely). French worker not fun. First evaluation by a new managing editor at a newspaper, he said, "You seem to be a 9 to 5 guy. You don't stick around after work." No. After work is, by definition, after work. He fired me a few months later.
