Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

So Biden is making a campaign speech and every news network is going to give him free airtime? None of them will report it to the FEC as a payment-in-kind political contribution, either.
They have to run against Trump; they've got nothing else. I'm assuming that is why he must be kept front and center by the media.
I can't lie - the fact that the (P)resident will be delivering a speech in which he demonizes half the country disturbs me.
Biden has always been a hateful nasty person and dementia hasn't helped any.
And a liar. His first run for President, he had to drop out of the race because he plagiarized an entire speech. Yet, he has been re-elected to the Senate every time he was up for election.
The Democrat plan goes back to the 60's and Ted Kennedy to flood the country with replacement voters and dilute the middle class and that was going to be their path to power forever. Create constant chaos and make the country ungovernable and it will require stricter and more oppressive laws to control each crisis in an never ending flood of crises. And of course giving more and more free stuff to their voter class while raising taxes to destroy the middle class. This is your future under the Democrats.
As White House Spokeswoman Karina Jean-Pierre said the other day, “…the ‘extreme MAGA agenda’ is a ‘threat to the rule of law.”
His “Soul of the Nation” speech will almost certainly continue to push this narrative. When you are a “threat to the rule of law,” you are beyond the pale and need to be dealt with. They are preparing the battlespace for the persecution, and then prosecution of the Conservative movement in this country. Think that’s conspiracy stuff? Think about where we find ourselves now. Most of these things today are about the hallmarks of the Democratic platform, but the unspoken hallmark, the one that sits unnoticed over all the others, is the willingness to dial up the volume and make the handling of each policy plank more oppositional and extreme at each turn in the road. There is no such thing as forbearance and moderation - as we'll have reinforced again tonight as we listen to Biden's speech.
Governor Abbot's response of transporting the flood of illegal aliens to Blue Cities is a case of putting the medicine where the pain is. I wish he had started it years ago. As for Bunker Hill CC, what a glowing review and tribute. Boutique discrimination programs, shoveling resources to a protected class, yet again. Did it occur to the administrators over-seeing this that maybe, just maybe, they ought to include instruction for understanding the employment market, and learning about internships, summer programs, and on-the-job partnerships as part of the normal curriculum for all students, as many other universities and colleges do? Were there any attempts to reach out to the business world to establish partnerships to further this? And I really like the assumption that all white students come from privileged, middle-upper middle class backgrounds and don't need any stinkin' help. Greater Boston has no shortage of the white working poor. Re Prager.
There is no doubt that men commit most crimes and can be violent. What is missing from this discussion is almost everything we associate with success and our modern life is brought to you by men with that same drive to do things. Look around you and everything, literally everything, was created by men. If you are safe in your city and your home thank a man. If you drive a car use electricity cool your home thank a man. Could these things have been invented without men? Technically, yes but probably not. You need strong (physically and mentally) people, risk takers, hard driving never give in people. Watch TV, Our society goes overboard to try to bring us the appearance of equality. You will see men and women on TV and the producers will scour the earth to find a woman who has done something that usually only men do and they will interview them. Without exception what I remember about every female in this position is they are trying to look pretty and they brush their hair out of their face 10-20 times in the two minute interview. It makes you wonder how many men it takes to support this female being presented as a ground breaker in a man's field. There was an add on TV a few years back where a motorcyclist was riding dangerously but the angle wasn't clear enough to tell the gender of the rider. And then the bike was stopped and the rider took of the helmet to release perfectly coiffured long blond hair and the intent of the ad was to show that women were men's equal. But, yet, the actual rider in the ad was a stuntman not a women, not a stuntwomen but a man. All in an attempt to prove that women could do anything a man can. IMHO A woman is a better 'nurse' than a man nurse. A woman is a better nurturer parent than a man is. But in almost every other endeavor a man is better or in a few cases equal for that particular job. When I was a kid a fireman had to be able to pick up a 200 lb unconscious man off the floor and carry him out a window and down a ladder. Do you actually think a woman, any woman, could do this. Of course not so when it was mandated that women become firemen that requirement was quietly eliminated. Because women cannot do physically difficult jobs. A photo was leaked to the press of documents seized in the Mar A Lago raid. Interesting that the FBI can leak whatever the hell they want to make Trump look bad but can go to court to prevent the truth from coming out and thus the truth must be redacted. Are you getting this yet? The FBI is now a criminal arm of the criminal Democrat party.
IdahoBob: A photo was leaked to the press of documents seized in the Mar A Lago raid.
It wasn't a leak. It was part (Attachment F) of the government's legal response after Trump sued them over the nonsensical grounds of executive privilege. Yeah, Executive Privilege IS nonsensical.
Thanks (((Quibble-DickZ))) for clearing that up. BTW, where did y'all practice constitutional law? It wasn't a leak in fact, though the DOJ clearly has a huge problem with illegal leaks. In practice it had the same intent as a leak--t was clearly designed to prejudice public opinion. It was an utterly unnecessary attachment to the government's response.
Your ideology and prejudices render you incapable of making those kinds of distinctions, and it's tiresome watching you continue to become more and more the thing you want people to think you're not. Are you really that incapable of self reflection? SK: In practice it had the same intent as a leak--t was clearly designed to prejudice public opinion.
The government has the right to respond to Trump's motion. If he hadn't filed the motion, they wouldn't have responded as they did. 1. Trump asserts executive privilege. A claim of executive privilege is an admission that the documents are owned by the government. Willfully keeping them is a violation of 18 U.S. Code § 2071. 2. Trump claims he declassified the documents. However, the fact that they were once classified means the documents are owned by the government. Willfully keeping them is a violation of 18 U.S. Code § 2071. 3. There is no record of Trump declassifying the documents. But that doesn't matter if it is proven the documents contain information relating to the national security. Willfully keeping them is a violation of 18 U.S. Code § 793. 4. After being subpoenaed, Trump's attorney claimed that all documents marked classified had been returned. That was false, an apparent violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 1519. There is also apparently other evidence that there was an attempt to hide the document. The photograph supports each of these findings; that they were government records, that they were (in all probability) national security records, and that all the documents marked classified hadn't been returned. It comes down to this. Why the heck did Trump have highly classified national security information in his home? And what did he intend to do with it? "Willfully keeping them is a violation of 18 U.S. Code § 2071."

