Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

In it she admits to multiple lies and altering data ‘for the public good.’ How the Best of Intentions Created Today’s Academic Disasters "This is not a George Floyd situation": Minneapolis mom berates BLM protesters after police shooting Biden’s Saudi Arabia Visit Was Worse Than an Embarrassment. Not to beat a dead horse (no pun intended) Geroge Floyd killed himself by overdosing on drugs. Derek Chauvin just had the bad luck to be the cop tasked with subduing Floyd when he became violent and although he used a method ordained and taught by his police department as safe and effective the MSM and the BLM destroyed his life over it anyway. Derek Chauvin should get another opportunity at justice because he certainly didn't get Justice from his city, his state or his federal government.
They're not "illegal immigrants", they're "undocumented Americans". They're oppressed by being denied documentation, you should feel pity for them and invite them into your home.
I still haven't seen any illegals at the homes of my neighbors with the "In our home...immigrants are welcome" signs in the yard. Pretty weird!
Something extraordinary happened in 1979. Some of the groundwork for this was laid earlier but in 1979 congress forced Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac to buy any and all mortgages from banks. They bought the good ones, the bad ones, the questionable ones, all of them. This was forced through congress by Democrats and in particular the black caucus for the purpose of making it easier for black to get mortgages. Fast forward 10 years and we had the infamous housing bubble crash of 1979-80. The FED stepped in and cut interest rates to sub-zero levels which "kinda" worked and although it was the longest recovery in history it was a recover... of sorts. A "real" recovery would have been accompanied with interest rates retuning to normal, they didn't. In fact it is just in the last few months that the FED actually raised interest rates.
Why is that? Why didn't the FED raise the rates when the economy recovered? Simple, the economy never recovered. It was all smoke and mirrors. The FED was propping up the economy and in particular Wall St. for the benefit of the elite. One that genie was out of the bottle (sub zero interest rates) and the huge boost it gave to Wall St. politics took over and forced the FED to keep it all in place. Those billionaires who interfered in our election became multi-billionaires after 2008 with the politically motivated FED policies and they wanted more; more money, more power, all at the expense of our middle class. Then came the inevitable inflation (yeah I skipped over the 20 trillion in borrowed money). Now the FED is facing a Hobson's choice of raising rates to perhaps 12%-16% to bring down inflation while destroying the economy and Wall St. OR increasing interest very slightly so it appears that they are doing their job and thus giving the billionaires another year or two to fully steal all the money and destroy the middle class completely. What to do, what to do! Destroy the economy or save the economy! Remember all of this began in an effort to make it easier for a group of people get mortgages even though they didn't qualify AND by 2008 all those risky mortgages got defaulted anyway. Even if the intent was good it all went to hell in a hurry and now the full effects of that stupid mistake will come home to roost. Just me - you will love the Weissberg article. I used to refer to obummer as the 1st affirmative action president. And I warned about the future after the 2008 election. I wish I could pick stocks with such foresight.
Think about this article the next time you need surgery, or fly in a plane, or even ask a question at a FJB briefing room "performance". I don't think we are voting our way out of this one. So..., in summary, to reduce the likelihood of bruising, based on your 1st link, I should avoid making contact with things. I wish.
I fear I am doomed to be bruised. QUOTE: Climate Change Dictates Are Self Destructive - But Also Part Of A Bigger Agenda . . . The primary argument of climate scientists is one of exclusion: They say that all other potential causes (including the sun) have been proven not to be the cause, therefore, the cause “must” be human industry and emissions. But this is a lie. That is incorrect. The theory of anthropogenic global warming is based on a causative model, the basics of which have been known for over a century. Nor have "other potential causes" merely not been proven not to be the cause, but positive evidence shows they are not the cause. For instance, that insolation has been decreasing since the middle of the last century but the mean surface temperatures has been increasing is evidence that insolation is not the primary driver of the temperature increase. https://climate.nasa.gov/internal_resources/2502/ QUOTE: the increase in temperatures cited by the NOAA and NASA coincide directly with an increase in solar activity over the course of the past 100 years according to a study released in 2006. Which is contradicted by the very article he links: QUOTE: "During the last few decades, the solar activity is not increasing. It has stabilized at a high level, but the Earth's climate still shows a tendency toward increasing temperatures," Usoskin explained. He suspects even if there were a link between the Sun's activity and global climate, other factors must have dominated during the last few decades, including the increase of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. But none of this particularly matters anyway.
Action on climate change is always touted as demanding a global response: the world's 193 nations all working in lockstep and sacrificing their own national interests for Gaia. And there's the rub. Exactly what global entity is going to tell those 193 sovereign states what to do and with what legal authority, pray tell? JJM: tion on climate change is always touted as demanding a global response
That's an important point. It's a tragedy of the commons. Defeat is not inevitable, however. Though the rules-based system is under stress, in the U.S. and globally, there is cause for hope for long-term solutions. The major economic powers will have to lead. Let me fix that for you: It's a grift of the commons. There!
Tragedy of the commons?
It's a tragedy that the west is going full tilt on solar and wind - and finding it can't do the job in a reliable fashion while China and India continue to build coal fired power plants as their main means of generating power. At least China's also building nuclear - or so it seems. The Germans want to keep their nuclear power stations on-line, instead of decommissioning them to appease the Greens. Of course, Russia going "Hey, you know that gas you've been buying from us? Yeah... maybe you aren't going to get any." might change their priorities. Maybe if we were really serious about CO2 we'd have started building new nuclear power plants decades ago... JLawson: Tragedy of the commons?
Good explication of the tragedy of the commons. Thanks.

when I was a younger man, I didn't understand what was ment by "Once you convince yourself that it's OK to do the wrong thing for the right reason, you've effectively sold your soul." Now it seems that many my age and older have never learned that dictum.
The Birx book...The covid is like the Russia, Russia, Russia narrative. As time goes by the whole thing looks more and more corrupted.
It is at the point that you begin to look at those involved to tell whether or not anything is legitimate or just another power and control scam to benefit the grifters of the world. Vaccine report https://tennesseestar.com/2022/07/15/commentary-the-feds-pile-up-vaccine-adverse-event-reports-as-they-decry-scaremongering-elsewhere/
Interesting vaccine report https://2ndsmartestguyintheworld.substack.com/p/must-read-facing-the-beast?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email
This is obviously tin-foil-hattery, just because the Chinese unleashed the Covid virus, controlled the narrative on the response to Covid, and now control the vaccine, the testing, and the prophylactic measures for Covid, that's no reason to be suspicious of China. I'm sure they're perfectly nice people.
Oh, the long history when doctors have done things 'for the public good'.
I bruise easily because I eat an aspirin every night. It has effectively turned me into a low grade hemophiliac, but it beats thrombosis.
Akkk..the backs of my hands are purple and splotchy. They look like my Dad's hands and he lived to 94. I'm 74 so hope I make it a few more years. Don't bump into things...who could possibly believe one could do that? If you can't stand a few bruises you may as well just give it up now.
As far as I’m concerned Fauci, Birx, and their enablers should be given a blindfold, a cigarette, and led to a wall.
