We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I don't know a lot about Scott Adams. Seems like a nice guy. But there are two things I do not understand. Why anyone thinks I want to hear then drone on for 37 minutes, and why anyone wants to listen to someone drone on for 37 minutes. Just a hint to people who produce these videos and audio presentations. Tel me in the first 30 second (that means half a dozen sentences) what you are going to say. Not "shout out to someone or other" or " be sure to click on the like button" or "I just want to take a few minutes to sell you something".
THEN! After you tell me what you are going to discuss stick to the subject. Don't waste my time telling me about your most recent girls/boys night out or your yoga class or what you mother used to serve you for lunch when you were a kid. Just lay out your argument; 1, 2, 3...
Almost everyone who posts these long videos resents being told this. Fine! That's their business but for my part if I don't get some kind of satisfaction from a video in the first 30 seconds I'm out of there AND if when I click on a video if it is more than 5-10 minutes long there is literally zero chance I will watch it. So it's in their own interest to make better videos.