IdahoBob: Does that apply to Obama's 50,000 records that he still has?
QUOTE: The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) assumed exclusive legal and physical custody of Obama Presidential records when President Barack Obama left office in 2017, in accordance with the Presidential Records Act (PRA). NARA moved approximately 30 million pages of unclassified records to a NARA facility in the Chicago area where they are maintained exclusively by NARA. Additionally, NARA maintains the classified Obama Presidential records in a NARA facility in the Washington, DC, area. As required by the PRA, former President Obama has no control over where and how NARA stores the Presidential records of his Administration. https://www.archives.gov/press/press-releases/2022/nr22-001

Being accused of being a fascist, a terrorist, a hater of democracy, a demon who's hellbent on destroying all that's good in the world, simply because I intend to vote Republican and work on undoing the wrong things Joe Biden has done to this country, are really starting to annoy me.
Physicians and providers... Providers enforced the government protocols and did not question those protocols.
Physicians actually practiced medicine with their patients. Our commander in chief has always been a nasty piece of work. Recall in September 2021 he told unvaccinated Americans – he was “losing patience” with them. That’s right – a politician was out of patience with certain American citizens. When did that become a thing? This is a free country, and these people did nothing illegal or unethical. His patience is of no concern to a free people. The only person who gets to say – I’m losing patience with you - is your mother. The fact that he would say something like that tells you all you need to know about his feelings for the proles. Pay your taxes and prepare to be chastised again on Thursday night.
"these people did nothing illegal or unethical"
And more importantly they were right AND Biden was knowingly lying at that point in time. Ever wonder where the (((Quibble-DickZ))) get their talking points (propaganda)?

Gibson’s Bakery Wins! Ohio Supreme Court Refuses To Hear Oberlin College Appeal
QUOTE: The Ohio Supreme Court just refused to accept jurisdiction over Oberlin College’s appeal (the Court also refused to hear the Gibsons’ appeal seeking to reinstate the full punitive damages award). It was a 4-3 decision, and it means the Gibsons now can collect approximately $36 million. All this stems from what transpired in the fall of 2016. Grind exceedingly slow... |
